The Red Rocker himself, Sammy Hagar, paid a visit to his newly-opened Las Vegas restaurant and nightlife experience Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Sat., Nov. 14. Hagar delivered his official seal of approval before getting up on top of the bar to toast the energetic crowd with his signature Waborita margarita. Hagar and his wife stayed to dine at the Cantina where they sampled a variety of sizzling items including Cabo Wabo’s signature fajitas, nachos and guacamole.

The entire performance was shown live on the oversized LED video screen above Cabo Wabo Cantina facing Las Vegas Boulevard outside of the Miracle Mile Shops.

Just three days into its opening, Cabo Wabo Cantina has already hosted thousands of guests. Serving up a flavorful blend of Tex-Mex and coastal Mexican cuisine with contemporary flare, Hagar’s Vegas Cantina is his second location, off the success of his flagship Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The hard-rockin’ dining and nightlife experience combines a high energy atmosphere with live music, great food and a vivacious outdoor patio, where it is never uncommon to rub elbows with the rock ‘n’ roll great himself or catch him in a live jam-out session on stage.

Ya’ll gotta realize that Sammy & Eddie are two different people.. Since being booted from VH,, Sammy has kept himself busy by doing stuff with the Wabo’s, CF, His family, & the business. He has fun and you can see it and feel it when you listen to his CD’s. Eddie on the other hand has been hiding.. And so be it.. He has earned that right… When he wants to do something,, he will… I just better not hold my breath….

Lordy, LORDY! What a fantastic time a the Cabo Wabo in Vega$! Sammy knows HOW to throw a PARTY!

I was blessed to have been coming out of the bathroom right when he took the stage with the house band. I planted myself at the foot of the stage to the right and was in the right place at the right time when Sammy started singing “Mas Tequila” and he took a swig off a fresh bottle of Cabo Wabo, then handed it TO ME!!!

From what I’m told (it’s a little blurry), I was obviously stunned, grabbed the bottle like a chalice, looked at it like a gift from God, blinked a couple of times, threw it back, then passed it back to the Red Rocker himself!!!!

Does anyone have a setlist from the show?

Ok, I got a few more details from my more lucid friends that were there.

He came on at Midnight and played four songs, three of them were “Rock Candy”, “Mas Tequila”, & closed with the Beatles cover “Come Together”. Don’t know what the other song was (but if anyone does, please post).

I don’t want to hear from ANY of the “haters” about how he “only played four songs”. He didn’t have to play at all, it was a soft opening to make sure everything was working right before the grand opening in December when Chickenfoot comes calling to open the club formally and IN STYLE. I wish I could be there for that one.

It was awesome and I loved it!

We had a BLAST when “Da Man” showed up on Saturday!! It was so great to see all the REDheads & we cant wait til Grand Opening Weekend Dec 4th with Sammy & the Wabos!!

Set list for Sat’s mini-show with our houseband Aces Over Kings…Loud, Rock Candy, Mas Tequila & Come Together.

I was disappointed to not see Hailey (sp??) there the night Sammy played (she was working the bar in the afternoon on Friday and said gave me the tip that Sammy was coming and I should return with my friends Saturday night).

She was the hottest woman I saw in Vega$ the whole weekend.

Even in my drunken stupor, Saturday night is a night I’ll NEVER forget.

We were walking down the strip and saw sammy on the big screen. We thought it was taped until he mentioned las vegas. Couldn’t believe he was actually there! We walked right in and got right to the front easy!! Sweet!! Wish we could be there for the whole show in December.

What a great night for everyone there. I’ve heard nothing but great things about Sammy’s appearance and the Cantina. I must admit that I’m a very proud “mom” as that’s my son, Sean DeVincent, on the drums behind Sammy. His band, Aces Over Kings, had an awesome time and were very honored to share the stage with one of rock’s “GREATS!”
