Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!
The chant rang out for the first time in Alaskan history tonight as the band performed a smokin' set in Anchorage. I'm convinved my 10 year old son and I had the best seats in the house tonight. We were in the first row directly in front of Eddie. The only thing I could hear all night was the blast of his amps in my face. I didn't mind at all. This was what I came to hear!
When he first came out before the lights went up, I stretched out over the rail and he came down and slapped my hand. I had told all my friends I was gonna high five him, and that's exactly the first thing he did! All night long Eddie played in front of us, so close I could see the sweat on his chest.
That guy has beautiful guitar technique! What a master. He was smooth and fluid, and even held up when his guitar strap broke and he just about dropped it during Jamie's Cryin'. His taps were sheer beauty, playing lots of harmonics off the 12th fret. I had a personal lesson from Eddie Van Halen tonight, and I will never forget it.
Thank you Eddie for being so cool. And thank you for giving my boy the guitar pick and Gary and Michael for the attention you gave him too. He had a really great time and says this was the best concert he's seen (and he's been to several with me!)
Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!

From the opening tune "Unchained" to the last song of their second encore "Jump" the crowd was on their feet cheering the antics of Eddie, Alex, Michael and of course Gary Cherone.
Although I was fortunate enough to be in the third row stage left...{Eddies' side of the stage... ;)} the energy flowing from Gary was felt clear back in the nosebleed seats.
Time prevents me from reviewing the show further. A phenomenal show I will remember for years to come.

Hell Yeah, I saw Van Halen tonite for the first time ever. All I can say is "God Damn!". The show was quality from beginning to end. Everyone in the band is so talanted, I was blown away. It was all that and a bag of chips.
Peace.
P.S. For all those who thought Gary C. wouldn't work out, he's better than Dave or Sammy and has brought new life to this band.

The show was awesome!!!!!! We were so glad to have them come to Alaska. Eddie promised us another show some time. The people who said they had been through too many lead singers, and may have lost it, can eat shit! They haven't lost a thing! Thanks for a great time, your long time true fans are still with ya! We hope you felt the warmth of the welcome, you guys still got it! Love ya, your long time fan, Sal.
