Buck Wayne
January 1st, 2010 at 1:09 pm
very classy and cool!
January 1st, 2010 at 1:17 pm
Van Halen says…
“May 2010 bring health, happiness, peace and love to you and yours.”
All that and more back to Ed Al Dave & Wolf. And Buck’s right about busting a move on the album. Let the good times roll !!
But are they just doing this to turn all the fans against Chickenfoot ?? (just kidding…this is a silly reference to the previous CF holiday greeting thread).
January 1st, 2010 at 1:21 pm
they’re ALIVE!
and TOGETHER !
January 1st, 2010 at 1:48 pm
Happy New Year Van Halen!!! Hope to see you on tour next year! =D
January 1st, 2010 at 2:18 pm
Look what we got here…..2010 is going to kick ass – VAN HALEN STYLE!!!!!! A toast and a toke to the new year!!!!!
January 1st, 2010 at 3:27 pm
It will be a happy new year! It will be a happier year when we get the NEW album! I bet they are getting ready to release one kicka** album and don’t want us to know it just yet..
Man, that Frankenstrat photo with a bow looks great!
January 1st, 2010 at 3:30 pm
Ed’s New Year’s Resolution? An album per year for the fans for the next 5 years..?
January 1st, 2010 at 3:50 pm
Its Van Halen’s year!!!! Gotta be!! I am ready for greatness..I love you guys!!! <3
January 1st, 2010 at 3:53 pm
BRING BACK SAMMY AND MIKE
January 1st, 2010 at 3:58 pm
12 years now since the last album.
Their PR chick bangs out a holiday message and does a lame photoshop job putting a bow on a guitar.
Beyond caring what they do next.
Even fricken Chickenfoot could organize a live DVD from their tour.
January 1st, 2010 at 4:11 pm
Sorry, but a yes, a 2year old photo,a generic greeting,a photo shopped bow on his old guitar, I thought my fave band could(can) do better.
January 1st, 2010 at 4:38 pm
Happy New Year……looking forward to a new 2010 released album / tour from the Mighty V.H.
Can You make that happen for all Your fans that have been there for you since your LA. club days???
January 1st, 2010 at 4:57 pm
It’s nice to see that they still remember the holidays but do they still know how to release SOMETHING NEW?????? for christsakes, anything!!!!!!!!!! A gurgling noise, anything, hell I’d pay to hear Eddie tune his guitar. A dvd would go a long way to soothe the fans appetite untill the new album is ready. I think CF will be on their 2nd or 3rd release before we get a new VH anything.
January 1st, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Put out a NEW album for pete sakes.
happy new year
January 1st, 2010 at 5:28 pm
I almost forgot- Their card ends with the phrase “Keep Rockin”. Having said that, it sort of becomes partly their responsibility to make that happen… you know what I mean, guys?… Just give us the new album and nobody gets hurt… We’s wouldn’t wants youse to get hurt… now would we, boys?
January 1st, 2010 at 5:43 pm
When Chickenfoot the ‘project’ band puts out an album or two more then VH might put another one out. The brothers will probably go through 2 or 3 singers trying to get there. Sammy will probably end up being the singer
. Let the flaming begin.
January 1st, 2010 at 5:49 pm
Generic, corporate PR. Just get back to the music and not worry about the puff pieces. Chickenfoot are running rings around you guys!
January 1st, 2010 at 6:37 pm
I’m with you Keith…..This is a bunch of nothing..and I’m sure none of the current? members? had anything to do with it…..
January 1st, 2010 at 7:04 pm
They damn near missed the holiday with this holiday greeting.
January 1st, 2010 at 7:04 pm
Happy 2010 Van Halen!
January 1st, 2010 at 8:05 pm
the worst part is ill never forgive them replacing mike…its sickening…then to act like an active band with misleading pics almost makes ya think that they think we are gullible?
Whatever…Chickenfoot has made up for VH’s year after year misleading us…making us hope…telling us its in the works….we are not stupid!..if ya cant be honest…shut the F%^& up!…a version of jingle bells on guitar by eddie would have made up for alot…but clearly a thoughtful thing like that is too much for the guitar god to do w/o getting paid for it..lmao
January 1st, 2010 at 8:56 pm
i’m with you keith,a video presentation telling us their musical agenda would have been the proper thing to do.
January 1st, 2010 at 9:13 pm
You ungreatful bastards! Stop whining about Mike and get your ass out of the 80s. I love Mike as you all do but he’s in a good band already. Just give Van Halen a break for Christ sake! Surley you all love the music they have given to you and your buds. Just be happy that we have Van Halen music and they are still together. So stop bitchn and reflect on that. You all make me puke
January 1st, 2010 at 9:20 pm
don’t worry people most likely there will be a new album and tour soon. i have a feeling regardless of the hand injury and wedding etc. Ed and the gang are preparing something well worth the wait.
January 1st, 2010 at 10:07 pm
Geez guys. How bout we cut our boys a break? It’s a new year. King Edward will Return!!!
January 1st, 2010 at 11:53 pm
Cut our boys a break. I, concur. They need a break to recuperate from the mammoth 07/08 tour and the subsequent wedding, graduation, birthdays, product peddling, t.v. show appearances, etc. Whew, I’ve become lethargic just imagining the time management responsibilites involved. Happy New Year, VH. Keep on rockin, right back at you. Now, if only we could get Sammy to improve on that sucky work ethic of his we could have the best of both worlds in 2010.
January 2nd, 2010 at 12:34 am
Tough crowd here….sheesh. Take this for what it is, a Holiday greeting from the band, which proves that 1. they are still together, and 2. there is still plenty of hope for this year giving us a new album and tour.
January 2nd, 2010 at 12:59 am
Happy New Year =VH=
January 2nd, 2010 at 2:11 am
I still don’t understand why VHND, the number 1 fan web site, can’t call VH and/or their PR to get an “offical” statement on these matters. How hard can it be ????
January 2nd, 2010 at 5:02 am
I hope this works out with DLR and we get a new album that is great and not rushed.
BUT- based on the VH/DLR/Sam/Mike/Cherone history I doubt there will be a new album or anything else with Dave. The only reason they brought Dave back was because they had no one left to sing with them or even talk to them and it was a no brainer to bring DLR back to make some cash. I personally think Ed is doing this for his oversized son.
January 2nd, 2010 at 5:16 am
I hate to write this at the goodwill time of year but seriously, you couldn’t even spend half a day giving something to all of us who’ve sat through all the shit for all these years? What did that take the PR wife? 10 minutes? 5? If that’s the best you can do, don’t fucking bother!
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:45 am
Get ready to pay $125 this summer to hear “Jump”.Which will be the newest song they play.
January 2nd, 2010 at 7:21 am
$125? I paid $700 to sit front row in NYC, and I will gladly pay it again for King Edward.
January 2nd, 2010 at 7:41 am
Quit whining people.
January 2nd, 2010 at 7:54 am
…ummm nice picture…where is the new DVD of the last tour?
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:03 am
I love these guys, but this is getting old. Why create something new when you can still cash in on existing music…best-of tours/albums, Guitar Hero, books with old photos. How about a box set: with Roth- and a Hagar-era versions (oh wait, the Sammy era never happened).
I’m afraid these guys aren’t in it for the music or the fans (not that they really owe us anything). If they were we’d of heard a new album, Wolfie would go to school or form his own band and Mikey would be back.
I hate to say it, but long live the dollar bill: the real king of rock n’ roll!
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:10 am
I should have also said: Happy New Years to VH too, to all their fans and the folks who put VHND together day after day (thanks for putting up with our whining).
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:11 am
A New Years greeting confirming Van Halen are still a band was greeted with great joy personally as it negated doubts raised by the Guitar World interview.
The simplicity of the greeting speaks volumes about quality versus quantity – a lesson lost on many.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:34 am
amen to your post FAMAC, the band owes us nothing, and I’d be happy to hear anything they release, whenever they decide to.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:36 am
You know all you haters bashing EVH for a new album will just complain when it finally does comes out later this year! You can’t please the haters because they are special and mentally challenged!!! It’s time to line up haters, here comes the the short yellow bus!!!!!
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:46 am
Still no music just the same old lame crap from has beens
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:49 am
At least Sam an Mike are producing NEW music and not reconstituted music from the last century.
January 2nd, 2010 at 8:54 am
FAMAC… The problem is the quality. No matter what they are going to be compared to the ones they kicked out in chickenfoot. And the quality greeting by CF and Sammy acknowledges that they are nothing without fans. I consider that lame pic and generic greeting a slap in the face considering all the money and time I’ve spent following VH. I honestly just wish they would retire and “officially” quit making music (they really quit after the best of unless you call Ed’s porn music VH). Stringing fans along like this is the worst treatment. I will be surprised if there is new music in 2010 with Dave. I’ve spent all of the last decade waiting for a new album and checking vhnd almost daily. A decade wasted.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:32 am
new album & tour this summer/fall. dates are starting to get booked at US arenas.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:38 am
Dave Bridge,
1,000,000 FANS went to see and hear the greatest group of “has beens” and “last century” music!!!!!
Let us ALL know when the New music produced by Mike and Sam bring in that many fans!!!
Van Halen FOREVER!! POSER’S like Dave Bridge NEVER!!!!!
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:40 am
Nine months ago, we were told that they’d be focusing on an album “after June when Wolfie graduates high school and Ed’s wedding”.
So what comes first…Ed’s 5th year wedding anniversary, Wolfie’s Doctoral Thesis or a new album?
Please release some new material…I’m not going to pay for another album with “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” on it again.
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:48 am
Goodness you guys lol they were just giving a holiday message..it isn’t the end all be all lol. Have faith! I know its hard, but these things take time and what may be too much time to you may be exactly enough time for them to do something great. We just don’t know…Thanks for the message boys:)
Don’t be so harsh! I know its out of love for the band, but it obviously doesn’t go unnoticed as seen in Ed’s last interview…
January 2nd, 2010 at 9:59 am
Kimberly has it right. First off Happy new years right back. Harsh is a good word. I don`t understand there just tryin to be nice. People are crazy for sure and its not from the heat lololol.
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:05 am
Who cares who is singing or playing bass. At least they still seem to be together. I like Mike as much as the next guy, but Wolf is keeping them working so far. They were doing nothing with Mike and he got bored (which I don’t blame him). VH started as the Broken Combs with Ed and Al and will proibably end that way.
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:11 am
Everyone is making me start to think that Ed is right. That no matter what they do most of you WILL be very critical. At first people were critical that nothing is ever said. Now they send us a nice message and look how people complain. People, don’t you realize what VH just told us. That they are together still. There are modern day miracles and this is an extremely good sign. They have now been together with NO drama released for at least 2 years. Amazing…..
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:15 am
As I read more on here I can`t beleave how some people can be.The way I see it if new music comes it will be great not like alot of the crapola thats out to day.
Remember it`s not like it was 20yrs ago to put out new stuff. The bands have to put way more upfront now. It all takes time and I for one just don`t see the big rush just to have new music from a great band. So lets all be nice I think thats the best way.
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:16 am
Ed Shut up and play yer guitar!Band make a friggin statement on your future… you self centered A-holes!! ANd before I get any flame mail I’ve seen every tour since 79 I’m a die hard fan and would pay also to have Ed tune his guitar but enough is enough already.
January 2nd, 2010 at 11:18 am
Steve, Kimberly, FAMAC seriously? Twenty stock words from the PR wife that could have come off any faceless corporate Christmas card and a two and a half year old pic of the band (I’m not even going to count a 3 minute Photoshop lash up by Wolf) and this speaks volumes to you about the good health if the band? Jesus, I do more than that at Christmas for people I don’t even like, let alone for people like RickieVanWhalen who paid $700 for a ticket or myself who flew across the Atlantic just to see ‘em at MSG. I guess Ed was right, eh, they go to all that effort and all us ungrateful bastards do is complain!
January 2nd, 2010 at 11:23 am
Yes I am being serious. There’s a little saying that is when its out of your hands there is point in whining and crying because you can’t do anything about it anyway. You all should take note. They left us a legacy with plenty of music to keep us smiling everyday. Big surprise! Not everything always works in your favor. Be happy with what you get. Cause if you aren’t what exactly makes you think they are going to work hard to give you more? Being ungrateful is an ugly characteristic in my opinion. I may want and crave a tour and more musc and all that, but I am not gonna sit around cursing Eddie for taking time off. Its his life and he can do what he wants. End. of. story.
January 2nd, 2010 at 11:48 am
K…
all good points you made. But Ed still needs a non-whining kick, tough love style. Kinda like…you guys are great, but c’mon now. Remember what John Belushi (RIP) said in Änimal House…It ain’t over till we say it’s over!!
January 2nd, 2010 at 11:55 am
If you read what Eddie said he, Alex and Wolfie are a band. And if Dave wants to sing then maybe they should give him a call. In other words don’t hold your breath waiting for a new album in 2010.
January 2nd, 2010 at 12:09 pm
Trouser snake, or is that wishful thinking.I agree with BTD
January 2nd, 2010 at 12:12 pm
Karl Says “they go to all that effort and all us ungrateful bastards do is complain!”
Once upon a time they would have shifted heaven and earth to play for those ungrateful bastards.
Maybe Ed just forgets that without those ungrateful bastards he would have had to get a real job and work!
January 2nd, 2010 at 12:50 pm
I agree with Mikey, I’m not holding my breath for a new album. If they record, great. If not, that’s okay too. But I also agree with Kimberly that people are whining about something they can do nothing about. I doubt Ed visits this site, but I bet anything that Wolfie does. Why can’t people just be happy that Ed is healthy and is in a good relationship. Just quit whining people.
January 2nd, 2010 at 1:02 pm
Dave B, I agree with you. without fans to pay $700.00 to sit front row there would be no money to pay the bills, but he could retire van halen and do something else musically and we wouldn’t have a reason to get on this site and argue with each other. I just hope they dont do the same crap and carnival that kiss does. I would lose full respect for them I personally think that VH is a better band than kiss and I have all the respect for ED and whoever he chooses to jam with. We all agree and Disagree and that is what I like about this web site and comment board.
January 2nd, 2010 at 1:03 pm
Way to miss the point, Kimberly…
January 2nd, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Thanks guys, and I hope you have a great 2010. By the way, the Photoshopped bow is pretty weak, but I love the worked over and used look of the guitar … so much better than a pristine new one.
January 2nd, 2010 at 2:05 pm
I just wish everyone would stop complaining. Thats all.
January 2nd, 2010 at 3:15 pm
Good point Kimberly. We have a lot to be thankful for. Something else to think about…Over the years Ed has produced and recreated replica guitars, amps, picks, pedals and even cool shoes for the public. As for those who keep complain and can’t play music for shit, at least Ed is offering his signature products to people who love playing music or like collecting. I know a number of other guitar players who could do the same, but they don’t. Some of you probably will say he’s cashing in, but your not Eddie Van Halen, so stop thinkn for him…ungreatful I think not.
January 2nd, 2010 at 3:23 pm
if they “tour” this yr it better not be the same old shit!!
they better have release a new cd….
January 2nd, 2010 at 3:25 pm
Ed said he’s got a enough tunes for 10 albums that could be worked up and released. Dave said at the pre-tour presser that VH was now a new band with a future. Did they mean it? Maybe they did, sure hope so. But enough time has elapsed now. At least they should say something about the current status. The complaints are all about the lack of communication. To those complaining about the complaints, that’s showbiz. But we all still love Kimberly.
January 2nd, 2010 at 3:34 pm
SARA EVANS SHOULD BE THE NEW VAN HALEN SINGER, THEN WE’LL GET SOME NEW MUSIC
January 2nd, 2010 at 5:31 pm
Karl tells it like it is.
VH sent the lamest “Happy New Year” message in the history of the world and somehow that’s a sign of good things to come? VH has left us in the dark for 12 years, now a 2 second PR blurb is supposed to make up for it?
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:08 pm
Er…Happy New Year?
I agree….we were left with a lot of great music so I’m glad of that and happy I could see VH with DLR one last time if that’s what it was. New music would be a great bonus though…and for what it’s worth I think we will get a new cd at some point. Yeah, it’d be nice if the band could make a statement but perhaps they have good reasons for not doing so at the present time. I for one am happy that Ed is healthy and in a (hopefully) good relationship. Seeing him looking like the crazy cat lady and going down in flames in interviews gave me the major sads. As for MA, yeah it’d be cool if the band could get past their differences to tour as the original lineup but there’s always two sides to a story and if MA is happy where he’s at with Chickenfoot that’s ok too.
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:20 pm
David Bridge,
Unlike you, I’m not a POSER!!!!!!!
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:33 pm
I paid just over $700 for front row at MSG in May 08. This was a great show. I paid $600 for front row on Long Island in Nov 07 and it was so loud it pushed me back into my seat. On Long Island, Ed did his solo on the edge of ramp and that is where I was. I could have touched his feet if it wasn’t for the 7 foot security guard ready to boom bash me.
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Thanks Dooley lol:) I love you too!
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:50 pm
It’s funny but if they are making new music how come there’s been no talk of a producer etc. I don’t know seems we would have heard something.
January 2nd, 2010 at 11:10 pm
I would bet a large amount of money that Van Halen had nothing to do with this message.
January 3rd, 2010 at 12:17 am
Did they actually send this message to you or did you just lift it from Facebook? It was posted there a couple of days ago.
I notice there’s no mention of 2010 bringing a new album. What do you bet that the same message will show up next Jan. 1, with a whole year of nothing in the meantime?
January 3rd, 2010 at 6:53 am
Trouser Snake says:
January 2nd, 2010 at 6:20 pm
David Bridge,
Unlike you, I’m not a POSER!!!!!!!
Substitute the “P” and thats what you are
January 3rd, 2010 at 8:49 am
Karl,
Trust me.. No matter what they do people like you will complain. That’s what Ed is saying. I agree with him. Judging from your posts you have proven my point
January 3rd, 2010 at 8:53 am
Steve, you couldn’t possibly be more wrong.
January 3rd, 2010 at 9:48 am
I wouldn’t put to much stock in anything Eddie say’s about music, fans, the band or anything. He seems to be the one complaining about crap. Just say something to the fans.
January 3rd, 2010 at 10:03 am
Seeing the message on the VHND front page I immediately thought, Weak…. Pathetic… Disappointing
Let me tell you why….
I love Eddie and I really don’t care what singer he has because combined with Alex’s pounding drums and someone on Bass, that is the “Van Halen” sound.
But come on Eddie, either someone is really giving you bad advice on what the fans want, or you just don’t care. This is the best message your “team” suggested you make.
First up, if you can make it down to the studio to film a 30 second clip for Two and a half men, I am sure you can get someone to come to your house and film you giving a personal message to the fans. You and Alex have been the band for the last 12 years. No excuses about needing Dave to make a “band” video.
2) Since the fall of ’78 I have purchased all the albums, including “3″, been to most of the concerts, and always rooted for your success and well being. But throw us a bone, in this day and age of instant communication it is not hard to have more contact with the fans then you do. If you don’t want to do it, let Wolfie. But please have someone from the band send the occasional shout out.
3) Please, please, please put out a video from the last tour. I wasn’t able to spend $$$$ for front row seats but I did get tickets in the nose bleed seats. It was still a great time. I want to relive the experience over and over again. I can’t tell you have many times I have watched, “Live without a Net”. I need something new…
Eddie, I am ecstatic you are healthy; I hope you and your new wife are very happy and I wish you a great new year…
Just please throw us die hard fans the occasional bone. As others have suggested simple clips of you playing the guitar is all it would take. If I was one of your “circle” of handlers I would suggest a 60 second clip of a possible new song followed by a 30 second personal message.
Take care…. Die Hard Fan since ’78
January 3rd, 2010 at 10:50 am
release the killer and buy belize
January 3rd, 2010 at 2:42 pm
it’s the uncertainty that irks us.
January 3rd, 2010 at 6:39 pm
New album? Buehler, Buehler, Buehler, Buehler…when are you people going to realize they don’t give a shit? I love Van Halen but they have run me over too many times.
January 4th, 2010 at 7:07 am
Who cares about a holiday greeting. Seriously.
It’s barely into 2010 and people are writing off the album that is coming out in 2010 and never was supposed to come out before that. Apparently, 2010 is almost over.
January 4th, 2010 at 9:03 am
Why do you guys keep insisting on making comments TO Eddie and VH on here??? THEY DON”T READ THIS SITE!!! It’s not a site VH controls!!!
Besides that, the rest of you that REALLY believe that “2010 is Van Halen’s year” and “there’s new music coming” need to climb out of your mommy’s basement and come back to reality. There’s nothing coming anytime soon. I hope I’m wrong on that but a photoshopped holiday greeting posted a week AFTER Christmas (and 3 weeks after Hanukkah for you DLR fans) is pretty lame.
January 4th, 2010 at 10:43 am
“THEY DON”T READ THIS SITE!!!”
I wouldn’t be too sure about that after reading the Guitar World interview…
January 4th, 2010 at 11:47 am
Wow. That’s it? Even Clark Griswald got a subsciption to the jelly of the month club. But the fact that a picture with all of them together on it continues to give me hope……
January 4th, 2010 at 12:17 pm
Jesus; What a bunch of F*ckn cryin` jaded Fags. All your panties in a bunch over a simple picture&message.=VH= could`ve given you worthless whiners a video of each of them walking on water but you all would`ve complained that they can`t even swim, there is NO pleasing you.Sounds like half of you won`t be satisfied until Ed sends his wife to your house & gives you all B.J.`s while apologizing for the way Ed hurt you.
SHAME ON YOU& GROW THE FUCK UP
January 4th, 2010 at 12:50 pm
I am pretty sure the wifey reads this site. I am personally glad she is.
I personally think the problem is that EVH’s music is way too progressive for either Dave or Sam. Do you remember the drama with the new songs with Dave on the greatest hits. DLR apparently had to listen to dozens of tunes before he landed on Me Wise Magic (GREAT TUNE) and Can’t Get This Stuff (Just and OK Tune). You could say the same thing with Sammy and “It’s About Time.” Clearly Sammy was having trouble keeping up. VH3 was obviously the same thing: The music is very progressive and even jazz like.
EVH is evolving well beyond tradition rock jams. I personally love it and wish he would just put out instrumental stuff and rid himself of all the LSD in his life.
I love it even more without the vocals Jannie and Ed.
January 4th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
The only thing i don’t get is why eddie doesnt release a box set! I’m a huge kiss and ac/dc fan and they gave their fans what they knew they wanted….live concerts, video’s….they are telling their fans thanks! I know some of you say eddie doesnt owe us anything and thats true, but neither did kiss or ac/dc and they gave the poeple what they wanted! To have all that stuff lying around knowing the fans want it,well that says alot!
January 4th, 2010 at 1:04 pm
Russ, that pic is two and a half years old.
RickieVW, I’m not sure that is a problem. Ed’s music has always been a step ahead of rock in general and I think the singers have always had to work hard to keep up. And Me Wise Magic is what keeps me moist about VH – it just shows what magic can still happen when Ed and Dave get together. I think it’s as good as anything they’ve ever produced. I think an album full of that kind of stuff could be right up there with Fair Warning.
January 4th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Oh, and one of the things that I think is really great about Me Wise Magic is the way it plays to the strengths of Roth’s now more mature voice.
January 4th, 2010 at 2:15 pm
hell yeah hope to hear you guys blaze through the airwaves soon! Rock on in 2010 =VH=!!!
January 4th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
How about the tunes recorded in 2000 that never saw the light of day. thats a good place to start.

Every time that VH said they would release an album, they have. There is no indication that there won’t be one sometime in 2010.

I would like to have seen a video posted. Being a fan, it would have been cool to see them in a video together, just for the reason of being able to see them as recently as possible, and to see them Healthy and Happy. I want those guys to live forever. And also to show that the band is still intact with Dave. Which I guess it is or they wouldn’t have posted this picture with him in it.
I hope 2010 brings new kick ass rock and roll from the best rock band in history!

Fools…a song written by van halen telling the future of their fans…really? i laugh my ass off at those here that think Eddies working on a new album…i come here to laugh.lololhahahaha…Chickenfoot is current…Vh is old classic…how can anyone even compare….jealousy most likely…your all purple faced and still holding your breath…thats why eddie doesnt realease anything…because your all kissing his ass….kick it and there will be a new song…an album is way too much to ask

Quit complaining and whinning? I’m not the one giving interviews to the media (which coincided with Chickenfoot release) about a new album coming out. Sorry but if the leader of a rock group (Eddie) wants to pull an Axel Rose (Chinese Democracy) then it’s fitting that rumors of these two groups tour together since we can expect a new VH album in about another 10 yrs.

what new album?
January 6th, 2010 at 11:12 am
axeshredder:
You’re absolutly right.
There is no comparison between chickenfoot and old classic halen….
Chickenfoot is a “project” I give another year tops, while VH will always remain the “greatest” american rock “band”.
Over 25 years of music compared to not even one?
Get a clue….

There’s a thought (redarrow5150): Axl Rose needs a band and VH habitually needs a singer: Guns n’ Halen or Van Rose. Anyone?

Karl – VH has better things to do than read a fan website. Or maybe not since they haven’t done squat in the past 2 years let alone put out new music in over 6 years.
Phillster – Relax dude…you’re gonna give yourself a hernia. At the same time, come on back to reality that VH doesn’t care about you.
RickieVanWhalen – What the hell are you listening too??? VH sounds “jazz like”??? And Jannie isn’t reading this…she’s too busy figuring out how SHE can be the next in line to destroy VH.
Axeshredder – At least Chickenfoot is doing SOMETHING! But I agree with you in coming here to laugh at everyone believing that the mad scientist (Eddie) has somenew music on his bunson burner just waiting to explode in 2010. That won’t happen for yet another decade!
Duck – Incredibly you remain clueless yourself. You can’t compare VH to Chickenfoot so stop right there. In Chickenfoot you have the half of VH that actually wanted to make music so how can you criticize them? They’ll be around for much longer than “another year…tops” my friend. On the other hand, you have the current guys in VH that apparently are content with doing “Greatest Hits from the 70s & 80s” tours and NO new material. We’ll see how long that ship sails, won’t we now???

thanks andym, you must be a carpenter because you hit the nail on the head with these guys. the guys can’t accept the fact that eddie doesn’t care about the fans until he needs money. next year this time these boys will be saying that there will be a new album in 2011. just wait.

Thank you for calling a reality break. Getting shitfaced and/or stoned listening to any of the old albums isn’t going to bring about anything for 2010. Yeah, they indicated something was on the way, but it will only take away from the vintage Roth era. Eddie’s SOBER now. He is in his mid 50s, has battled cancer, hand problems, his own endless demons, etc. Why do so many people here feel like VHIV would be some type of combination of the first 4 albums?? He might be in charge of what he writes and plays, but he’s beholden to the corporation, and, as scripted as the last tour was, the next one (if there is one-hardly a sure thing at this point) will be even more so. He won’t play with DLR unless DLR shuts up and stays “subdued” (as another poster accurately put it). What kind of VH is it that has DLR silent and subdued????????????? It is a VH of (legal) contracts, and one between EVH and DLR that actually limits what DLR can say and do (yes, I’m guessing a bit here, but it doesn’t take a genius based on observing the last 2 years imo…). I didn’t go see any of the reunion shows-though I could have afforded the good seats if I really wanted to (and part of me really did). I’ve seen enough reunion shows (Who, Stones, KISS), and other shows (Megadeth even!!), where performances were staged and the same lines/stories were said (word for word) over and over and over again. I definitely don’t want to remember VH as a band that was able to get along just enough to sign contracts to keep everyone in their place and go out and pretend they’re still 28 when the AARP is knocking. It f@&%ing nullifies why they got into it in the first place. Why bother?? Because the $ is just too tempting-not ’cause the fans have a special place in their hearts. I don’t believe that for a minute.

Dude are you serious? Go read the music chart for VH3 and ask yourself: Is this jazz? these are some funny looking chords in these tunes? look at how he contorts his fingers all over the fretboard? jeez, this doesn’t look or sound like AC/DC dudes!
get yourself into rehab dude.

Andym: I am Steeped in reality(until i choose not to).It doesn`t bother me that “=VH= doesn`t care about me” anymore than you do.I can STILL care about them,-It`s called being a fan.”At the same time”,I could give a shit about you,do you care?-probably not.The majority of bloggers here are real
“the glass is 1/2 empty”types always bitchin&comparing nonsense.I`m a =VH= fan whose glass is ALWAYS 1/2 full.
Probably`cause I`m not a 51yrold fan yet.Just trying to top-off some 1/2 empty glasses(but i always leave a mess)

This is just $ business. All the Sammy photos on the VH web site. If they hated each other, don’t you tink e(Eddie) – excuse me – must use capitals for a god, would be able to remove them. It is all about the all might $. Ediie has been given a talen from “GOD”. Regardless of the controversy and his foul mouth, Eddie is a MEGA talented musician that cannot be from study, training, and practice alone. It is a gift, exploited, perverted, or used for the betterment of man kind, still he has is gifted in writing, guitar, piano, arranging, managing, ect. – he has it – I wish I did. Would love to see this talent without the f word and others. He has a gift that cannot be bought. Use for for the glory of the one that gave it to you.

I cant bring myself to see van halen again unless there’s a new album. I know they want to record a new album but it needs to be delivered without being stolen from free downloads to at least make it worth their while.’
