Review by Brian - BNPos@aol.com Just got back from the show. Three words.....Kick ass peri-fuckin-id. Dave wanted the bass kicked up a bit during the first few songs and made a point to let the crew know it. Once all that was settled it was quite a rock show. The band was all that and a bag of ____. Dave didn't do any encores - he played the tour set list and left the stage. No drum riser antics and no encore. I didn't really expect it. Crowd wasn't a sell out and there were a few fat chicks near the stage - would have scared me too. Where have all the "real" Van Halen fans gone? The occasional beer was thrown stageward - although I think out of tribute/love and not in anger. Dave may be turning 45 October 10 - (Albuquerque should sing happy birthday to Dave) but he still "has it". If you weren't there Tucson you missed out. I just want to thank Dave and crew for putting on a fine performance. Oh yea, and thanks for the J.D., Dave. I have always been a big DLR fan, but damn he is getting so old. I really wish that the bouncers would not have kicked me out when I did a little crowd surfing, but hell, I was having fun and only missed one song. All in all I am very interested in hearing the new DLR Band Recording and can't wait to see what happens within the next year. But I really would have rather seen him with the other guys. What are their names again? Hehe. IP: 63.11.146.214 |
