The boys in the fast rising David Lee Roth era Van Halen Tribute band
"Eruption" had a thrill of a lifetime recently. Sammy Hagar caught wind
of this band led by guitar whiz & Eddie Van Halen clone Al Estrada &
David Lee Roth Frontman Brian Geller as they played the Cabo Wabo
Village adjacent to the main venue at the Hyundai Pavillion outside of
Los Angeles Saturday June 3rd. The twin tandem of Estrada & Geller
turned the heads of Hagars' Irving Azoff management team enough to ask
Eruptions' Geller to join Sammy Hagar & Michael Anthony on stage for the
big show for VH's "Running With the Devil".
The Devore, Ca. crowd was already on fire when Anthony segued from his
bass solo into "Running With the Devil". Anthony sang the first verse
and then from behind the stage appeared Hagar & Geller in full blown DLR
garb. The crowd exploded with excitement. Some in the crowd looked
shocked as at first glance they thought it was the real DLR. What
started out being just a pretty cool gig for Eruption turned into a
night not to be forgotten. The Eruption guys got to hang out backstage
with the friends & family of all taking pictures & exchanging stories.
Geller relayed to me "A dream come true and what made it even better
was not only was Sammy and Mikey great guys but that I got to share the
whole experience with my wife and band mates."
