Rogue Market
September 4, 1997 -
David Lee Roth is now listed on the Rogue Market. The initial price
is $10 so get in early to make a killing! Van Halen are currently
valued at $210.60. Sammy Hagar is worth $27.80. Could this be a
way to finally settle the Dave vs Sammy wars?? ;)
Dirty Water Dog
September 17, 1997 -
Exactly three months ago we listed the titles of the ten tracks
on the new Van Halen album. The last track, Swamp Groove, was
a "working title". This song will now be titled Dirty Water Dog.
Also, contrary to recent rumours, there are no cover tunes on the new album!!

Dave's Book Out Soon!
September 5, 1997 -
In a little over a months time, the world will finally be able to read David
Lee Roth's much-anticipated autobiography,
Crazy From The Heat.
Wall of Sound
has a special report on the release of the book, including some selected quotes
from Diamond Dave:
"I did what I did with Van Halen in good faith and I left on good faith and
I asked for no quarter. I asked for no settlement, nothing. And I guess that's
what I got."
Special thanks to Anders Wright and
Wall of Sound.
Dave on Howard Stern
September 21, 1997 - David Lee Roth will be appearing
on the Howard Stern radio show at 7:30am on Monday October 20, 1997. No doubt
the hot topic of discussion will be his autobiography and new album, due
for release on October 28 through Rhino Records.
It was just over a year ago that Dave last appeared on Howard's show, five
days after the infamous MTV Awards. At the time he was unsure about his
status in the band, and was very careful not to say that he was back
for good.

VH Mixing Update
September 22, 1997 - For those that have been asking, Erwin
Musper's 5150 Mixing Diary (see June 1997 archives) didn't eventuate
due to an illness with a family member. Edward apparently took over the mixing
job himself, with the help of Erwin's assistant, Robbes Steiglitz. They are reportedly
finishing various overdubs at the moment.
Finally for today, we're getting closer and closer to the release date of the
new album! The latest release date we have is January/February 1998.
Things will start to pick up here again over the next few months. There's nothing
like the anticipation of hearing a new Van Halen album, and we'll be right
here to provide you with all the info you need to tide you over until
the CD hits the stores!
