I hope Chickenfoot stays together for as long as humanly possible.
I think Chickenfoot has the potential to be legendary.
Sammy hasn’t lost the fire after all of these years.
I am very grateful for all of the years of rock and roll, the good times and memories I have and also his undying commitment and appreciation he shows to his fans.
Can’t wait to see what the future brings!

Chickenfoot is the bee’s knees. It is so refreshing to hear positive, fun loving, uplifting, fan appreciative, comments from a band who still obviously lives being positive, fun loving, uplifting, and fan appreciative. Sammy is only doing this to try to turn all the fans against Van Halen. He knows that fans are comparing what VH is doing the past year to what Chickenfoot has been doing the past year.

Man, even though I’m not a huge CF fan, they are such a “full-service” band. Holiday greetings and everything… They even sent me a Christmas card at my house! (Just kidding). They are really trying to win us all over.

When’s the last time EVH sent me anything? Oh yeah, he scr**ed me on that Peavey 5150 combo I bought that sucked- no good dirty sound, no good clean sound (fixed that problem by going back to Marshall like anyone playing VH should if they want “the sound”). Seriously though, the CF are trying their best to be as fan-oriented as VH isn’t.

Jim – Boy, you must be right. I’m sure Sammy gets no satisfaction over being in chickenfoot, making his loyal fans happy and winning over new ones. He sure seems like a really angry guy who isn’t having any fun at all in his life. So that of course must mean he’s only doing this to turn people against VH.

Chickenfoot is Chickenfoot period I am a big fan and follow….i don’t recall anything good or bad about Van halen since they have formed. theyre just makin sweet music and takin care of their fans! If you hate the music its your loss. I just hope Eddie takes care of the fans this year too. a new VH album will be sweet!

i dont think its about trying to win us over…VH has nothing to do with chickenfoot…its only this site that seems they should be grouped together…Chickenfoot is respectful to the fans and they money they spend. They could care less if you dont like them. …and really any VH fans that doesnt like them..well its a personal issue…these guys wrote a great album and have a great website and a few computer guys who interact with the fans…not hard to do when they were rich already…its not about money…eddie should watch and learn by example

And to Jim, maybe Chickenfoot is doing it without any external motivation related to Van Halen. I know it may seem odd to you but Sammy and Mike may have gotten on with their life, even though you apparently haven’t.

My God, so many of you sound like such bitter VH fans. You’d think by now you’d know better than to sit around getting pissed off at every reminder of how VH isn’t doing anything. If you don’t like Chickenfoot’s music because you don’t like it, good for you. If you don’t like Chickenfoot because you’re jealous of their success while VH does nothing, then get over it. Joe Satriani- lead guitar, Michael Anthony- bass, Sammy Hagar -vocals, Chad Smith-drums. I think that pretty much explains it.
They have only released one album so that’s why I said potential. Because the band consists of all already established, veteran musicians that have been kicking ass for decades. Their debut album already went gold and they are busting at the seams with energy and are being supported by equally excited fans that have been following these guys throughout their long separate careers as musicians.
There seems to be, in my opinion, potential for a legendary band here.
I haven’t been this excited about a new rock band in a long time, so I say again, when I make a comment about how I feel about a band it’s just my opinion and how I personally feel. I didn’t think I made that bold of a statement.
My views and opinions on Chickenfoot do not in anyway clash with how I feel about Van Halen. When I express gratitude or praise for Chickenfoot it is not meant to downplay Van Halen in any way. They are two completely separate entities. When I talk about one I’m not referring to the other in any indirect way.
I was obviously A Van Halen fan long before I was a Chickenfoot fan.
Everybody knows Van Halen established themselves and achieved legendary status long ago.
I’m not into the whole argument and debate of former VH members or whatever. I don’t know why some people have trouble getting that you can be a fan of Van Halen and Chickenfoot. Same goes for being a fan of David Lee Roth AND Sammy Hagar.
It really doesn’t make anyone a bigger Van Halen fan by going around and saying that every other band sucks.
Van Halen is a ridiculously awesome legendary band, but there are also other great bands out there too.
And the comment Jim made about Sammy only being in Chickenfoot to turn fans against Van Halen…. sometimes there aren’t words to express. Maybe clueless. I don’t know. Laughably ridiculous maybe.
I don’t think Famac and some other people understand what this site is. This isn’t the official Van Halen news site. If you want only Van Halen news, check out the official Van Halen website.
This site is operated by fans. It was started by VH fans, but Chickenfoot is included in the subheading. The people that started this website decide what to post on this website. Not Chickenfoot or Van Halen. Anyone who complains about the content on this FREE site is like complaining about what’s on your free local radio station. If you don’t like it, you can turn it off or turn the freaking station.
Anyone can start their own website and put whatever the hell they want on it. Anyone can create a fansite.

I like Van Halen. I like Chickenfoot. I like David Lee Roth. I like Sammy Hagar. I also like Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Aerosmith, ACDC, etc.

I don’t think there are any conspiracies or is even a conscious effort on anyone’s part to one up anyone else. Two different bands take two different approaches to marketing themselves. One is long established, the other is brand new.

2010 should be a great year. If Van Halen tours, I will be there. If Chickenfoot tours, I will be there.

After reading some of the posts here it seems there are some bitter angry people. It almost seems like some people get upset about the success of Chickenfoot. I don’t understand that at all.

If Eddie and Alex posted a video wishing their fans Merry Christmas or a happy new year, everyone (including me) would think it was cool and appreciate it. That’s all.
That’s why the fans of Chickenfoot like it. Can ya’ll not understand that?

Chad Smith is a crazy hyperactive man-child. I love that guy. That was insane when he hit Sammy in the head though, damn. I thought I had A.D.D.
Sammy made me laugh at the end talking like we were little kids. “Now let me do this, I’ve got work to do.” and the forklift elephant. WTF!?
It’s pretty cool that Joe, Mike, Sammy and Chad take time out to make these goofy little videos for the fans which gives them a chance to thank everybody. They sure seem to appreciate everybody and want the fans to be involved in as much as they can. I wish more bands did this kind of thing.

It don’t get why someone would take the time to make a negative comment about these Chickenfoot videos. I mean, it just comes across as absurd hatefulness. I guess it doesn’t really matter what negative things are said. There isn’t any point or purpose in them, other than being a measure of someone’s personal animosity and resentful personality.

The best part about these little videos to me is the fact that the band cares enough to keep the fans updated, and also to show that they’re being consistent in what they do. I’m glad I saw them during the tour, and I hope that they have an even brighter future. Best of luck to ‘em!

What I said about van zepplin was just a joke ….i look forward to new VH as much as all of you. The mighty VH brought me through high school for cryin out loud! I’ll always be a fan but i also love the foot. By goin to Joes shows (10 times) throughout the 80′S and 90′s turned me on to some great musicians like Stu hamm and Eric Johnson & Kenny Wayne Shepard so I also owe Joe alot. just listen to all…..As fans we can only benifit and enjoy so stop the competion and enjoy…We are the lucky ones!!!!!(P.S. if you haven’t heard Stu Hamm try him out I love mike too but for instrumental bass Stu is awsome).

No, Sammy didn’t do the whole chickenfoot album and tour and all the other stuff to spite Van Halen. I’m not saying that.
Don’t get me wrong.. I like Sammy. He’s a cool guy, extremely talented, full of energy, and LIVES life. He is probably the most active musician of this era.

But Sammy kind of always needs to have the last word or action. It’s just the way he is.. no big deal.
Do I think he does everything to spite Van Halen? NO.
I do think he knows what’s going on and will say or do little things here and there that try to show to people that he is the good guy and the current Van Halen is kind of the opposition and they do things different that is not as good as the way Sammy does it. Sammy knows there is a decent fan base that carry over/overlap from VH.
I feel like I can kind of see thru Sammy’s actions/words sometimes.

Chickenfoot pays attention and enjoys their fans…i personally have been in contact with them from front row,twitter, theyve used my videos, used my photos..sent me a gift (freekin awesome) due to a mishap with the Chickenfoot Movie One Night Only Dec 1st show.

I saw Eddie 3 shows from the pit and first row..i couldnt even get a pick when all VIP’s should have ( he sent out a cup of 10 picks..cheap)Alex signed my banner but i had to beg

..but mike gave me jacks, a pick, a beer..and Sammy signed my banner. They did the same at the Chickenfoot show..beer and banner..lol. Thay the kinda guys they are….Joe and Chad too.

Vh music has its permanent place in my heart but Chickenfoot ownes me…and im proud of it..great guys who really care about there fans…kinda nice the big rockstars are reaching out but Eddie is still to big to be friendly? honest? pay someone to reach out to the fans whom are sending them his paycheck?….Chickenfoots website has reg updates, contests, messages and so much media from their one world tour…already blows away the VH site…a bore.

What do you mean he’s fooled people? He makes music and some people dig it. That’s why people listen to certain musicians because they like the music. Nobody has to be fooled into listening to something. Of course Sammy does it because HE wants to. He eats because he’s hungry, not to make the chef feel good about himself.
I’ve never heard Sammy say he’s doing what he’s doing JUST for the fans. He recognizes and gives credit for what the fans have helped him achieve.
Geez, you fault someone just because they’re cool enough to give thanks to his fans for what they give back to him.

I’ve never heard or read that Sammy said he does it ALL for the fans. I’ve heard him and Mike say they do certain things for the fans, but not everything is done JUST for them or ALL for them.
Nobody makes music ONLY or JUST for the fans or does it ALL for the fans. Inspiration and motivation comes from all areas, not just one.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think you are waaaayyy off about Sammy and his motives for making music and his desire for money.
Every musician starts out wanting to get tons of poon and become rich and famous through the success of their music, but that happened for Sammy decades ago. I mean, he has more money than his kids’ kids could ever spend. He has worked hard to be where he is and to make the money that he has. He didn’t inherit his wealth.
I’m sure he gets motivated in other ways. One of those ways is probably, like every other musician or performer, taking the stage in front of thousands of screaming fans and getting inspiration and a high from that. Of course the fans provide some motivation.
But he’s a musician. He loves making music just to make music. More than anything that’s the reason he does it.
If you saw him at a live show you would see how much he’s into the fans. He has built areas on stage for fans to hang out during the shows, he is always thanking everyone and saying how much they mean to him. I’ve never seen anyone take so much time to sign so many autographs and just talk to fans like a normal guy would, he doesn’t act like a “Rock Star”.
He gives a lot of his time and money to benefit charities and he has given plenty of free shows and continues to do that all the time. Anybody who gives money away and does what they do for free usually isn’t in it for the money.
Why give someone shit about making money anyway? He worked for it and achieved his success through tough times and hard work, the same as anybody.
He has made lots of money and has the opportunity to live a good life because the music he has made has been supported by so many people. That’s why he is so grateful to his fans, because he recognizes that.
