Sammy man, you’re a great. Love all the work you do. Before and after VH. Hell, When you and Mikey were apart of the VH they were the best times of my life and all of you guys kicked ass. VH never sounded better, period! The record sales show that. Can’t argue with the facts. But can you do a friggin’ interview just one time without bringing up Eddie. Come on Man, it’s getting old. I know you miss working with him, hanging out, whatever!!! If you didn’t, you wouldn’t bring him up in every interview. To be fair there are alot of interviewers that will ask you something about EVH or the band alone, but not this time. The sad thing is you will not even read my comment(s) to prove me wrong. If so, I wish you all the very best and simply keep on rockin’

I understand Sammy bringing VH up in interviews sometimes. I mean he was in the band for like 10 years. They were probably like brothers at one time. I’m sure his feelings about the band and the guys in the band will always be pretty close to the surface. I’m sure Van Halen still means a lot to him. I think when he said something like ‘look how long it’s been since Van Halen put out something’, he’s not trying to take a shot at VH. He’s thinking about the fans who have been waiting and wanting new Van Halen for so long.
I think he and Mike are both have been upset about what’s happened to the band. The disintegration and everything, (ie. Rock and roll hall of fame induction.) I’m always interested in what Sammy and Mike have to say about VH. They don’t take cheap shots to tear down the Van Halen brothers. They just speak the truth, they probably still love those guys. Their friendship’s are messed up but that doesn’t mean they still don’t care about em.
I bet if Eddie called Mike and said “do you wanna come to the studio and play bass on a new record?” Mike would be like Hell Yeah! And Sammy would be happy for him. Sammy has said he thinks Van Halen should reunite with Roth, because that’s what so many fans want

I love when people say record sales show how good a band is.Number one,it shows how many people have a taste for that kind of music whether its a passing fad,garbage-over-produced-bubble-gum-crap, or just good music…..Number two it Does not show its the best’ version of anything period. Record sales are for suits with no rhythm , heart or soul…so keep saying ‘record sales prove it’…..it shows how much heart you have

If one remembers in past interviews, Sammy had said, he thought he would end his career in VH. Things all happen for a reason and, of course, we all know. Mikey SHOULD be in VH. C’Mon Eddie, let people have their creative outlets…I wanna make sure that my son does well in life, but damn…let Wolf earn his stripes and put Mikey back where he belongs. He can then be with Sam when they are on break….LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN THIS YEAR. The peppers haven’t kicked Chad out have they???

Hey jano2412! Take a friggin’ Chill Pill! I’ve been a huge Van Halen fan for over 30 years now. Gone over a dozen Van Halen concerts. Both David & Sammy. I’ve loved them all. I’m not going to let some stranger(you) tell me who the is real Van Halen. So I do F…..g Get IT!!!
And pushtoshove! Yes, the record does prove the facts. I’ve heard just as much heart & soul during their times with Sammy. And to give credit where credit is do. Fair Warning is and always will be my favorite Album. 5150 would come in 2nd. If anything I do show alot of heart and will continue enjoying all eras of Van Halen and will continue expressing my opinion.

The Hagar-Roth debate is so pointless. To say Van Halen with Hagar wasn’t Van Halen doesn’t even make sense. If you asked Eddie “Was Van Halen with Sammy Hagar still Van Halen?” he would probably think you’re an idiot. Millions of record sales and millions of fans, and Eddie and Alex would agree both eras were great.
If you prefer the Roth era Van Halen better, that’s fine. But to state your opinion with such conviction like it’s fact is just plain dumb.
Roth left Van Halen, they didn’t kick him out. What were the rest of the guys in the band supposed to do? Call it quits, or wait around for 10 or 20 years and wait for Roth to come back. Jeez.

Props panama red. both frontmen were great in their own right. Dave will always be more popular because he was the first and the original singer. I love both singers to this day. 50/50. Vh is my band and i love all aspects. I just think the die hard roth fans were a little pissed VH had success with hagar. However, if VH failed with hagar, we as fans who love ALL of VH would not of had 4 more albums of music! If vh were to do a new album with dave, which i hope like everyone else, i would embrace it the same as i would a new vh album with hagar. To me its all VH!

RA 812- I completely and totally agree with your last statement. Except the fact that I’ll never be cool with the absence of Mike.(Sammy wouldn’t do a new VH album or tour without Mike, but Roth seems to not care or stand up for Mike) But I LOVE both eras. Roth and Hagar. I think I listen to them equally. It just depends what mood I’m in.
