  • Deb

i am all over the heather gray one!!

  • VH2008

It really is a cool and clever logo. I’m getting the red one and the long sleeve.

  • bosephus

    How about some baseball caps?

  • The Tin Man

Agreed – it’s a cool brand that compliments their attitude and sound.

  • Sherman T. Dog

Why would I need to view a four Chickenfoot shirts at the Van Halen Store when I just got done viewing them here? Way to keep pushing the merch, VHND. Again, this is not news, just marketing.

    Woof!

  • shayne

got my highschool rocken to the foot

  • Vanicionado

    Hey Sherman…

Just remember what you paid to come and make your comments here at the VHND.

They gotta fund this machine somehow.

  • VH2008

Don’t listen to sherman, VHND. Thanks for telling us about these shirts, and thanks to Vanhalenstore.com for offering them.

Hey sherman, ever notice that VHND is the only popular website that you ever visit that is NOT flooded with all kinds of advertising? They do have some VH ads, but of course they need to, otherwise the site wouldn’t exist. It costs lots of dough to run a site like this.

  • VanFoot

These are awesome. I ordered all 3 mens tees.

The chickenfoot cd is the best rock cd I’ve bought in many years! Long live the Foot!

  • SCAR

    How some Foot skull caps?

  • ROB5150

vhnd does a great job, allowing us fans to exchange views, and not just, then the shirts for me is not a problem

  • Shawn

You can get a poster, a hat and a key chain at chickenfoot.us.

  • William

How about some Chickenfoot guitar picks with the Band’s logo?

  • Kevin

Ok, having chickenfoot on VHND is one thing, but even now in the VHStore? That is taking it one step too far!! Who gives a sh!t who the members of Chickenfoot used to be in?? It’s NOT VAN HALEN! The bands are not related, especially in musical style. The Chickenfoot CD was good, but NOT VAN HALEN. So unless we want to rename the sites VHCFND.com and vanhalenchickenfootstore.com, STOP POSTING ALL THIS CHICKENFOOT!

  • http://none J5149.5

thanks vhnd for the t-shirt info.i know that you are commited to past van halen affiliates and members as you have stated,so i fully expect a gary cherone update as he has done a few things in recent years, like reuniting with extreme with kick ass guitarist nuno bettencourt .i know that you would never run an article for the drama factor and it’s much appreciated.

  • http://www.myspace.com/aarxn aarxn

yeah i kinda wish we would get some Gary news every now and then, he has kept pretty busy in the past ten years. Tribe of Judah was pretty decent and he got back with Extreme. ive spoken with him via email a few times and he has NEVER EVER EVER said anything bad about the VH years, or Eddie,Alex, or Mike, only love. which cant be said for anyone else who has been affiliated with them.

make fun of him all you want, but the guy is a class act. personaly, i found VH3 much better than Balance, and Chickenfoot’s album. (holds up flame shield)

  • Rich

No flames from me, its an acquired taste. I think you have to really like Extreme/Gary to get into VH3.

I think some Extreme/Gary news would also be cool, not loads but some things. I saw him with Extreme last November and they were amazing, its just like it was 1991 again. Also, their new album some of their best material since Pornograffiti.

I don’t see why Chickenfoot Merchandise at the VHStore is really such a problem. If they sell Cabo Wabo stuff, Micheal Anthony’s hot sauce, Eddie Van Halen everything, and David Lee Roth solo albums/merchandise (posters etc), then why is Chickenfoot t-shirts such a big deal?

Seriously, the VHStore sells some pretty stupid/weird stuff.

    - A striped disposable camera
    - Backstage passes from earlier eras
    - 5150 Sweatbands…
    - Temporary VH tattoos
    - Badges (buttons) that are $10 each?!
    - A huge amount of Van Halen tribute CDs
    - Wolfgang Guitar Picks ($15!)
    - A Cabo Wabo Lamp
    - Anything with Eddie’s name on it pretty much has it on it.

So why are 4 t-shirts so disruptive to what is already, in some respects, a totally weird and fan/collector crazy site?

  • TheRealKeith

Awesome…much better that what VH offered at their last 2 tours, but then so is everthing ! VH take note, you’re slacking in all areas: New music, web site, tours, et all.

  • SCAR

All the haters just come to this site to be drama queens!!!!

  • VanFoot

    Kevin,

Van Halen Store has never sold JUST VH stuff. The have been selling Cabo Wabo shirts ever since they started in 1994, when they started up “The Inside” VH magazine. They sell:

    1) VH merch
    2) EVH guitar stuff
    3) Cabo Wabo stuff
    4) Mad Anthony sauces & basses
    5) Books by Zlozower, DLR, Valerie, etc.

Just as VHND.com covers everything related to entire VH family/alumni, VanHalenstore.com sells all that stuff too.

  • Aftershock

I thought Chickenfoot was all about the music? You mean they’re pimping merchandise as well? I never would have imagined such a thing!

Can “The 12 Days of Designing Chickenfoot T-Shirt” videos be far behind?

  • Rich

Exactly. Its called “Van Halen Store” and “Van Halen News Desk” because, mainly, they began as primary sources for the band. But, Van Halen fans also like David Lee Roth solo material. They also like Sammy Hagar solo material. They also like Extreme’s work. They also enjoy collecting Van Halen stuff. Some people will buy anything with Frankenstrat stripes on. Over time, both of these sites have expanded their coverage because of us, the fans. There is now one site that conviniently sells all of their stuff together, rather than having to trapse all over the internet looking for “Eat ‘Em and Smile” and a 5150 shirt – I can get them at the same place. It just makes sense.

  • Kayser Sozay

LOL those of you bitching about chickenfoot merch for sale at the VH store. That’s a whole new level of insecurity to be threatened by a T-shirt. I can see you walking into a “Liquor Store” and bitching they sell beer and wine. “you sell too much unrelated stuff”. How bout you just buy the stuff you want and let the rest of us appreciate having choices.

  • Dan

agreed with Kayser Sozay, couldn’t have said it better.

  • Vanicionado

Do you think it burns the Sammy haters that “The Inside” magazine is named after a song on 5150.

SCAR… Drama QUEENS… Nail on the head, buddy! Nail on the Head!

    Props to Kayser too!

I love all the DEMANDS to STOP POSTING CHICKENFOOT stuff rants.

Yes sir, Kevin sir! Right away Kevin sir!

    By your command, Kevin!

    Sheesh!

  • http://www.myspace.com/aarxn aarxn

i dont care about the Chickenfeet swag, im cool with The Store selling non-VH stuff, like Rich says, people enjoy collecting and it just so happens that this CF is part of the extended VH family. However, my point was the fact that vhnd.com and the officiall store does NOT cover Gary things.

while he may not have been the most popular singer, or VH3 the popular album, but it IS part of the history and there are a few of us who would enjoy catching up on his news. yeah we could just go to his page or whatever, but with all this CF coverage, why not cover Gary and/or Extreme?

  • doug

I think the news desk should be reserved for “non-marketing” news-worthy articles about all era halen members. You buy a newspaper to read the news, a catalog to shop!

  • The Doctor

Sheesh, I’d have thought by now that it’s clear that if this site was exclusively VH and nothing but VH, it’d be pretty bloody quiet around here.

It’s nice to see a couple of VH people ACTUALLY MAKING MUSIC, and have related merchandise to support it.

Heck, I laughed out loud reading the latest VH news from Ed. Nothing soon because the new bass player has to finish High School and Ed himself is too busy preparing his wedding………Yeah right, rock on VH!

VH couldn’t even be bothered to release a live DVD of the recent tour. That’s gone south too because Ed thinks “everyone has seen it”

Huh? By that logic you’d never release any live DVD’s because people have “already seen it”

or, Ed then you should’ve toured with a set of brand new songs because the ones you played, we have “already seen them”

As for Gary, and I didn’t mind some Extreme back in the days of rock bands wearing bike pants, but truth is it probably isn’t worth the time and effort to post the links and articles here…..

  • Jeff

Aftershock, you are a complete MORON!!
Chickenfoot is a band who has a new album and is currently “TOURING’!!! Of course they are going to have some merchandise to sell……..just like every band in the world…….except VH, who sell everything under the sun, even if they aren’t doing anything.

  • Jeff

Doug, what do you think funds VHND??……..it sure aint your “hard earned money, put towards a subscription”like a newspaper.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the merch sales on here, we wouldn’t have the news desk to bitch on.

  • The Doctor

plus, it’s refreshing to see some Hagar related clothing that doesn’t have a Tequila bottle on it!

  • Kevin

My apologies everyone. However I do feel that Chickenfoot is dominating the site recently, and while I have nothing against them at all (I heard the record and it’s good), I feel that the site should be primarily Van Halen at all times. I don’t mind an occasional ‘foot update, I just felt that chickenfoot is like 90% of all updates lately.

  • ace5150

You people act like this is YOUR site!!

You come here for free and have a place to post your opinions but act like your on the f*cking board of directors.

I used to come to this site sporadically and hope to see some VH news. I would see old news or no news at all and go about my business.

Now I come here every day and at least see news. News that involves VH and past members of VH.

I think this site is doing an excellent job and we should be thankful that it is here for us. Running a site like this is hard work and it’s not free. They can sell whatever the hell they want as far as I am concerned.

If some you guys don’t like what the hell they sell on here or what they deem as newsworthy than by all means go start your own site or go to the official VH site.

  • Adam

Jeff, Aftershock was trying to be funny by poking fun that… what-do-ya-know… Chickenfoot sells merchandise too! It’s because VH undeservedly gets crap from some people on the internet for selling merchandise (people who have nothing better to do than complain about something that is actually good).

Obviously, when there is high demand for a product that ANY band/company/entity can make, they put it out! And even if VH was retired, expect them to continue to put out merchandise indefinitely, just like all other huge bands. They would be stupid not to, and they would be the only band that didn’t.

You said Chickenfoot should be able to put out merch because they are touring. You’re right about that, but Van Halen’s huge tour just ended a year ago, and Eddie just said that they will tour again. That’s why Aftershock was indirectly poking fun at all the people who complain when they see new VH products for sale.

  • Vanicionado

Hear ya Kev, but like everyone has said before… when there’s Van Halen news, they post it. If there’s no VH news, then (cue Crickets chirping) nothing.

  • John

As a longtime Van Halen fan I can say without a doubt that the band hurt itself by not adding “Without You” and “Fire In The Hole” onto the greatest hits package. I know no one liked VH3, but I did, I also dig Extreme, and I agree that “Saudades de Rock” is some of the bands best work since “Pornograffitti” and “3 Sides”. The thing with that album that boggles my mind is how quickly it was made, I would imagine the next Extreme album (follow up to Saudades de Rock), without overhyping it, is going to be downright amazing.

So I think Van Halen is hurting themselves by not acknowledging that effort, but as a fan I know how Ed works, he is bitter at Gary Cherone for leaving the band the way he did.

I also dig Chickenfoot, now we just need a new Van Halen album with Diamond Dave. and that will make 3 albums with Van Halen singers that have out of this world guitarists (Nuno, Satriani, Van Halen).

  • Adam,

Someone here asked why VHND doesn’t cover Gary Cherone & VH3 & Extreme. They do! Have you seen the “Gary Cherone / VH III” link in the “Categories” section located at the top right corner of every page of the VHND? There are a few stories there, but those are only since they revamped the VHND a year ago.

Back when Gary was in the band, the VHND had countless stories on the current form of VH, (of course, you can read all those by going to the blue link in the top right corner of every page) and VHStore.com sold tons of VH3 merchandise, but those items are all sold out now.

  • http://vhnd.com 50yrold fan

Kevin, just curious what would be this weeks headline if this were strictly a vh site?

  • Kimberly

I guess it would be the news we got with the interview two seconds before the CF merchandise news came out. Probably something like that. I am agreeing with the others– This is a VH site…Props to CF for being decent, but seriously..? I come here for VH and VH alone.

  • Aftershock

    To Jeff:

    What Adam said.

  • Vanicionado

And yet Kimberly, you’re posting on a Chickenfoot article.

    Confusing!!

  • Rich

I don’t think Ed was bitter about Gary, I thought that Gary left due to the record company really wanting a single and Gary not wanting to be in a band that has to battle bad press AND the pressure of a record company on your back. It somewhat stifles the creativity.

Definately think Gary should’ve stayed on for a second album, “Love Again” could’ve been bigger and better than VH3 and possibly shown fans that Gary totally had the chops for the band (which he did – I have a bootlegged live album of the III Tour in Sydney, its great stuff).

Totally agree with John, I don’t see why people complain because Extreme, Van Halen and Chickenfoot show no signs of slowing down and they’re all available to see live! I caught Extreme in November and i’m seeing Chickenfoot next week in London, now I just need to see the man himself, Ed, and I’ll have seen ‘em all.

John – at least “Without You” was put on Video Hits, even if it is the radio version. I think the band seems to want to try to ignore that VH3 ever existed. Apart from Mike, who mentioned Gary at the RARHOF thank-yous.
