    Not yet… :( Unfortunately I can’t go on this year, maybe 2010???

  2. Enrique says:

Have any of you gone out there for his yearly bash? If so, can you tell us about it? Also, how does one get in to be part of the festivites at the Cabo Wabo?

  3. phil says:

i went to the 2007 bday bash. ted nugent played with sammy. it was awsome. cabo is beautiful in october!

  4. luciano says:

    I’ll go when Eddie goes….

  5. RA 8 1 2 says:

dont you have to sleep in line all night to get tickets?

  6. phil says:

no, i hired a local family to wait in line for me. a mom and 3 kids…i got 4 tix and hooked the familia up with cash and dinner. win win situation for everyone.

  7. RA 8 1 2 says:

Phil! LOLOLOL!! I fuckin love it. where did u find them? At Home Depot like here? lol

  8. Bocephus says:

Too bad Ed and Al pulled out of this truly magical bar..

Sam was true to the vision, and as a former patron…it was a great experience.

The thongs over the bar were nice too..

Van Halen was king when this went down..down in Cabo.

  9. SnoopDen says:

Sammy is living life to the fullest in a beautiful locale, Eddie is an uber-talented, grumpy old recovering addict. See you in Cabo!

  10. Keith says:

I’m there. Again !!! Sure hope the “FOOT” come to Cabo too.

  11. David O'Sullivan says:

    Hey Sammy,

If you ever get the chance to read these comments, any way at all possible that 2 huge fans who are travelling all the way from Sydney, Australia just to hopefully witness your legendary Birthday bash, could secure a couple of tickets in advance?

    Dave and Andrew.

  12. Eric Degenhardt says:

We went to Cabo last year for the 2008 B-Day bash and it was off the hook. We basically started partying on the plane when we left from Dallas ;-) We went to the Cantina four times and saw Sammy and the Wabos twice. Mikey and Emeril being there was simply radical. There’s so much to tell about the trip, I don’t have enough room to type. Bottom line is… you’ve got to go! No truer words have ever been spoken… “You go there once, you’ll be there twice”. We’re going back in 2010 and this time staying ten days instead of eight. Mas Tequila!

  13. Pete says:

IF YOU’VE NEVER DONE IT…DO IT!

Cabo is like Disney for adults…it IS the happiest place on earth, and ANYTHING can happen.

I wish Ed had a similar happy place to call his own like this. It’s truly an amazing experience. Even all the grumpy folks on here would have a great time here…you can’t help but be swept up in the vibe of the whole place.

Great tunes…great friends…great tequila…and lots of hot babes…yeah, I can see why someone wouldn’t want to do that!

If you can’t go this year get your swear jar set up and start saving for next year!

    Have fun today everyone!

    Pete

  14. Kimberly says:

This sounds like a ton of fun…wish I was 21:(
Have fun everyone who is going!! <3

  15. ROB5150 says:

I wonder why every time you talk of that ungrateful of Sammy Hagar, you should talk of Ed.
I don’t care about his bar and his “supergroup”, I’m a VAN HALEN fan even they don’t make no more new music.

  16. walteR says:

Hey RB5150,,, go whack off somewhere….. If it weren’t for Sammy, Van Halen would have imploded years ago…. WHat’s happening now with VH was just delayed 20 yrs by Sammy being there.. Get real,, Eddie and Dave are done!!!!!!!!

  17. Big AL says:

    WalteR,

Are you talking about the sold out concerts, the highest grossing tour ever, 1,000,000 fans going to the shows. You’re right they IMPLODED!!!! Sammy just DELAYED IT!!!!!

  18. ROB5150 says:

walteR, It’s clear that this is not the site for you, better go on “redrocker.com”, “madanthonycafè.com” or “chikenfoot.?” Obviously everyone has the right to think as he likes, but speak as you do mean that you are NOT A TRUE VAN HALEN FAN.
Again, I think that Sammy and also Mike are ungrateful towards Ed and Al.
Without Van Halen brothers, Sammy and Mike would not be what they are today.

  19. 50yrold fan says:

hey rob5150, i have news for you! whether you like it or not sammy did save vh. you give me one name who could have joined vh and kept the music going. remember dave left for a reason and i’m sure it is the same reason sam and mike are gone. also remember sammy took dave out of vegas and got him back in the spotlight and put some coin back in his pocket because i’ll bet dave was running low. i also think dave sucked it up and decided to put up with ed’s shit because of the money. notice dave has nothing to say, odd don’t you think. and just for the record iam a HUGE vh fan i’m just tired of all the shit talk and no action.

  20. RickieVanWhalen says:

    Kim

I too wish you were 21, tons of fun, naked and wouldn’t talk to my wife.

    :-)

  21. Ducky / Dirty Duck says:

    50yearold fan:

Dave made it VERY clear that he left because he didnt like the direction the music was going. They were focusing on writing ballads and that just wasnt dave’s thing. All of the hagar albums with VH prove that. Why do you think they had so many #1 records with him? Cause it was more “radio friendly” top 10 crap. I mean how many VH songs did we need that had the word love in it? Be it the title or otherwise?
I never once said that sammy was the cause of everything that SUCKED about VH after dave left. But he admitted he wanted to make this a new band so there would be no comparisons. And he did! I’ll give him that. But you’re not gonna change my views on what i thought rocked harder and louder. If sappy unrealistic lyrics (How do i know when its love? I CANT TELL YOU but it lasts forever” WHAT?!)are your thing. God bless. But personally I would have wanted the band to END after dave left. I’m serious! The BEST groups dont usually last more than 6 years anyway….

  22. walteR says:

50yr old fan,, thank you for sharing your wisdom.. The VH heydays are GONE!!!! They were an awesome band with both Sammy & Dave at the helm… But it’s been too long since we’ve seen that fire and passion from Eddie & Alex…

  23. john says:

Sam was making money and really didn`t need Van Halen when they asked him to join…..the red rocker was selling albums and tickets

  24. john says:

bet the “Foot” play a few days there

  25. 50yrold fan says:

duck/dirty duck, panama and unchained are my thing, my point is you guys rip on sam when ed wrote the music. no matter who sings the music was the same. hard to imagine heavy lyrics to the songs you are talking about. keep in mind this site has a lot of sam fans otherwise it would be dead. nobody knows more than i do what vh meant to us fans and music all the way around, i mean everybody likes at least 1 vh song. again ed wrote the music not sam. and for the record i think dreams is one of the best songs ever.

  26. Ducky / Dirty Duck says:

…but JOHN lets be a little realistic here.
Sammy may have been selling albums and concerts but they were
never really made much of an impact. Can you honestly say that sammy without VH would STILL be selling out shows with his “two” big hits: Only one way to rock & Cant drive 55?
    I dont think so….

  27. phil says:

it’s friday and i need a beer! or multiple beers!

  28. ROB5150 says:

50yrold fan says:”you give me one name who could have joined vh and kept the music going”.
I know that Eddie contacted Eric Martin (later with Mr. Big) to replace Dave. It would be interesting, he is an amazing vocalist, think about Van Halen with Martin and Sheehan….

  29. ace5150 says:

    Eric Martin? Gimme a break!

I am also tired of hearing how great Billy Sheehan would have been replacing Mikey. If he is so great than why hasn’t he done anything else in 20+ years?

    And speaking of sappy ballads…

Mr Big had one hit and it was one of the pussiest ballads ever.

Sammy gave Ed the range to do hard rocking tunes and ballads. Something Dave could have never done.

  30. DianeG says:

Sammy can still sing & play well enough to do any of his old songs + VH + new songs….even at 60+ he still rocks…don’t believe me…get down to the Cabo Wabo for the BD bash and you’ll see! BTW you only need to be 18 to get in…mas Tequila!

  31. Ducky / Dirty Duck says:

    50year old fan:

I know you’ve been around the block and probley saw some of the BEST live shows back in the day. I’ll give you that.
But to say “Dreams” is the BEST song ever!?
    I dont know man….

  32. 50yr old fan says:

ducky/dirty duck, please read what i said one more time. i said one of the best songs ever. THE best song ever is UNCHAINED.

  33. Deb says:

Does anyone have an idea when Sammy will play at cabo wabo in 2010???? I have to see him there again!

  34. keith says:

Sure wish Sammy would figure out a way to get tickets to fans who baook a trip and travel down there easier. Same to spend all that money andy waste a day standing in line on stressing about getting 1 ticket for 1 show.

  35. samfan says:

mr hagar was very succesfull b4 vh ASKED him to join their band . he has been succesfull ever since !! he is not an ego maniac like ed and dave ..thats why he has so many loyal fans world wide .. anyone remember the gary days of vh ?? me either ..when sam was with vh ,they were most popular band in the world period ..long live sammy !!

  36. Dave says:

    Enrique,
I went in 2005. The night before the show you want to go to , you hang out in a long line up the street and around the corner from Cabo Wabo.(Get in line about 6:00pm) Bring a cheap lawn chair and a cooler (not too big) of your favorite beverage to pass the time. They open up about 8:30am the next morning and pass out wrist bands which gets you and a guest into the show that evening. (I guess from some of the other posts that sometimes they might actually give out tickets but wristbands was they way they did it in 2005.)He plays tunes from his days with Montrose, solo stuff, Van Halen, Waboritas and now, I suspect, Chickenfoot. Usually has a few special guests as well. Have fun!! Its a blast!!!

  37. Mike says:

Any idea of the 2010 dates? Does the week of concerts culminate on his birthday every year? His birthday will fall on Wednesday in 2010 so I don’t know if I should book the weekend before or after to see a few shows!
