The Only Half
Well, gang, it’s time to open wide for what some might consider the worst spoonful of bad medicine that Ed and Al have served up yet: No more Michael Anthony.
Janie Liszewski, Ed’s current squeeze/publicist is quoted in a report posted yesterday at G4TV.com as saying the following:
“Yes, I can confirm this story in the respect of Wolfgang being the new bass player for the band and, yes, he has been in the studio with his dad and uncle rehearsing and writing for an upcoming summer 2007 tour … Wolfgang most certainly has inherited the Van Halen musical genius gene. At 15 years of age his knowledge, understanding, skill, and command of multiple instruments is impressive.
Lisewski also addressed recent rumors of a 2007 reunion tour by saying that there has been “no confirmation that David Lee Roth will be touring this coming summer.”
Meanwhile, a new message that Mike posted at his blog says:
People have been asking … “Are you in or are you out of any reunion tour??” I want to let everyone know that I have have NOT been contacted by anybody about being part of any VH reunion tour. I’ll keep ya posted. Thanks, Michael
Ugh.
UPDATED 11.09.06: Billboard.com confirms that Mike’s out, Wolfie’s in.

Whatever they do, I hope they change the name of the band a little bit. Eddie is still great even if he is getting squirrely.

Eddie is just plain nuts. He was a great musician but a crappy human being.

The sum of the parts is greater than the indivduals - something Eddie never understood.
I, for one, will boycott this bogus Van Halen-in-name-only.

I totally agrre with Scott. But on the bright side…maybe Eddie can recruit Axl?!?
