VAN HALEN NEWS DESK

Happy Birthday, Edward Van Halen!

Edward Lodeewijk van Halen (Lodewijk is pronounced “Load-ah-ivke”) was born in Amsterdam, Holland, on January 26th, 1955. Happy Birthday to the “King of Ten Fingers & Six Strings!”

“Eddie’s accomplishments are enormous. Positively towering… there isn’t one aspect of the electric guitar he hasn’t changed, rearranged, or reinvented. He’s Hendrix and Les Paul combined. He revolutionized the way the guitar is played and revolutionized guitar technology.”

    btw: Lodewijk is pronounced:
“load-ah-wike” (if you really want to sound Dutch then best is to leave out the ‘j’-sound in the ‘wike’-part)

    You’re very welcome!
