    How old are you leaps?

  • ArmyMedic

I wasn’t a Hagar “sheepologist” until Roth Leaps got at me. I’ve come to realize that if you need to destroy other peoples character to prove someone else has horrible character, well then your delusion knows no bounds.

I’ve been in the army a while now, and I’ve learned one real dilemma in life, “you can’t fix stupid, and you can’t alter ignorant”. So I’ll stop posting to Roth Leaps.

Congratulations I suppose. If the arguement ends in attrition because nobody listens to your irrelevance anymore then I guess you can claim the win. Enjoy yourself. Me, I’m hopping off here, cranking Chickenfoot III, and not worrying whether or not Sammy or Dave is better. I’d rather listen to good music I have in my hands at the moment than quiver in anticipation of a new album like I’m a teenage girl waiting on her prom date.

    Have a good one all…OUT

  • Halen High

    dan slaughter says:
“…but what about when Eddie and Al trashed Dave???”

I wish they had all shut the fuck up LOL! But I think a lot of the mudslinging was over the hurt of Dave actually quitting, rather than compromising and allowing Eddie to have more of a say in what they recorded. It’s a difficult situation to sum up because none of us were there in the studio. Was Dave a control freak? Did Dave behave like a dictator? Probably. But then again, most of us liked the band more when he was running it. So when he walked I can understand the backlash from his bandmates. Eddie, Mike, Alex and Dave though had earned the right to trash talk each other, as much as it was uncomfortable for us to read/hear it. Even now, if Mike comes out and says, “Dave was always a dickhead dressed in spandex and I’m glad he quit”, it will piss me off but I respect his right to say it!

Now if I was Sammy’s manager, I would have advised him to let them all go for it, while you just respectfully stay out of it. From what I remember, he did that until the early 90s. That interview definitely had an impact on me – I started to see him as an ‘outsider’ or ‘not one of us’ anymore. Imagine if Brian Johnson criticised ACDC’s live shows in the 70s, or Bon Scott’s performances? Crikey!

  • Halen High

@ No Mas Tony – did he say that? Geez that is so NOT cool.

Aussie VH fans are suffering right now.

Mike may need to make another statement to the VHND.

  • Roth_Leaps_83

    @ No Mas Tony —-

Your long post pretty much validates everything I’ve ever said about Sammy in here. He’s a BITTER SCUMBAG who just keep can’t keep taking shots at Van Halen. He’s like a jealous chick who got dumped 15 years ago and keeps whining about it because no one pays attention to her anymore.

I’m still puzzled how you can “tolerate” Sammy. Read the power of your words and you will see it’s easy not to like or admire Sammy at all. He’s ugly on the inside AND outside.

Thank God most intelligent people in here still idolize the REAL heroes in Van Halen history —- Dave and Eddie.

  • Roth_Leaps_83

    @ ArmyMedic —-

I have friends who are in the military and I have a lot more respect for their judgment and abilities than yours. You are a shameless Hagar sheepologist and that makes me seriously question your decision-making abilities because you aren’t fully in touch with reality! Do you have access to assault weapons? I sure hope not.

Like you said — I win and you got owned. How does it feel?

    ;-)

  • jaaphalen

@Halen High-great point if I were Sam’s manager I’d tell Sam to just rock on. Remember driving home from a church meeting when I heard Highway to Hell and Soul Stripper in succession on the radio when they announced Bon Scott’s death-wow! He had a signature voice! But Brian J has held his own. From Oregon to Australia “I salute you!”

  • Halen High

Good onya jaaphalen! Driving home from a church meeting while listening to Highway to Hell – priceless! Yes he did have a signature voice – I don’t think I’ve heard anyone like him.

  • John

From now on I will only read Scar’s posts. He is the only one that makes any sense.

  • Melton

    @Leapo

hey bub, the only person being owned here is you. Dude, Sam is in your head so bad you might as well just call him daddy.

I sure as hell wouldn’t spend my time windbagging about someone I profess to hate.

And by the way you ain’t changing anyone’s mind. Neither is that book. The only thing it did is piss off extreme whack jobs like you even more. I think that’s funny as hell, (and ironic) considering you spend the majority of your day whining about Hagar and talking shit.

No. If you liked that guy before you still do. Book or no book, Leper or no Leper.

Think I’ll go buy me a bottle of tequilla and join the CF fan club today.

  • Roth_Leaps_83

    @ Melton —-

My previous post perfectly sums up you Hagar sheepologists —- admiring a bitter, lying, bragging doucherag like Sammy only reflects badly on your own character. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Stupid is as stupid does, sheepo!

Thank goodness I made the right decision a long time ago to idolize and admire the true heart & soul of Van Halen — Dave and Eddie. They will never let me down like a jealous liquor salesman would.

    I own the sheeps!
    ;-)

  • Jblav28

    @roth leaps

really admire and idolize? like i said before creepy. you probably do own sheep and they run when they see you coming.

  • Herb

Leapo (courtesy melton) is starting to remind me of my kids when they get on to a particular video. They must have watched Wizard of Oz 20 times in the last month.

Same exact dialog in every post. Blah, blah, sheep. Blah, blah, scumbag. Blah, blah, book, blah, liar, blah fat.

Leapo, if you go on vacation, let me know and I’ll handle the role of nut-case VHND poster for you. I’ve got your one trick pony show down.

Say hi to your daddy for me and tell him I dig their new album.

  • SCAR

Roth_Leaps into the shitter, give it a rest putz!!! You know Gomer, you should take a swig of Pepto and treat your diarrhea of the mouth. Later Melvin, have fun at your shift a Burger King!!! “Fries up mutha fucker”!!!!!!

  • VH2008

Roth_Leaps sounds like he LOST HIS MIND. You really do sound CRAZY, Leaps. I’m not kidding.

Bro, would hardy say my post validates everything you’ve ever said about Hagar – LOL. I think my only point was to say that Hagar could accept some culpability for stirring the pot so-to-speak.

Why do I tolerate Sammy? Because even though he says something stupid once in awhile, ya know, like ALL OF US HUMAN BEINGS DO FROM TIME TO TIME… he still has contributed to some of Van Halen’s greatness, he still gives to his fans, donates tons to charities, and he’s a great musician & singer (that is debatable, I know.) At age 63, he is still rocking… and not on a chair in his front porch.

HALEN HIGH — yeah, that was a dickish thing to say. I agree 100% with Hagar’s comment about being disappointed. I’ve been let-down too. But the thing about laughing that the concert was cancelled was messed up. Moreover, the headline, (which is Billboard’s doing). VAN HALEN AIN’T NO JOKE! (but Roth_Leaps is) ;-)

It’s just Rock & roll. I don’t take nothing too seriously.

  • Roth_Leaps_83

Hmmm —- typical 3rd grade childish insults being hurled by little sheepos like Jblav28, Herb, and SCAR. Remember what I said about reflecting badly on your character.

Bring it on — I own these sheep!

    ;-)

  • Roth_Leaps_83

    @ No Mas Tony —-

“Why do I tolerate Sammy? Because even though he says something stupid once in awhile, ya know.”

Be careful with the words “once in awhile”, bud. That can be a very subjective statement. Personally, I think Sammy has made enough offensive and stupid statements in the last couple years both verbally and in print to last a lifetime. It’s not like he screws up with a little white lie here and there — he systematically distorts the truth to make himself look better than Eddie and Dave and keeps bragging about things that arent that important (Chickenfoot, tequila money, etc).

I made a powerful statement and I want the Hagar sheepies to think about them carefully —- if you idolize someone as despicable as Sammy, then imagine how that reflects on your own character.

  • Adam

    Roth_Leaps,

“typical 3rd grade childish insults” perfectly describes YOUR OWN posts. In nearly every post I read from you, you act like a third grader… and not just a typical third grader, but an unusually immature one. And then, ironically, you accuse SOMEONE ELSE is acting like a third grader?

You are the single, strangest person I have ever read comments from on VHND. Your immaturity is completely off the charts. You are an literally an embarrassment to humanity.

  • SPANKED

    Roth Leaps is seriously insane.

His idol is back in the band but all he does is spend his life trashing Sammy Hagar.

  • Michael C.

I have owned the new CF CD since it came out.ndafter listening to it quite a few times I gotta tell ya….it rocks. I’m not gonna start saying that “VH better step their game up” or any of that BS. I know that when VH releases their new stuff, we are gonna forget about every other band in the world and rejoice, like the brothers and sisters of Van Halen that we all are. Haha!! It may just be music….but it’s our music….our memories and our pasts….DLR and VH. I love it. I am so happy at the prospect of new stuff. Mike should be a part of it, but, it is what it is. Bring it on, guys…we’re ready……and waiting.

  • Melton

    Leapo, bubby…

I checked out the new CF cd today. Some pretty good songs on there. That 3D stuff is kinda of different, but sorta fun.

If you put on the shades and look at Sammy’s pic, you’ll see “I own Leapo” jump right out at you!

    Your daddy wins again.

  • kayser sozay

Leaps: With all of your “I own all you Hagar sheepologists” and your “I made a powerfule statement the Hagar sheep needs to think about carefully” BS, you’re WAY worse than Sam when it comes to overinflating your own greatness. You’re truly a pathetic head case – just like the kid who gets his ass kicked at school then goes around braggin about how badly he messed up his opponent’s hand with his face. Have some self-respect, “brah”.

  • Roth_Leaps_83

    @ Adam —-

“You are the single, strangest person I have ever read comments from on VHND. Your immaturity is completely off the charts. You are an literally an embarrassment to humanity.”

You are taking yourself WAY too seriously, bub!

It’s only rock ‘n roll and we can all fun in here. Loosen up your panties and join the party.

Besides, I think it’s the Hagar sheepies who constantly act immature when I take jabs at Sammy. They get frustrated because I keep exposing the raw truth about Sam and it hurts them on the inside, but all they can retaliate with is lame, 3rd-grade insults.

You guys keep forgetting that Sammy Hagar is basically a chubby liquor salesman who only got into Van Halen because he had the same auto mechanic as Eddie. He says “Chickenfoot is bigger than Led Zeppelin” and he “laughed hard when the Soundwave Festival got cancelled”. Please tell me why anyone wouldn’t take shots at a pathetic loser like this?

  • ArmyMedic

I’m telling you…the only way to get people like Leapo to shut there mouths it let them have their way by attrition. It’s not that you don’t see their arguement, just refuse to acknowledge it. Let him spin in his own futility, ranting and raving and proving that sometimes Eddie’s hardcore fans are crazier than he has sometimes been.

  • SPANKED

bwhahahahahahaha, god you are a moron Leaps.

  • HALEN GOER

The post IS look at the new merchandise. Why do all you jack-offs feel the need to rip VH or Chickenfoot? WHY?????? Bands that tour sell shirts and other merch… is that so outlandish? NO.

    Back to the game.

  • Dano29

    @ Roth Leaps

To quote The Lawnmower Man – “The first sign of a psychotic break is a God complex”

  • Will

Been listening to CFIII all week now. Up Next and Dubai Blues are definitely the best! I may be in the minority here, but I do love Big Foot too!

  • kazman

Is this a crazy thought? The foot has an awesome album. We are waiting for VH to release their thing. As I sit here watching the Balance tour vid , it crossed my mind .. What if? I mean just What if?? the two joined forces and did a tour together? Wow…Wow. I would pay (as Dr Evil would say one hundred mamillion babillion faffilion dollars( pinky point) to see that show( if I had that kinda scratch that is). If all egos were put asside its entirely feaseable. I would die a happy man (and if Jessica Alba was riding me at the time) . Awesome!!!

  • Shine On

The sticker set certainly looks afordable enough. But, I only need one to put on my car’s bumper

  • D.O..A

@Will…I’m right with ya. If I was forced to pick my two favs, I’d go with those right now. And no, ur not alone on Bigfoot.

This whole “weak lyric” debate that rages on and on is just a waste of time to me. Tens of thousands of rock songs have been written. Countless have awesome messages. Just as many are campy, cheesey, cornball or whatever other adjective you’d like to use. It’s been going on for decades.

I think its all good if i can get a fun little song like Bigfoot from time to time. Plus I liked the story of Joe coming up with the guitar part and calling it Bigfoot, never thinking it would stick.

  • Shine On

D.O.A.: “I liked the story of Joe coming up with the guitar part and calling it Bigfoot, never thinking it would stick.”

Kind of like the band’s name, really. When I first heard the new group that Michael Anthony was in was called “Chickenfoot”, I thought it was a terrible name. THEN I thought of bands with such names as the Dead Kennedys, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and The Butthole Surfers. And I remembered the name Eddie first wanted to call what would become Van Halen: “Rat Salade”. Then I thought, “Well, maybe ‘Chickenfoot’ isn’t such a bad name, after all.”

  • simon_nyc

I LOVE Big Foot. I’ve had this CD for a few days now and I love every track. The packaging is awesome and most importantly the sound/production is great. You hear a huge difference between the actual CD through a good system, vs the mp3′s on this record. Can’t wait to see ‘em live

  • Carnal Knowledge

Leaps calls me a retard, and then goes onto say this:

“They get frustrated because I keep exposing the raw truth about Sam and it hurts them on the inside, but all they can retaliate with is lame, 3rd-grade insults.”

I’m under the impression that the term “retard” is a third grade insult.

    Priceless

  • Carnal Knowledge

To explain my statement about “When Van Halen started”.

Let’s just say you DON’T have ANY idea when Van Halen started. Wouldn’t you go to their first album, find the release date, and then have yourself a starting point? Sure, you could delve further, but the generally understood date from the international masses, COULD be 1978.

Now, quite breathing through your mouths….and Lighten Up.

  • SPANKED

My wife and I both love Big Foot!!

  • Bluesbro

How did a thread about CF merch turn into a shit sandwich yet again? Sammy is bitter you say? Take a look in the mirror guys. A couple of losers trash every thread in the place … pathetic.

  • Panama Red

@ Roth_Leaps_83 – You’ve complained many times that “Hagar sheeple” or “Hagar apologists” (or whatever crazy label you got going in your head that day) try to convince others that Van Hagar is just as good or better than CVH, and that some people say that everyone should love both eras equally. Not only is that absolutely not true, I don’t believe anyone has ever tried to do that here, but the most ironic thing is that – Aren’t you the one trying to change people’s outlook and perceptions on the music that they love?!? You harshly criticize people when you THINK they are attempting to change other people’s minds about VH, but you are the biggest (and in reality probably the only) example of someone here who actually tries to really convince people that they shouldn’t like what they like. Even though when you do this, it’s completely futile, although it does show how hypocritical you can be.

It’s like what Kayser Sozay said in response to your comments – “Leaps: You wrote, ‘stop admiring somebody like [Hagar] — it only reflects badly on your own character.’

Kayser said : “You’re actually going to tell everyone who they can and can’t admire?”

Look in the mirror, do some critical thinking about your motives and actions. Or another option is, you could just forget about your anger, get fucked up, get laid and listen to Light Up The Sky. That should do the trick, if it doesn’t then repeat the steps until it does.

You said – “Actually, the end game is to change people’s minds about Sammy Hagar”

Unbelievable. I think you have a distorted sense of yourself. I believe making people feel differently about the music they love is next to impossible, and why would you go on a crusade of doing that anyway? My God dude, seriously you could focus your energy on something more worthwhile and something that’s actually possible to achieve.

You usually don’t even come up with new material. You always bring up dead issues and irrelevant topics, like about “bad” lyrics, i.e. “Good Enough” You’ve posted those lyrics probably close to a dozen times. Geez, let it go.
Sammy said back in a band interview from 1994 or 1995 that he regrets those lyrics and his mind set has changed since then. He regretted sounding like he was objectifying women and he said he weren’t any songs like that on the new album (Balance) Again, that’s where your selective hearing comes into play. I’ve posted that here before too.
And My God, I’ve pointed out (along with several other people here) that Sammy Hagar retracted his statement about comparing Chickenfoot with Led Zeppelin. I think VHND even posted it here before. He talked about how stupid it was to compare his band with Zeppelin in at least 2 or 3 interviews I’ve come across, the latest being in the new Chickenfoot podcasts when he is discussing the new songs when again, he confesses how silly it was to compare the two bands. As obsessed as you are with Hagar I’m sure you watched those podcasts, but I guess once again, you selectively only hear and see what you want to, just like when Sammy in other interviews admitted to being completely ripped when he talked about the Led Zeppelin/Chickenfoot thing, and then when he sobered up, he realized how crazy stupid it was of him to say that. His own band members were jokingly giving him shit about it.
Sammy Hagar said something silly when he was drunk, he sobered up, then retracted what he said. Life goes on. I’ve done far worse things when drunk. Geez! Let your hate go, it’s just music and musicians we’re talking about here.

BTW – You can’t “own” someone because you have a different set of beliefs or opinions. That doesn’t make much sense. Saying you are “owning” people here is embarrassing. We are all fans of the same band and everyone here is stating their personal opinions. Saying you “owned” somebody here only makes you sound like you’re so insecure that you are trying to stroke your own ego to gain some self confidence or something.

Leaps, Here’s the deal, I know if and when you respond to this post you are probably gonna go about your normal routine of calling someone like me a “Hagar Apologist” (which now makes me kinda chuckle) or tell me I’m on your “shit list” (another chuckle) but honestly I don’t even get pissed off or frustrated anymore about your whole schtick. The main reason why I even posted comments to you is because I got a buzz and I’ve lost the ability to filter some stuff. I usually just roll my eyes or laugh at your Hagar hatin’ these days but whatever, I’m in a certain mind set right now I guess. You can post insults about me till your blue in the face, it doesn’t matter to me.

One more thing, I think you can post some pretty good shit about CVH sometimes. That’s what’s kind of frustrating to me now. If you’d just mostly stick with posting stuff you admire about Van Halen, like most of the rest of us usually do, it would be so much cooler. Because it’s obvious you’re a huge fan, but fuck man, it’s like you try to ruin the vibe here sometimes. VH is about having a good time, not trying to be the rain on someone’s parade.
Anyway that’s enough for now. Like I said, call me every name in the book if you want to, but try to at least balance out your hateful posts about Sammy with some good ones about CVH.

I hope at least some of that made sense, I’m drinking cheap beer, combined with about 10 hours of sleep in the last 3 days.
    =VH=

  • Brian

Reading these post is like listening to a bunch of middle schoolers. Everyone on here has an opinion so be it. Let them have an opinion. Is there anyone on here that has real inside information on the band. Are personal friends of Eddie, Sam, or Dave. Really know the real true saga of Van Halen. Anyone? In all reality, and I have no proof of this, but, they have all done something they have regretted. They have all made mistakes. It takes a bigger man to admit those mistakes and an even bigger man to accept the apology!! I love Eddie as a guitar player, but I have no idea what kind of person he is. I just know that he has run everyone around him off at one time or another. I love Sam as a singer/songwriter/performer, but I have no idea what kind of person he truly is. Has he run is mouth, yes, who hasn’t. Dave ran his mouth all the time before he became a medic. Forgive and forget. Enjoy some music. Enjoy life. Don’t be so judgmental!

  • Shine On

Brian: “Forgive and forget. Enjoy some music. Enjoy life. Don’t be so judgmental!”

You’re absolutely right, Brian, for no member of Van Halen, past or present, has been found to be guilty of doing anything truly evil.

If we follow the “logic” of people who say we can’t like the work of people associated with VH who have trash-talked, then the only VH alumini whose work we would be allowed to like would be Gary & Wolfie!
