Eddie Van Halen's Eruption has been voted the
2nd-best guitar solo of all time, behind Don Felder and
Joe Walsh's Hotel California. The survey was conducted
by Guitarist magazine. Over five thousand readers responded to the
survey, helping the magazine determine the top 100 guitar solos
of all time.

Nicolette Larson Dies
December 17, 1997 -
Singer Nicolette Larson died Tuesday at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles from
an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the brain. Edward Van Halen played on
the track Can't Get Away From You from her 1978 release Nicolette,
produced by Ted Templeman. Nicolette can be heard singing backup on Van Halen's
Could This Be Magic - she sings the first line after Edward's slide guitar
solo.
