Seashells for Souls have asked me to stick this on the page in reponse to some comments from Van Halen fans...

Hi! This is just a quick message inspired by what we have just read and we
felt we wanted to respond immediately.

We have just received a copy of some of the stuff the Van Halen America On
Line users have been saying about the possibility that Gary Cherone will be
joining VH. Normally we are quite calm and reasonable people but we are
utterly disgusted with what we have read. Nobody likes it when changes are
made in our favourite band. We are sure that VH fans understand that more
than anyone. Yes, it's OK to get upset, feel grief... whatever! Extreme
fans are devastated at the moment at the potential split within OUR Band.
At least Van Halen are still in existence, in whatever changed format.
Ideally, WE don't want to see Gary in VH any more than some of you do, we
would infinitely prefer him to stay with Extreme where he belongs, BUT if
that isn't possible then we have to accept the situation and we will
support him whatever - UNCONDITIONALLY. We can only ask you to be open
minded - Gary is not just "More Than Words", he is one of the best front
men ever! He has the voice, the presence and the soul for Rock n Roll and,
if this alliance comes off, we know that you will not be disappointed. He
is more than capable of being VH's lead singer, and we have no doubt that
he will breathe a lot of life and magic into VH. Please cut him some slack,
give him a chance to prove himself. Our suspicion is that the people who
are badmouthing him really don't know him and that is not fair. 

We know that the culprits are not readers of this page, but we would like
our views to reach as many VH fans as possible. Thank You.
