This was the best DLR show I've ever seen or heard.

Dave was in top condition, looked great, danced like a madman and... sang like a young god. I've never heard him sing so powerful and on key on any live recording. Ever. He actually remembered all the lyrics!

The songs were mainly early Van Halen. Especially 'Runnin' With The Devil', a song which VH refuses to play live in Holland, got the crowd into a frenzy. Other great songs like 'Atomic Punk', 'Mean Street' and 'Little Guitars' were performed with a freshness and enthusiasm I've never witnessed before during any VH concert.

The only (minor) downside was the attempt of the guitarist to include 'Eruption' and 'Spanish Fly' into the set. In my opinion, he should have included some of his own input into his two solos... But hey, who's complaining?

Last night, Holland belonged to Dave and Dave belonged to Holland.

It was a show Van Halen should take a close look at...

Dave had been to the edge, and there he stood and looked down....."Now wait a minute... Do I see Sammy Hagar down there???"...."Oh...and look there...it's Gary Cherone...sucking his own Dick!!!!!!!" and the crowd chanted loud for hero Diamond Dave, who just introduced these new lyrics to 'Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love'.

Dave was in excellent physical condition and did his karate-act as if he were still 20 instead of 75. I even caught him on real singing...something completely different compared to the 'Skyscraper' and 'A Little Ain't Enough' tours I saw more than a decade ago, where he was too busy to catch his breath, only being able to push out 3 lines per song, telling the people he forgot the fucking words....

The rhythm section was as steady as a concrete wall. Nothing to complain about. Bart Walsh played every note the way it was once played on those classic records by Eddie Van H. And there was the problem.....I can be wrong about this, but this Walsh dude must have lacked friends when he was a kid. He must have locked himself up in a room with VH records and a guitar and has been released from it last week by Dave for a tour. This guy totally lacks personality and I haven't heard one single improvised note.

Was it Dave's intention to make the songs sound the way they once was recorded? In that case he surely succeeded. Was it Dave's intention to be the only personality on stage?? In that case he also succeeded. Personally I would have preferred a real guitarplayer,..not a machine.

The show ended with Jump where Dave did his Martial Art With a Shiny Steel Bar -act, as you can see in the Just Like Paradise video. It was all BIG partytime!!!

Diamond Dave rocks and has never been away...

A short review here of last nights show.....

They played exactly the same setlist as the day before, Dave's raps were a lot better, but the audience was a lot less enthusiastic than the day before.

During the part in "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" were he sings "I've been to the edge.... stood and looked down..." he was looking down from the stage to the floor and told the audience that he saw Sammy Hagar lying there.....together with Gary Cherone! sucking Sammy's D**K!

That was the only "joke" he made towards the VH camp, the rest of Dave's raps were funny as hell.

Anyway, again a really cool night.

Reading the reviews my fellow concert-visitors already wrote, I hope I am still able to add something here...

But perhaps it is nice to hear a woman's point of view here? ;-)

There I was, close to the stage, having a really good time ! It was too bad there was a really BIG (or should I say HUGE ?) guy in front of me jumping on my toes all the time, but hey! One has to make a sacrifice to see her all-time favourite personality-on-stage huh?

Anyway, the show was absolutely stunning! I remember thinking "Oh my god, it is HIM!" when Dave entered the stage, and for a minute, it felt a bit strange. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I "saw" Dave while watching TV, video's etc. But I never ever saw him performing "live".... And there he was, looking really good!!!

And although I remember telling my husband (big fan also) that I would act like a grown-up human being, I couldn't help screeming and shouting, like a 12-year-old at a Backstreet Boys gig ! (Urrgh, have to wash my mouth now...) At one point, Dave even looked at me! Well, my husband thought he looked at HIM, so I'm not sure here... Anyway, enough of this nonsense now....

I definitely had a good time, and despite of what my fellow-reviewers might think. Listen guys: That guitarist was brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were a couple of guys in front of me shouting "WRONG, WRONG!" all the time, but hey! He did a really good job: try to do it yourself!

That's all I have to say about this. Oh well, not quite:

Please, dear Dave, don't ever do this metal-stick-type-thing again!!!!! All I did was hiding behind this Huge-guy-jumping-on-my-toes, hoping not to get hit, ha ha! I already pictured myself with no teeth at all....
