Critics of this album do not get it. This album will win a Grammy. Johns did a great job on this record, and it is not generic bs. The album has unreal lyrics and melodies all blended together in a kickass ensemble. Rock and Blues blended with thundering drums and Sam's gravel tones. Satch stands out with some unbelievable riffs, and considering that this was his first venture into this type of thing after all these years of training Steve Vai and the rest of the world how to play guitar, maybe the jealous losers that are being critical should get a job...because critiquing rock music aint their gig. I would suggest seeing them live, to see the way they play and feed off each other. The fun they have on stage is contagious, and the shows rock.

Fair Warning,
I understand what you are saying about the difference between metal such as Cannibal Corpse and say VH. I was just saying in my first post that I never thought of them as "heavy" aka, "metal". You are absolutly correct when you say "hard rock". Taht was the term most of the bands that Russ mentioned used to describe themselves. The only problem I have is you use the term generic to describe Chickenfoot. they are far from it and they surely don't sound like anything that is being played by radio right now. Using that logic, I'd hear them on the radio. The music Chickenfoot is playing is much more complex and thought out than you are giving them credit for. It's definetly not the same 3 chord shit out there right now. Actually, I'm not sure (at least where I live) that VH will be played much if they release a new album. Radio has gone to hell, you'd have to get it on satelite to hear it. If you get a chance to see them live, or borrow the dvd, check it out. You may or may not change your mind. Too late for me to change my mind, as you said, I've drank way too much of the coolaid. See ya in Vegas for The Foot!

Mighk, compared to Cannibal Corpse, VH isn't metal, but it certainly is heavy- it's hard rock. And, you're right none of these current bands has a guitarist that can touch Satch. Can you name any of their guitarists- I can't. And, there in lies the point- Satch doesn't stand out in the Foot. The album just sounds like generic b.s. that is consistantly put out on the radio. I expected more because all the guys in the band are majorly talented. All that said, I wish them much success, and if they ever come my way, and I have the money, I'll definantly be there. I'm sure live it's better than the studio.

Wow, some of you still hating on Chickenfoot. When was the last time any of us has heard anything about DLR? I hate to say it, after 2010 there will be news that he is no longer in the band.

mighk -
respect your thoughts man. I like the foot a lot. I just don't think it's up there with VH1. Looking forward to the new release of either band.
