Sorry guys, I don’t like the samples, except for Come Closer. The songs apparently are not better than the first Chickenfoot album. By the way, I’d like to hear something like Satch’s solo albuns riffs and harmonies with Sammy’s voice, not Sammy’s solo album with excellent musicians (Waboritas de luxe). Coldplay made a “good work” using this idea. But it’s just my humble opinion.

  • Keith

Again a big FUCK OFF to all the haters. What has VH given you lately ? NOTHING . Not one fucking thing. Oh but Al can endorse a cymbal and Ed can grow his EVH merch empire and give new pics for Musicians Friend but not VHND ??? WTF !

Frankly, as great as the first album is, the new one, III, might just be even better – can’t wait till 9/27. These tunes are such a welcome change from everything out there today. Simply great foot-stomping, head-rocking songs.

“When you are washed up lyrically and past your prime as a singer, this is the kind of noise produced.”

Thanks Ace, thanks to your insight, we now have a general idea what the new Van Halen record will sound like.

“One of those records that will end up in the 4.99 pile.”

Ouch… Just saw VH2, Fair Warning and Women and Children First in the $5 bin at two different Walmarts. Oddly enough, both Best ofs and 5150 were in the normal section and higher priced. Whose side are you on???

  • Crossing Over

I seriously have to LOL at the people who are dismissing this album based on giving the previews a listen.

Straight up this collection of tunes sound awrsome, albeit 90 secs of each. Come closer up next and three and a half letters, lyric wise and musicianmanship are supreme standouts. U hagar haters choke on those lyrics and themes running through those tunes. This album kicks hard, and hagar sounds like the standout with some outstanding lyrics and phrasing. Well done bring on the 27th ! The foot are bringing it hard in 2011.

“Sounds no different to the first album, in fact it sounds like the songs left off the 1st chickentfoot album.”

Is that supposed to be some critical remark? Or, do you realize that you’re saying Chickenfoot has a distinct sound already?

If it sounds like Chickenfoot, it’s probably Chickenfoot……..

Keith-VH have given me a wonderful and amazing catalog of music that lifts my spirits when I hear it and brings a smile to my face. That to me is an immeasurable gift. As much as I want new music their place in music history is assured. Thanks to that amazing first album and especially to a little piece of music named “Eruption” they’ll be remembered long after ‘new’ artists releasing new material right now ever will be. It’s not a competition bro. Appreciate the fact that Hagar and co. still have the drive to carry on the rock music flag in a time of dismal pop stars and auto-tune BS. But don’t rag on VH; despite what some on here believe, they don’t us a thing.

come closer… kept my attention… that’s about it.

New RHCP… sadly nothing there for me either except the single… and it’s just OK.

Chad’s a great drummer… but not getting to hear him on inspired material is a bit sad.

Joe Sat… how about some key changes dude… this stuff a bit too straightforward… that it’s almost boring musically … let alone that Sammy’s run out of things to write about.

That said… The Chickenfoot Live DVD was wonderful.

    …ok… I’m ready for eddy. . v h

I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Sounds great. Mike and Sammy sound great together. Love them all!!!

  • railrunner130

Very cool! I can’t wait to get the whole album!

  • RPM5150

My initial review was harsh. I want to say that Come Closer is a beautifully crafted song with some of Sammy’s best lyrics. It almost has a haunting Foreigner vibe. I’m touched Mr. Hagar. More like this please!

So what? You’re not dealing with 10 years olds here – or fooling anyone. Everyone knows CD prices always fluctuate. In a couple of weeks, 5150 will be $5 and Fair Warning will have a $20 sticker on it.

He’s saying the music is generic.

Come Closer sounds like a powerhouse tune. Just F*&ckin’ awesome. I love the “Boston-esque” sounding backgound vocals of this song and just the whole album overall. Just a fabulous groove with that song. This band just knows how to please their fans. That’s why all of their fans come here. VH….get your head out of your collective asses and learn by example…
