Rare David Lee Roth track sung in Portuguese!

Note: This song was recorded before Roth joined Van Halen for their 2007-2008 tour.
From My Poproks:
This has been floating around lately and I thought it was pretty interesting. It appears that David Lee Roth recorded a track in Portuguese without Van Halen. The song is called “Take Sarava” and was recently put up on this site, the home of NYC based guitarist Jeff Falkowski. The site also features other tracks with former Mars Volta drummer Blake Fleming (who also played on Omar Rodriguez Lopez’ first solo album). According to Falkowski’s myspace, he is also David Lee Roth’s guitar teacher.

For starters Dave.. Lose the Hat and grow your hair at least to your collar. I (we) don’t wanna see the Freddie Murcury version of Diomond Dave.

They compliment each other well. I am glad to see Dave creating something new. Not something I want to hear everyday but cool none the less. Keep creating!!! Now let’s hear some new VH.

Re: themanthemyth, learn how to spell, quit being a hater. IF you are a true Diamond Dave, and it’s spelled DiAmond, take what you can get! EVERYTHING The Great One does is very much appreciated! Ofcourse we would all love to hear some new VH, and we will soon enough, the man just got back in the fold. Besides, if you new anything about Dave, you’d now he always liked this kind of music and that type of music is always what he’s craved to make! Get with the program!

Understandably the Members of VH chopped their hair off for the Tour because they didn’t wannabe be Pigeonholed.
I say “Good Call”
I also say “Let it grow a little,.. Just don’t come up looking like Zakk Wylde! (Grizzly Adams in Hybernation)(Although Pride & Glory is still my Fav Zakk CD)

I still think that’s an amazing photo. Dave has at least 10 years on me, and I couldn’t do a kick like that 10 years ago - if ever. Its also cool to see Ed admiring it too.
I like this tune. (As mentioned in the notes - it was recorded prior to the tour.)

Great Roth singing, I liked it…hope the rest of the band don’t lose the spirit in create new music and I hope that VH it’s not condemned to play over and over and over same old tracks just to please the nostalgic “old days were better” crowd…..

I’ve been an avid VHND reader for over a decade and just now read many of the recent comments posted by readers, and I’m very disappointed. What is wrong with some people? People that make comments usually make negative ones, for some reason. It seems that many readers (or at least many of the ones who post comments) are fickle, quick to ridicule the band for no good reason, and often ignorant of Van Halen’s history.
As far as this Portuguese song, I think it totally shows what Dave brings to the Van Halen table. He has a certain style and feel for all types of music which is the perfect ingrediant that is added to Edward’s musical genius. I think it also proves that he still has something different, cool and unique to offer that could be added to a future VH project. Dave is well versed, worldly, and his voice still sets himself apart from other front men.
