Rock superstar Eddie Van Halen has been wanting to do some solo work outside of the band and music industry. So as a fun side project, Eddie has joined forces with his friend Michael Ninn, an adult movie director to write and perform two songs for the new Ninn Worx feature, "Sacred Sin".

Eddie Van Halen: "I'm working with a friend -- very simple. I like his work," he said. "Michael Ninn is like a Spielberg to me: the imagery, the way he makes things look, just...sensual.

Michael Ninn: "It started out as him ringing me up to work on some music together. I had this movie in mind. We would sit at his piano and play and talk all night long. One thing just led to another."

The project came to life as a result of "the things we talked about: life in general, imagery and the power of imagery. Sometimes as he'd play I'd walk around the estate and the story kind of came to me while I was there."

The new songs by Eddie Van Halen in Sacred Sin are "Rise" and "Catherine," both instrumentals. Eddie also contributed some "transitional piano pieces that are sprinkled throughout the movie." (The rest of the music in the movie is the work of frequent Ninn collaborator Loren Alexander).

The two-disc set will contain music videos for both songs. "They're pretty powerful," Ninn said, calling his friend "an incredible performer who really comes to life when the cameras are on. He's a showman."

The movie was completely shot on High Definition video and is aimed at the couples market. "I wanted the sex to be for couples, nothing too crazy.", Ninn said.

The picture introduces new Penthouse Pet Heather Vuur, in her first adult movie. "She's an incredible actress on top of being stunningly beautiful," Ninn said.

The 2-DVD Limited Edition Collector's Set contains many extras. Disc One contains the movie. Disc Two includes two never-seen Eddie Van Halen videos, a 60 minute "Making Of" video, six Bonus Scenes, Deleted Scenes, Director's commentary, a 250-image Stills Gallery, and Trailers.

To Summarize, the Van Halen content is:

  • Two new Music Videos featuring Eddie Van Halen playing his new songs, "Rise" (5:03) & "Catherine" (6:37), both instrumentals. Eddie playing his original red striped Charvel Strat! Both contain imagery from the movie (no nudity). You can watch samples below.
  • Eddie also contributed some transitional piano pieces that are sprinkled throughout the movie.

Sample of "Rise" Video: Here is a low resolution, low quality sample of the "Rise" video. It's only 1:49 out of the full 5 minutes. (Click the play button in the lower left corner):

Sample of "Catherine" Video: Here is a low resolution, low quality sample of the "Catherine" video. It's only 3:14 out of the full 6 1/2 minutes. (Click the play button in the lower left corner):

Ninn's movies have been called the "cutting edge of XXX Erotica." The $250,000 budget has pushed the suggested retail price of this two disc set to $49.95, although the VanHalenStore is offering it at only $29.95, a $20 savings!

(Eddie does not appear in the movie... he is only in the two music videos.)
