The Van Halen News Desk (VHND) was launched over 10 years ago, on May
21, 1996, as a service to Van Halen fans around the world who are
constantly hungry for news and information about their favorite band.
Back then, there were other Van Halen pages on the Internet where you
could read message boards and band bios, download sounds and
pictures, participate in polls, read interviews and interact with
other fans, but there was no one single place where fans
could simply stop by for 2 minutes and get the latest news. That's
the reason why the Van Halen News Desk was born.
Each year, the VHND gets more visitors than the year before. As of
November 2006, the VHND gets an average of 37,500 visitors per
week! It's the Grandaddy of all Van Halen websites, with more
visitors than any other unofficial Van Halen website.
The Van Halen News Desk would be an empty page if it wasn't for the
many cool people who contribute information, pictures, sounds and
general feedback. Even the rumors are appreciated, most of them are
good for a laugh - some of them even come true and become news items.
