People dont like VH when they dont say anything, they are masters for keeping their fans in the dark.
But people hate Sam when he ANSWERS a question about the band he saved, thats right saved.
Then people started hating the perenial all round great guy Mike, cause wait fir it, he was not only answering fans and the press’s questions, he was giving the same repsonses as Sam, is Mike lying too?
Then you got Dave, who lets face it has always said Ed and Alex were ordinary human beings (until he needed them for $$$$$) who stated in his book, the tomb by which CVH boffins worship like the good book, that the brothers CREATED a situ that forced Sam to leave.
Gee, there are alot of people with a common thread here, and it revolves around the nature of one EVH.
Are they all lying? Or is it just Ed who is straight up ith what goes down?
I know if I joined a business when it was without a leader (VH 1985) and I helped not only continue the success, but build on it, then was kicked out, I’d be happy to let everyone know the real deal too, so I think if anyone has the RIGHT to comment, when asked, about VH and EVH, well, SH and MA certainly have the qualifications.

I love Sammy and Dave but we all know Gary was the best. Listen to the song Once off of VH III. Maybe they’ll get back with Gary and finally release that second album with Gary. Sammy does have one of the greatest voices!!! Jack I also think you’re a homo!!!

I think Gary tells Nuno that he’d better carry his bags and be happy that he is allowing him to play with him, because if Eddie ever comes to his senses and brings him back they’ll actually release that second album and The world will cower in fear!!! He probably makes Nuno pay his tab at the bars just because he got to stand beside Eddie!! That makes him legendary!!! Sammy not charitable? Get your facts straight.

DlR opened and honest? He’s got a friggin’ gag order on him and he can’t speak crap, otherwise we would have heard from him.

Record Sales? It’s been said before and I’ll say it again. One of the main reasons for why DLR-VH albums have such a huge advantage over SH-VH albums is because of when they were released. The David Lee Roth-VH albums were released when people purchased LP’s. Who the hell has an LP player anymore? If you do, it’s not ancient because it probably wouldn’t work and you purchased a new one recently because of a nostalgia thing.

After LP’s, everyone “upgraded” their (SAME) albums to Tape, and then to CD, and then to MP3.

Sammy Hagar-VH albums lived through (the end of) tapes, and then into CD’s. The first CD Player was released in 1982 and the first SH-VH album was released in 1985.

Furthermore, the DLR-VH albums “NEEDED” to be remastered because the original masters weren’t of great quality. The SH-VH albums were mastered properly from the beginning – mostly because of the new technologies that were out at the time.

Nuff said – end of debate.

Gary4life sounds like the VH boys sodimized Gary to intiate him in the band and now Gary make Nuno do the same. From what I saw on “That Metal Show” it looked like Nuno was the dominate one though. But I have to say Florentine ragged on Gary a bit.

I’m not angry. I just think it’s a little ridiculous to come into the VHND and try to use this as a platform about Alcohol abuse or to tear down one lead singer vs another. I happen to love all aspects of Van Halen and just think you are missing the mark and being focused on all the wrong things my man. Of course you are entitled to your own opinions. But we are in the VHND. Let’s all just learn to love and respect our band!! I was wrong to tear you down, I was just trying to be funny dude. Lighten up a little buddy. I’m really not as shallow as my last post but I just don’t think this is a platform for issues like charity and world hunger. We’ve got greater concerns with jobs in our own country. I agree alcoholism can be a problem. I’m sorry if someone you know or love is battling that. It’s a dark depressing thing. There are a lot of great programs out there man. But you can only quit if you really want to. So Jack, let me ask you, what us your favorite album by Vann Halen? What songs really turned you on to Van Halen? Let’s have a good discussion about what your passion for music is? How bout instead of me being an immature asshole let’s talk about that. I may not have the insight or concerns about world issues as you, but I bet I have a lot of the same passions about our band as you do. If you were to put a mix cd of your favorites of Van Halen which ones would you include?

To All, My original post was stating how much of a puke Sammy is. It escalated from there into personal attacks. My original post was reacting to the circus clown mentality of the almighty Sam. I generally don’t respond to any kind of discussion forum. This one got under my skin. My cause isn’t world hunger or alcoholism. My concern is the fact that our country is in serious trouble and everyone is so self absorbed they don’t realize it. We are a great society. I think we lost our bearings and we need to get it back on track. Our country is split down the middle. This side want’s this. That side want’s that. This isn’t about politics guys, its about right and wrong, good and evil. Our citizens need to find a common focal point, and pull together rather than point fingers and lay blame. Who knows, it may be too late. The fact is we need to wake up.

And the point I was trying to make to you, Jack, is that Sammy is the wrong guy to criticize for all of these troubles you speak of. I don’t know why you think he’s self absorbed. Sure, he’s got a large ego given his fame, etc. But the fact of the matter is he takes care of the people who gave him what he has and he also takes care of many, many people who can’t take care of themselves through his various charitable efforts. I hear what your saying about how things have gone seriously off the rails but I think if people had attitudes more like Sammy’s, we’d all be a lot happier.

I enjoy all of their music. My favorite is probably Balance. I do not have to prove myself to you or anyone else about my knowledge of the band. I wouldn’t be on this site if I wasn’t a fan. I come here to obtain information on the progress of the next record/tour.

Balance was one of my favorites as well. I really loved that album and the direction they were headed at that time. I even sat through Twister to hear Humans Being. Man that was so kick ass. Jack, I recently got the Japanese version of Balance and it has a slightly different album cover and an extra song “Crossing Over”. Have you heard that? It’s pretty good. I was devastated when Sammy was kicked out and was really upset when that took place. It wasn’t until recently I bought and listened to VH III with Cherone. I was excited with the return of Dave and loved the last tour. I just wish we’d get a new album. I can’t wait to see what it’ll be like.

Anyone who publicly makes derogatory comments about someone else is compromising their integrity. There is plenty of insecurity and consequently bitterness in past and present members of Van Halen. If these musicians cared for the fans they would not release Best ofs with two or three new tracks on; they would release an EP. It’s a money making machine and neither Roth, Hagar or the Van Halens appear to give two hoots about their fans. Those concert ticket prices in 07/08 were unjustifiably extortionate. And where was the new album? My guess is that Eddie Van Halen is a pretty lonely, insecure and bitter person. But perhaps that’s how it goes when you’re such a revered musician.

I really don’t fault Sammy for anything. He’s out there giving us awesome music. I believe Sammy 100%. What has Sammy done to us that he lied about? I love Eddie but when you have two lead singers 1st with Dave leaving Eddie said Dave was fired Dave said he left on his own becauseof all the bullshit. Then Sammy was fired, Sammy said he was fired and Eddie said Sammy quit. And now Michael was fired, Ed says he quit. Someone is lying here. I tend to believe Sammy Mike and Dave. I know Dave in the past was a little out of control, but it always seems shady of Eddie. Don’t get me wrong I love Eddie but just tell the truth you know? We are your fans. I do not fault Sammy at all. Sammy has wanted Van Halen back together forever now. He even was for the Van Halen with Dave and said it needed to be done. He just wanted Eddie healthy. Sure he’s pissed and hurt with the way it went down. Wouldn’t you be? I know I’d be down after not being in the greatest band. Well now we have Chickenfoot. Everybody wins!!!!!

U clowns keeping writing about how cool VH was back in 81′ and how Roth is coming back they haven’t done a frickin thing but grab our money people. Move on people there is no MIGHTY in VH it’s been gone and it ain’t comin back…..wake up!!! I’m here to hear about CF and see any archeived VH material that may show up on the site. I’m a fan of who VH was not of what it is now.
