I think you are right on, but I also think that it's that disconnect that confuses a lot of idiots, who, for that matter, continue to rank Paige and Hendrix above Eddie. Paige, Hendrix, and others are fine fine artists. But Eddie is in a totally more advanced strata. If folks continue to rank guitarists, they must face reality and have EVH at the very top or just keep him off the list 'cause he's above and beyond anyone when it comes to music and guitar. I love the bit when Eddie comes out from the vocal chorus bit at the end, you can hear the noise crackle of him turning up the volume nob.
