“Feel Your Love Tonight” & “Loss Of Control” guitar tracks, and “Panama” backing track for guitar, which means all you hear is Drums, Bass, Vocals (and unfortunately the audience singing along from the Guitar Hero game).

This is sad. The only news on the VHND site are some track posts on youtube. Quite maddening really.

I can’t believe DLR has been mute since the end of the tour.

Ed’s hand has healed. He’s married. Wolfie’s graduated. So the decks are clean, right? Didn’t Ed mention that there will be news after these events? What. Guitar Hero posts?

Forgive me, I’m not known as an impatient guy – but if I had access to the 5150 studio, a great drummer, a promising young bass player and musician, and a great vocalist and frontman, I reckon I could have at least told my fans I had something brewing.

Maybe he has writer’s block. It can happen. In that case all I can say is Ed go back and listen to some of the stuff from the vault – talk to Alex and Dave. Get inspired again. The world is a shittier place without VH.

Or at least let us know you’re up to something.

These are guitar only tracks are INCREDIBLE. Give me more rare stuff from Van Halen 1978-1984! These isolated guitar tracks are as close to a new album as we’re going to get. Plus, they are from Van Halen’s PRIME.

Some of you people sound like broken records who think that Van Halen coming out with a new album will solve all your problems. Would you rather have a new album over the band releasing old stuff that you haven’t heard before?? I’d much rather hear the old stuff from when they were HUNGRY.

Anybody know how these tracks come about? Are they from guitar-hero? Or is it some clever software that can somehow extract tracks? Because there are so many different tracks out there on the tube. It would be cool to have like an entire VH1 album without Eddie (seriously!), so that guitar-players could play along with the band; not the guitar-hero thing, but *real* guitar-playin’

Love the Eddie-less Panama track. Hearing Al and Mike do their thing puts a differant spin to a track that you always hear on the radio. If only they could give us some OU812 tracks, then we would possibly hear Mikey’s bass in the mix. Oh, wait, I forgot, that’s Van Hagar, and that doesn’t exist in the current Van Halen universe. Better luck next time.

To all Impatient VH fans, I would like to hear a new album just like the rest of you. Usaully when a band is silent for a while they are usaully having sessions and are in pre-production state. Wolf has been probably beefing up in the gym to better his stage presence and Ed was recovering from hand surgery, who know’s right! Anyway, they are probably working hard just not letting anyone know about it, Have faith in them. they will be back.

Hey, I’m digging the isolated tracks too, don’t get me wrong… but there are some amazing unreleased demo tracks and songs they played at highschool concerts that never made on on any albums. Like those songs they recorded on Gene Simmons demo tape: “Babe Don’t Leave me Alone” and “Let’s Get Rockin”… then there’s this jam, “Voodoo Queen” that they later took the guitar riff from to make “Mean Streets”, also the demo song “Bring on the Girls” which later became “Beautiful Girls”. Then there’s a bunch of stuff floating out there from the early 70′s – “Brown Sugar”, “Glitter”, “We Die Bold”, “Down in Flames” but IMO, the crown jewel is this song that David Lee Roth wrote himself, composed and even played the guitar!… and get this, it’s a ballad (!) It’s called “Angel Eyes”. Really groovy track. There’s a shit load more too — all you VHND gurus gotta let me know what your favs are as well.

If you haven’t heard these before, most if not all can be found on youtube.

All those that are crying for new music (myself included) can look back at all the stuff we might have missed the past three decades. Would be awesome if they digitally mastered these on an album but yeah… Shit ain’t happenin.

No news is good news when it comes to VAN HALEN! Remember back in 1999 we heard reports that dave was recording new songs with the group and then nothing happend! Let’s hope they are being silent so they can give us the fans the best album possible! I mean,why wouldnt eddie want to make a album with wolfie?

You do realize that Van Halen has nothing to do with this site, right? You people seem to think that it’s VH that’s pumping out all the stuff on here, but they’re not involved.

If you’ve been reading this site as long as I have, you may remember the mid to late 90′s, when updates were few and far between. (Incidentally, Holy Crap. I’ve been reading this site for going on 15 years o_O) Basically only when the band actually did something that was newsworthy.

At least now, there’s something new to read every few days, even if it isn’t about new music (or even about VH sometimes). It’s a heck of a lot more than you get from the glossy brochure that’s sitting at van-halen.com

I just plugged in my 2007 reissue Gibson Melody Maker, the one with 2 pickups and the fat 1959 shaped neck. I routed it out and installed 2 Seymour Duncan ’59 humbuckers with zebra coils.

Not into my big Marshall, but my little Fender Vibro Champ XD. Ran thru all the licks and riffs I knew. It sounds like the early albums, 99%. Now if only I could learn all the rest.

It also nails sounds of Zeppelin, AC/DC, Sabbath, Skynard, Leppard and basically the 1970′s & early ’80′s. You don’t have to buy Eddie Van Halen’s products to get “Brown Sound”…

Van Halen just made $90 MILLION for one years work touring. Even if they only split half of that, that’s at least $10 million each before taxes.

Ed and Al just bought $100,000 plus Audi R8′s, each. Dave is probably off flying helicopters or travelling.

Ed is just placating the fans telling them new music is on the horizon.

What is Ed supposed to say? Hey everyone, we just made a small fortune and I will be having fun doing whatever I want, when I want. Pass the ahi sashimi.

Whats the point of making it, if you cant have fun spending all that stinking cash.

I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist but this is too obvious. How can Diamond Dave be so silent before, during and after the reunion? I’m the biggest VH fan out there but I’ll bet Crazy Eddie’s lawyers made Dave sign some lucrative agreement to keep hush. Of course there’s no news because NOTHING is happening except time passing Van Halen by. The interest level is getting smaller day by day, sad to say!

VHIII_1998, I’m not sure if your post was tongue-in-cheek. If it wasn’t, I don’t understand why you would think that about VH. None of the other breaks produced much of anything more than frustrated fans.

As much as I’d like to hear new music from VH, I can say all the griping about the lack thereof, is pointless and old.

By the way to the people who think this is all whinging and moaning – as a guitarist I’m very happy to listen to these solo tracks. Saves me sticking my head in the left speaker trying to work out what he’s doing!!

I just wouldn’t mind hearing some of the vault stuff/noodles properly recorded. Proper versions of Bullethead etc. Jeeze man its a guess but there must be a triple album in there!! That would be the ultimate!

Sheesh, I didn’t mean to upset everybody. That’s the first time I mentioned new music, and that’s only because it’s been a year to the day that Ed promised….again. Yes, it’s odd that it’s so quiet, but maybe the media doesn’t think anyone cares anymore. Wolfie in the gym? Doubt it. Ed recovering from one thing or another? Probably. Dave doing whatever the hell he wants? Of course. Mostly it was winter and holidays that kept them quiet. I’m as disgusted and tired as anyone waiting for new music. I’ve been waiting since January 1984. No it won’t be the same. If they had anything good, they would have put it out already. Just a pipe dream.

Ron, I remember coming to this site and seeing an update every 6 months or so. Unfortunately, that was when Ed was in really bad shape and most of the posts were about him ignoring fans at events and such. The person who ran the site finally stopped because nothing happened. We have come a long way since then. Granted, many of the posts now are youtube and whatnot, but at least it’s something.

The BEST part is Ed is sober, married and happy. Mike and Sam are happy together too because they are in a functioning band. Good for all of them. I sound like a broken record when I tell people it’s just music and people need to chill. I’d rather Ed be putting out no music and being sober than killing himself and making porn music.

Jeff, you are correct. there was alot of nothing going on between the last break, however look at the circumstances, they didn’t have much success keeping Hagar around and the sad thing is that on the new songs they released it sounded like they had good chemistry, what I posted was an optimistic view of what may be going at the VH camp, personally I could give to shits what they do. They may not release an album due to the fact all the napster fags down loading music rather than buying an album.

It’s OK DAVE,… I, and many, many, fans are with you. But, some people who post on here think they’re judge and jury. They are not. We all have the right to complain or compliment as we wish. We’re all just fustrated by the lies and being misled by the words and actions of the band. Why cant’ VH simply state the truth and answer the questions?? Tony – I know, those unreleased songs are cool. Some parts of those songs have been used to make other VH songs. They’ve been floating around in bootlegs for years and you can find them on other websites. Sometimes I forget about ‘em. Cool stuff. I can’t remember “Angel Eyes” I’ll have to look those up again. Loss of Control is such a kick ass song. I’ve always loved Eddie’s guitar playing in that song. I guess that’s not saying much.
Man, I can’t get enough of these isolated tracks. I wish I had the ability to isolate the vocals, bass, lead and rhythm guitar parts to ALL of the VH songs. If only I could live in 5150 for a while. I would need a giant cauldron of coffee because I would never want to sleep. I would be at the control panel noodling around, messing with stuff for days. And secretly releasing Eddie’s stashes of music for everyone to hear. No, I wouldn’t dis the Kings work like that but it is frustrating knowing that King Edward has tons of music just sitting there. Hopefully it will all come out someday. Maybe Wolfgang really is a blessing to the band in a way. I bet he would like the world to hear ALL of his Dad’s Awesomeness. C’mon Wolfie help your Dad get that stuff out to the masses.

Ah yes, real honest-to-goodness “news”… wouldn’t that be great. Sometimes I fear the next real news story will be “EDDIE VAN HALEN DIES at age…” Then all we’ll be left with is his long legacy of hit songs and a SHIT LOAD of unreleased stuff. I can see Wolfie going through and finishing all the stuff for years.

Ed’s said a couple times in interviews how much he despises other people making money performing his music and downloading these tracks for free on the internet.

There’s a good way to remedy this – (release them on an album).

Thanks Keith. Here’s an idea…..let Wolfie run this site or even VH’s own site. He is young and up to date with My Space, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Maybe he could feed us relevant info. I’m happy so many people are at least following on here to see if anything ever does happen. One thing is for sure, free downloading/file sharing has helped (along with Mtv, and other crap) ruin and nearly end music all together. Watching the Grammy’s was just painful. Like Alice Cooper says…”I get it, you’re angry/whatever, but where’s the song? The songs are joyless, uninspired, garbage. THAT’S why I care so much when VH is going to release new stuff. If there was good music out there, I would have stopped caring what Ed does a long time ago!
