I love Sammy, but this song comes off as really uninspiring. I can’t help but lump it into every other bland, generic, forgettable rock tune I’ve ever heard.
I’m hoping Satch will help bring something better to the Chickenfoot project.

What a cheesy F’n song. Mikey should have apologized to the VH brothers while he still had the chance, for going on tour as ‘The Other Half’, obviously “the lesser half”. Now he has no chance of getting back in VH unless Ed moves Wolfie to rythm guitar. More Sammy cheese here. Without VH music under him, Sammy is one big cheeseball. Since Sam is loaded with money now, he will never be able to shrink his big head down enough to ever work with Ed again. If you respect Ed, he will respect you. So so sad pride has torn them all apart.

I’m a huge fan of Sammy and Mike, but I thought “Cosmic” was a “C-” album, and I couldn’t even get through this video - it’s weak sauce. No offense, I’m just giving my honest feedback. Still think you guys are great - better luck next time…
I still have high hopes for Chickenfoot. Andy Johns produced some of Joe’s and Sammy’s best stuff in the past between “For Unlawful” and “The Extremist” so it’s cool that he’s on board for this. So is it April yet or what? And what’s all this nonsense about touring Europe first??? Oh well, best of luck to you

Sammy seems like he just wants to have fun playing cheesy rock n’ roll, so he can go ahead and do what he likes. The music was very generic, but I feel like it suits Sammy’s lyrics better than VH ever did. Anyway, hope to see more music from Chickenfoot and the new VH soon.
To all those Wolfgang haters: Wolfgang’s presence in the band is what got Eddie sobered up and the band back together. Ed wants to make music with his son; I think we will be hearing from them soon.

Sammy didn’t write this song. This song was written by John Eddy (sp) as a tribute to Sam. So all of you dolts that ripped the songwriting need to find something else to rip this guy on. Still doesn’t make sense. Let me get this straight, you don’t like Sam because he came in to Van Halen because Dave left or was kicked out (no one knows the truth there). That’s fine to not like him as Dave’s replacement, but that doesn’t mean you have to dislike the man. Ed and Dave haven’t done any favors to you sheeple who feel that they can do nothing wrong. Sit back and take a look at yourself, you say vitriolic things about musicians while there are a lot bigger things in life to be concerned about. Everybody cheer up…this song is all about having a great time…so when did you all get so boring and hateful? I love loud music, great sex, and fast cars…if you can’t relate you probably are bitter old farts who are unhappy with your lives. (Like Sammy, I’m loving life…I wish the same for all you angry, repressed types too…cheer up and get laid for god’s sakes!)
Guess what? David Lee Roth was not the only singer in VH. Someone named Sammy came along after Dave threw the gig away and he rocked, grew VH to greater heights AND respectability, and they won over new fans, grammys, and even some old fans. Just remember: just because Sammy rocks and is producing new rockin’ new stuff doesn’t diminish Dave or VH. It just means Sammy is producing new stuff and doesn’t need to lean on old songs from 25 years ago to sell concert tickets that were WAY overpriced by the way! (I like Dave solo and Dave-era VH by the way…I just like Sammy more.)
In summary, cheer up Dave fans…it’s been decades since Dave’s been relevant…does it make you feel older to remember that?
Sammy was great in VH. Dave was great in VH. But only one is continuing to rock…and by the way…it WAS Loud!

Wow, those lyrics did come with extra cheese. I love all of Sammy’s lyrics with Van Halen and most of his solo and Montrose lyrics. After livin’ it up, I didn’t know what to say. His lyrics are getting worse, and his music is getting a country sound, even this new loud song sounds country to me. His voice has a lot of potential. Glad to see Mikey rockin’. - bort is not a nazi, he corrected some mistaken impression about the song’s authorship and stated his opinion . some people throw the word ” nazi ” around so much it loses meaning. a NAZI would go to your house and take your DLR/CVH cd’s , burn your computer , force your kids to listen to van hagar , and take your voting rights. i dont think bort did that.
- i LOVE sammy, van hagar , CVH ,DLR , VH-IV etc.
- sometimes sammy will write BRILLIANT songs. but he WILL phone in some cheesy stuff too. thats what happens when you have a MASSIVE body of work. sammy is enviably talented and whimsical. the problem is he just immediately records whatever he feels like, whearas in the geffen era ( with kalodner and templemon ) , the van hagar era ( with ed and al ) he was CHALLENGED . he needs to be challenged and he will always bring it. this is a great lineup, with sorum and so forth, just a b-/c+ song, i’d rather see this lineup LIVE and have a cd of that.

Those of you that hate Sammy/this song seem to put the most effort into your arguments. That says some pretty interesting things, not the least of which is that love him or hate him, you can’t ignore him.
I’m a fan…I like this song and video.
If I wasn’t a fan, I can’t imagine expending so much time and effort tearing it up or debating people over it. After all, it’s “just a song”. Whenever I hear something crappy I just move on to the next thing, so it’s really interesting to see how obsessed people are with ripping on Sam.
I like Dave & VH too, and I look forward to their new CD next year or whenever. But what the hell…if I don’t like it, I’ll probably just move on to something else that I like or listen to their old stuff.
I certainly wouldn’t waste any time bashing them over it though…why waste time on what I don’t like if I can spend some more time on what might interest me?

I´m very disappointed… This is just sad. Imagine two of these guys used to be a part of The Cult, once a magnificent rock band. Mike we all love and feel sorry for.. Sammy reminds me of George Bush, he means no harm but he comes across as plain dumb, and is apparently too lazy to write anything resembling a decent rock tune.

Sam didn’t write this song! At least Bush wouldn’t need to read every song from a teleprompter. Dave’s lyrics weren’t that special either. Especially when you consider Diver Down was nothing but a bunch of remakes which sounded better than the originals because of Eddies skills. Selling a majority of a tequila co. for 80 million is dumb? - I’ve got to stop learning. Playing with rock legends of today and yesterday is lazy? Even Dave said when he went solo there are only a few good songs on an album, that’s why he only a four on Crazy From the Heat. Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good rip though.
