January 6, 2001 -
First of all, happy new year to all the regular VHND visitors. Thanks
once again for your support over the last 5 years. Hopefully 2001 will
be the big year we've all been anticipating.
On the Van Halen front, Michael Anthony continues to be the only guy in
the band who seems to be doing anything. The
official Van Halen site was updated
on January 4 with new pics of Mike, taken during a photo shoot to promote
his new Yamaha bass. Mike's appearance times at the NAMM
convention on January 20 were also confirmed in the update. If you can get into
the show, you can see Mike at the Ampeg booth at 1pm,
the Yamaha booth at 3pm and the
Dean Markley
booth at 4:15pm. Edward Van Halen is also expected to be in
attendance at the Peavey
booth on the same day, but no times have been confirmed
yet.
David Lee Roth is featured once again in the latest edition of Spin magazine.
He's included amongst a group of artists asked to comment on their favourite
music of 2000. Look for the edition with Fatboy Slim on the cover.
Diamond Dave's official web site has also been updated. Check out the
wazzup section
for more info on Dave's "rockin', technicolor, combustible art exhibition".
Two new interviews with Sammy Hagar were
brought to my attention in recent
days. One is from November 2000, the other from January 4, 2001. Once
again, in both interviews, Sammy shows that he's still quite bitter about
his split with Van Halen. He also has plenty of negative things to say
about David Lee Roth. Read the interviews for yourself via the links below.
