[No-VH] Advertising Popups
April 26, 2001 -
Due to the high cost of web site hosting, the Van Halen News Desk will
be displaying "popup" advertisements during the month of May.
I regret having to take this step and hope that the popups will only
be active for one month. Unfortunately the high cost of hosting such
a popular web site (1 million+ page views per month), combined with the
slump in web advertising rates has meant that I've been out of pocket
for the first 4 months of this year.
May 2001 sees the VHND entering its sixth year of service to
Van Halen fans across the world. The fantastic support over the
years of site sponsors such as the
Van Halen Store and
MusicVision
has enabled me to keep the site running without turning it into a
subscription based service (this will never happen).
I hope you won't be too inconvenienced by the popups during May,
and continue to support the site for many years to come. Without
the support of the tens of thousands of regular visitors, this site
wouldn't be around today. Thanks!

Dec 31, 2000 - 2000: The Year In Review
2000 has come and gone, and I don't have to tell you that it was probably
the most frustrating year ever in the life of Van Halen fans. "No news is
good news" got old real fast.
