Chickenfoot’s “Big Foot” Video

Chickenfoot released the video for their current single “Big Foot”, the first track from the band’s upcoming second album Chickenfoot III. The band’s replacement drummer Kenny Aronoff is in the video, and it’s obvious that the band’s humor is still intact!

Yes, Mr. Adams. Repetitive, juvenile, predetermined stances against someone or something bother me, if not get under my skin.

I don’t care if you or Halen High don’t like this music. What I don’t need to hear is why. We already know why.

    1. Sammy ruined Van Halen
    2. Sammy owes Van Halen
    3. Sammy can’t sing anymore, never could
    4. Sammy is a poser.
    5. Sammy couldn’t hold DLR’s jockstrap
    5. Classic Van Halen rules.

And last but not least: My dad can kick your dad’s ass.

  • Carnal Knowledge

The bigger question is why YOU guys give two shits about Chickenfoot? Why waste your time on these articles?

  • Halen High

Brian – you are wrong. I like a few Van Hagar songs, probably 7 or 8, and if I thought this new track was good – I would say so. I also like a couple of the Van Hagar videos, namely Poundcake, Finish What Ya Started and even the cheesy Can’t Stop Loving You, which I thought was funny and clever.

But I don’t like this new song and I think the video is lame.

I’m curious to know what Mike is doing…and I want to find out more about Sammy’s obsession with chickens. You know, what’s with all the chicken stuff? Do you think people will be wearing chicken outfits at the shows? Will you be wearing a chicken suit to the shows?

  • Halen High

    Thankyou jeff adams

    I don’t hate Sammy either – I just think he’s boring.

  • jeff adams

Hey CK, I never said I didn’t like the song. In fact I DO like it. I just don’t comment on it because my passion is w/ Van Halen and that’s all I care to talk about, but I do get a kick out of the bantering back and forth. Van Halen, Dave, and Sam are big boy’s, they don’t need us fighting their battles if there even is a battle. Hey, there are a lot of singers, guitar players, bass players, and drummers out there, they just aren’t as good as Dave, Ed, Al, and Mike. Just listen to “ON FIRE” that say’s it all.

  • jeff adams

Sammy didn’t ruin Van Halen. Dave ruined Van Halen by leaving.

Not sure what the Sammy owes Van Halen thing means, so no comment.

Sammy CAN sing, so can Steve Perry, just not everyone’s cup a tea.

Sammy’s far from a poser, (I think, not exactly sure what a poser is)

From 1976 to about 1984, no Sammy couldn’t hold Daves jock strap.

CVH DOES rule. They made new rules VH style.

  • RobCT

A good song with a nice tight grove and vocals by Sam. Not a top 40 hit but an all around solid rock tune! I’ll still pick up the CD in the interest of guitar driven rock! Then it’s up VH!

  • freddiegirl

I wanna see CK in a chicken suit now.
You know I’m kidding right, CK? Mostly… ;)

  • freddiegirl

Hey Halen High! *goes and puts on Dancing in the Streets and plays it loud….*

  • Halen High

You know what freddiegirl – I’m gonna go put Diver Down on and listen to the whole lot of it – at Van Halen volume – LOUD! :)

  • Halen High

@ Adam – still waiting for your reply to my point below:

“……in threads about CVH and/or Dave, that have nothing to do with Hagar, we have Van Hagar fans talking about Hagar and slamming CVH and/or Dave – I’m sure you’ve noticed – interesting you don’t object to that.”

Or are you too busy writing replies to the other 40 plus people in this thread who gave a negative review of this song and video?

  • Carnal Knowledge

Halen’s High: Enough with the chicken stuff Meat. Chickenfoot is a dominos game. That’s all I know.

Freddiegirl: I think I may have a costume idea for halloween now! Thanks. I’ll post pics.

  • freddiegirl

Halen High-I’ve been listening to Diver Down alot; it’s a great summer album! I’ve also been listening to a lot of Crashdiet as they’re (finally) coming here in a few months. As for VH I switched back over to WACF.. :D

  • Halen High

freddiegirl – WACF is my favourite VH album. Yeah Diver Down does have a summer feel to it. What’s Crashdiet? :)

CK – thanks for clearing that up. But don’t you think they are taking the whole chicken thing too far? You better hope Sammy isn’t planning on wearing a chicken outfit for the tour.

  • 3hater

Good song, good video. I bet Chad will drift away from the band. Who puts a stand-in member in anything besides a live concert?

  • AC

I like it!!! I don’t know if it’s the video or the sound quality (becasue I didn’t like it when I first heard it)….but it’s a solid rock tune, better than Oh yeah! the first release off the previous effort.

I like Mellencamp’s drummer – good choice for a replacement!

I may give this album a chance, I didn’t like the last one which I thought was way over-hyped/overrated and had to much Hagar-cheese. Hagar keeps his cool on this track!

  • Paul Nacho Jr.

    @ “anythingleftinthatbottle” – I love you man!!

  • anythingleftinthatbottle

Halen high. I’m with you. I don’t hate Hagar. I blame Ed and Dave for not pulling it together in 85. All those O.K. albums that followed coulda had the original VH playing on them. It just sucks that it didn’t happen that way. A lot of GREAT music could have been playin in my tape decks, CD players and beyond. Now they have aged and I have High hopes but Ed’s playing isn’t wear it used to be. Hell, I’m 42 and Mmy guitar playing has slowed down. Nothing wrong with slow if you can adapt to it. And DLR’s voice has changed too. He has lost that cool ass primal scream he once had. There again, I sing some too and I can’t reach those high notes. Everyones balls drop and it makes their vocal range drop too.

As far as Hagar havin some cool songs with VH. I think you put Barry Manillow in there and he gonna find it on 1 or 2 tunes. The first 6 albums have NO throw aways. I think outta all of the tunes they did with Hagar, ‘Finish What You Started’ was the closest thing to VH that they did. It had a comical twist on the words. It made sammy funny while believable. (Kinda like the end of ‘Beautiful Girls’….hey, hey, hey,…..where ya goin?) And Eddies playin was just flat out F’in cool! To be honest, ( And I might get reemed for this) I liked the song ‘Dreams’. I think Sam sang his ass off on that song. It’s just not (to me) a VH song. You might say,”Who the hell are you to say it’s not a VH song. DOn’t you think the guy in the band by whom it is named has the right to say it is or isn’t!” Yes, he does. I just don’t agknowledge it.

Hell, I guess it just gets down to the fact that this is a website called Van Halen News Desk! so…..

  • Halen High

    @ anythingleftinthatbotte

Yes – Eddie and Dave are ultimately to blame for what happened to this band and I agree with you about ‘Finish What You Started’.

Dreams is a fine piece of music – but lyrically it’s shocking.

  • freddiegirl

Halen High-Crashdiet are a sleaze/glam band from Sweden who sound a bit like Skid Row; really good and fun. Some of the harder tunes have a bit of a punk edge. Been around since the early 2000s. They’re not too original but they’re carrying the glam rock flag forward.. :)

  • Halen High

freddiegirl – They sound good. I love Skid Row – particularly with Seb. Have fun at the show :)

  • freddiegirl

Halen-High-Heeeeey! They’re going to be playing at the Key Club, used to be the old Gazarri’s where VH was a house band way back when. Wish you lived here so you could go with!

Gazarri’s! Wow! Hey same here hun. That would be so cool :)

  • Shine On

Funny video in a corny way, and I liked the short person beating up on the chicken guy, lol. The way the chicken drinks the shots at the bar is abit of a hoot, too.

  • Shine On

I think the woman near the end of the video should have been wearing more feathers to sell the idea that she was the natural match for the protagonist, but I’m glad they didn’t have her wear a strap-on beak.
