Dave came to Finland to finish the European tour. The band played on the final day of a three day long Rantarock-festival. Other artists on the final day were dance acts so Dave had to pull a really great show to impress the audience of nearly 30,000 people. And that he really did. The crowd simply went nuts during the performance.

Dave had gained some weight and couldn't move as he did in the 80's. But he's still got it. He gave the edge to the old classic Van Halen tunes. He knew how to entertain. When somebody threw a bottle at him during Pretty Woman, Dave replied:"I saw who threw that bottle. That's cool because I'm gonna fuck your girlfriend tonight."

The rest of the band were better than I expected. Ray Luzier on drums was great. The bassist Tom Jensen played also well. Bart Walsh on guitar was what I expected. He played right but missed personality. I just don't understand why he did Eruption and Spanish Fly. Maybe he's been playing Van Halen stuff so long he thinks he's Eddie or something.

I was one of the few fans in Europe who saw Van Halen last year. With that show in mind I can only say one thing: Dave takes his audience. He entertains. The guys in Van Halen know how to rock.
