Ripoff of the “Hot For Teacher” video

A new video by Escape The Fate rips off Van Halen’s classic “Hot For Teacher” video. What’s sad is, if you had not seen their video, and perhaps only heard their song on the radio, you would not be able to tell which one (out of thousands, it seems) of these new crappy bands that you were listening to.

As if nobody MAYBE thought that this video was done as a tribute to VH by a few guys who looked up to Dave and Eddie as larger than life heroes which made them want to be “RoCk Starz!” ????

Regardless of whether or not the band sites VH as an influence, they don’t need a satirical video to pay homage. The video is awful and the music is even worse. Is this what kids are really listening to today? No wonder Hip-Hop is so big. That’s awful…at least wee could rub one off to the original. Even though the chicks are hot in this video, how can you rub one off to such horrific tuneage? Yuck…

I agree that the song is terrible, but the video is pretty obviously an homage/tribute to a groundbreaking video, right down to the camera angles and Waldo’s tone of voice. If HFT had been some obscure thing that nobody had seen, then I might agree that it was a ripoff.

Well now this is the time to be “thankful” to rock gods like eddie, roth, jagger,moon, plant, page, morrison, ozzy, etc etc!!!! Thank the rock and roll heavens for these cats!

Escape the fate (lame ass name) is the reason rock is considered dead my fellow VH lovers! (Even thou in our hearts we know that REAL rock will never fuckin’ die )
I forgot who posted awhile back with the comment about how these bands today have NO CLUE whats it like to tour and live on the road. EXACTLY brother! Right fuckin’ on!
Even all those cheesy hair groups that people hate had balls and went out and…performed LIVE!!! VH, SABBATH, ZEPPLIN, THE WHO, (to many to name!) all LIVED BREATHED and shat rock n roll. It was in their blood…it was what they loved. It was about the MUSIC. Now its about INSTANT stardom….INSTANT celeberty status….INSTANT rockstar! and these guys are getting LAID! LMAO!!! It’s amazing what girls find attractive or intresting. Then again keep in mind that a good percentage of these girls are wanna be’s too and think that miley cyrus is like the best next like thing ok? Hannah montana a rock star? Please dont make me laugh my ribs hurt enough from watching this crap!
My point is guys, that we are ALL very lucky to have been brought up surrounded by some of the BEST rock groups ever. Granted a lot of us were too young to see some of those CLASSIC LIVE SHOWS…but we all know our shit…and we defend it! You think anyone is gonna get into a fist fight over escape the fate? Actually now that i think about it…i would. If you were to say they’re better than VH!

Well, Let me first say it was not the worst I’ve ever listened to and even David Lee once said when he was young and just developing a style he had to borrow and steal from various sources. Besides who doesn’t love looking at hot chicks it was the main reason why the video killed the radio star. I’ll just continue to wait patiently for new mattial and new vids from the real deal. Van Halen with Roth rules.

Brooklyn: No matter what dave said or did it was never “obvious” who he “took it from”.
Sure you might say there was a little jagger there…a little tyler…but what dave did was take what he saw growing up and put a new spin on it. There has not been one show that i caught (on bootleg of course..was too young to see the classic shows)where I said to myself…damn dave acts like mick jagger. You get my drift. VH to me is one of the best rock n roll bands in the world because EVERYTHING they brought to the table was their own! Especially the sound.
When i see bands like escape the fate I cringe because it’s a slap in the face to what REAL music used to be. I couldnt even imagine growing up as a teen around this time! Ugh!
A band comes out….you love the music…you see them live…they suck live! Why? Cause these producers today are mostly cut and paste computer nerds that feel that an album has to be perfect to sell. Now maybe in todays world!
But back in 1980 when the CLASSIC; Women And Children First was released we had a song called :Everbody wants some!!
On that song there’s a part where dave sings: “Ive seen a lot of people just looking for a moonbeam” in his own way. Goback and listen to the way he sings that! It’s so cool….it’s freewheeling baby! Listen to it you’ll see what i mean. Today? “Um guys could someone tell dave that he didnt sing the words as whats written…we need to fix that”

Even if it IS a tribute to VH, it’s a pretty damn expensive tribute! I’m sure a striped guitar in one of their videos would’ve got more mileage and credibilty. Their publicist should be shot!!!

I love ETF and I’m not emo, but c’mon this is just a cover.It’s the first time when u’re listening to a cover? No. So, what’s the big deal? They took a great song and modernized it.I don’t believe that 14-15 children are listening Hot for teacher,right?It’s a song from the 8o’s…they rather listen Situations.:)

O come on man quit bitching first of all this band isn’t all that bad you guys are just mad becuase you can’t get with the times I own all of VH albums as well as Escape the Fate’s albums and belive me I’ve heard worse way worse this band has good talent and I’m pretty sure if there was a website back in the 80′s I’m pretty sure ppl would complain 2 Vh is way better than ETF but if you think this is shit u all go listen to black veil brides and then come back
