Rock On Chickenfoot Rock On !!!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
congrats again to chickenfoot,i’m happy for you.
June 17th, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Whether you like them or not, Chickenfoot isn’t going away anytime soon.
It just makes me chuckle knowing that the success of this album is making the haters out there spin out of their EVH shoes.
June 17th, 2009 at 6:20 pm
Ace5150, stop trying to create drama. Just because I’m not a fan of the album doesn’t mean I want it to do poorly. I hope they sell a million records. Good for them. It’s not a contest. If you like it, that’s awesome.
June 17th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
I’m still trying to digest all these tunes. Learning To Fall and Turnin’ Left seem to be my favorite picks. Turnin’ Left mostly because it sounds suspiciously Van Halen-ish and just plain jams. Down The Drain and Runnin’ Out are the only other two that I seem to keep replaying.
I hope they spend more time on the songwriting next time. It’s a good album but could easily be better considered all parties involved.
June 17th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
This album really grows on you if you keep listening to it. Turnin’ Left has got to be their next single - IT ROCKS.
Listen to the first part of Runnin’ Out, it sounds like Best of Both Worlds from 5150.
I hope this album gets these guys back in the limelight!
June 17th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
and the best part is they are on tour playing new songs and will release another album.
the are a real band.
i say we scrap the van halen newsdesk and change it to chickenfoot until edweird actually does something besides
talk shit
talk smack
lie
and release avg to subpar music.
(the last decade- the wasted years)
once again this is a REAL band they made an album and toured and ONLY played the news songs.
not van halen or van hagar, not sammy solo, not montrose (okay they played one) not satch solo and not chilis
NOT BAD!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:46 pm
congrats to the FOOT!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:57 pm

June 17th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Still at #4! Look who is ahead of them? Not too bad if you ask me!
June 17th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Rock On Foot!!!! Ace 5150 You nailed it right there!!! Skutch has no clue what the fuck he’s talking about since he’s the one with the drama.

I am tired of all the narrow-minded VH fans who know nothing abuot Sammy Hagar, saying he was nothing without VH.
Besides his massively influential Montrose days (yes, even VH admitted it was influential and even took “ideas” from the record), Sammy’s resume includes:
Hagar’s breakthrough album arrived in 1981, “Standing Hampton” climbed the U.S. Pop chart reaching the #28 position and generated a string of hits including: “I’ll Fall In Love Again” which peaked at #2 on The Mainstream Rock chart, “There’s Only One Way To Rock” reached #31, chart.
Title-song to the soundtrack of the film “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”, the track reached the #21 slot on The Mainstream Rock chart.
“Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy”, peaked at #13 in U.S. Pop chart, soared to the #3 spot on The Rock Tracks chart Mainstream Rock hit singles: the #6 “Remember The Heroes” and the top 30 “I Don’t Need Love” as well as “Never Give Up” which entered the top 50 of the Official Pop Singles chart.
“I Can’t Drive 55″ which climbed into the top 30 of The Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #9 on The Mainstream Rock “Two Sides Of Love”, also made top 40 on the same charts.
Active Rock #1 single “Give To Live”, which also peaked at #23 on The Billboard Hot 100; The Mainstream Rock Tracks chart with “Winner Takes It All”, used for the soundtrack to the Sylvester Stallone movie “Over The Top”.
“Marching To Mars” 11-song set peaked at #18 on The Billboard 200 Albums chart, it yielded the Active Rock chart-topping “Little White Lie”, plus the title-track, which rose to #3 and “Both Sides Now” peaked at #11 on The Mainstream Rock list.
the smash single “Mas Tequila”, which peaked at #2 on The Mainstream Rock chart; the second single, “Shag”, reached #22 on the same chart.
Active Rock top 10 hit “Serious Ju Ju” and “Let Sally Drive” which reached #16 on The Mainstream Rock list.
Let that go against VH with Roth. One #1 song - “Jump” and most of the rest of the charts are cover tunes. Hagar era - one cover tune and more hits.
Come on!

AMEN Dude! Hagar was and will always be dissed by original VH fans because he was not the first singer. Funny thing is that Warner Brothers didnt like dave from the start and wanted Van Halen to bring Sammy in the band back in the late 70’s. Van Halen was Awesome with Dave and Awesome with Sammy. They are both great in their own ways. However if you really think about it, Sammy was the best thing to happen to Van Halen. They would never have been as successful as they were if Dave had stayed in the group in 1985. Times and music had changed and catered more toward Hagar type of writing. All you haters diss Sammy all you want, but we all know that when Hagar koined the band you still continued to buy their records and go to their shows. Just like we all did (true fans) when Gary entered. We still go to see Eddie. Just like this last reunion tour with Wolf. So many people I knwo protested not having Mike in the band. However, they still went to the show. As much as I have lost so much respect for EVH, I will still continue to buy the records and go to the shows because of the talent and influence given to me over the years growing up. I will also continue to follow Sammy and Mike in Chickenfoot or any other projects they continue to do….You all need to just be VAN HALEN fans and not bitch and complain abotu who is singing or not or who has had more success, etc. We all like and love VAN HALEN as a whole whatever that whole consists of. Sorry Gary…dont really follow what you are doing, but im sure you understand.

I have downloaded the Album to my Iphone and cannot seem to stop listening to it. Of the 11 tracks and bonus track I cannot say there is a track that I skip over except maybe (learning to fall)sometimes. I’m really impressed with the way chad and MA play together and was not sure how MA bass playing would be without edwards guidance. I really hope this does not end here cause I can see this really growing and only getting better.
June 18th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
Rocko, I agreed with Ace5150. How is that dramatic? I agree with you too. I want the foot to rock as they please. It’s cool with me. Joe’s a killer player and I hope they’re all having a blast with this.
June 18th, 2009 at 1:37 pm
Congrats to Chickenfoot. I like about half the songs, which isn’t too bad for most CD’s I’ve bought. It’s interesting to see how many people like “Turnin’ Left”, since I think it’s one of their weaker songs, but then does it really matter?
Sammy? Dave? who cares? Both had their moment. I prefer Dave with VH, but have fond memories of those first couple of Van Hagar albums, after that….eh.
June 18th, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Im digging Get It Up and Turnin Left!!!! Future in the PAst will rock live too!!
June 18th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
IMHO Future in the Past is the not only the best cut on the album but the best song I’ve heard in the last 10 years
June 18th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
Well put lucky.
June 18th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Steve “…was not sure how MA bass playing would be without edwards guidance.”
That’s ridiculous. As much as Eddie would like you to believe Mike was a bumbling idiot who had to be told what to play it’s NOT TRUE. Mike is a top notch bass player. He was before he ever hoooked up with Ed and Al, That’s why they asked him to be in the band for christsakes. I don’t care who you’re playing with, you won’t have a 30+ year career if you can’t cut it.
June 18th, 2009 at 5:16 pm
Steve
How did you get the bonus track with your download?
All I got was the original 11 songs.
June 18th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Hey I just got three Dave solo albums for Fathers Day! A little Ain’t Enough,Filthy Little Mouth & DLR Band.I owned them back in the day. Every one better than the new Chickenfoot CD! Now I’m gonna sit back ,drink a beer and read Crazy From the Heat one more time ! Dave & Eddie Are Rock Gods!!!
June 18th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Stop all the bitchin’ back and forth. We all want new Van Halen music. Rock rules, we all agree to that. The crap on the radio for the past twenty years sucks. I think everyone can agree with that. Whether you like Dave, Sammy (or even Gary), quit arguing. You are never gonna convince the other side to see your point of view, so get over it. If you’re older than 40 then you probably remember Sammy when he was just Sammy, or even in Montrose. He did his thing, he held his own, and now he’s moved on. Dave is back with the new incarnation of Van Halen so let’s just wait and see what happens. Grab a six pack, sit back, and see what gives. These guys are now pushing 60, so don’t expect too much. They can’t make it through the night without having to get up and take a piss.
June 18th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
All the best to Mike, Sam, Joe, & Chad. Keep kickin’ ass, fellas.
June 22nd, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Great Album, it’s like 5150 on steroids I love it I can’t stop listening to it. I can’t wait for Van Halens new album, maybe they can tour together next year with Chickenfoot as the opening act.
July 28th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
Sammy Hagar sucked, he was never a huge star before he joined Van Halen, not one of the Hagar albums outsold 1984, as a matter of fact all Van Halen albums after 1984 sold less
Source RIAA http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinum.php
Its also false that Hagar had bigger hits when he was in Van Halen.
Hagar was always a Joke of Rockstar and Road DLR coattails into the RRHOF.
Hagar fans are the biggest douchebags in history.
Roth era Van Halen has outsold fagar era 2-1.
Real Van Halen 1978-1984 the only years that matter.
