i think *the foot* as Sammy calls it, would be much better without Sammy. its like we cant see Mike do anything unless Sammy is around, come to think of it, has Mike ever done anything outside of VH and Hagar?

Bad publicity is all publicity none the less...

Anyone remember the little movie that grossed a little money entitled (and I'm not getting on a religious kick and I actually didn't care for the movie - but the point is the same) "The Passion of the Christ"?

The Jewish community came out saying that the movie was antisemetic - and all that did was make more people want to see the movie - which contributed to the success of the project.

If the Jewish Community had just kept their mouths shut, the movie probably would have come through, making a little splash in the religious community, and then it would have been gone.

This entire conversation is kind-of like that movie because you so many VH fans "worship" the band so faithfully and they blindly follow the masses. Go ahead and worship a band that doesn't exist anymore, and a guitarist who doesn't produce anymore - all of that makes perfect sense. No one here will deny that EVH is arguably the best guitarist ever, and that VH was one of the best bands ever, but to "worship" a band and a musician (?) is a bit childish.

Perhaps EVH "inspired" you to learn guitar, or AVH "inspired" you to learn the drums - this is all good. Learning music, at any age, is a good thing. In that respect, perhaps EVH and the VH Camp actually did contribute something worthwhile to society other than just a few really good albums of music, but this incessant debating about something that can't be proved, can't be won, and won't ever be determined, is just rediculous.

While I did (and I'll admit it here) "worship" VH back in their heyday, I did find time to actually grow up, and then learn that idolizing a band just isn't worth the effort - and now that I'm older, the process was actually well worth it.

Bash Sammy and Mike and Chickenfoot all you want (those of you) - it'll just further validate that Sammy is still in the scene, and VH (which includes EVH) is not.

I agree as well Dave!

I've been sick and tired of the same comments since this band was first reported to be a band.

All Sammy has done for music history is deliver music. This guy has been around since 1973 and still going strong. I for one love what I'm hearing and knew about it before the public. I've heard the whole album, it's real good and it's going to sell well.

The problem here is that the so called fans of Van Halen bash Sammy because he didn't fail in Van Halen. Every song on every album was written by Sammy and Eddie as well as the music. If Eddie had a problem with it, why put it out?

The Roth heads wanted Sammy to fail because they felt Sammy stole Roth's job. Well, Roth should've stayed and made music and not try to be a movie star or a solo artist.

Eddie was tired of Roth and his act and his lack of writing good songs. Debate it all day long, but Dave is not a musician and Sammy is. If Dave was a musician, he would've stayed and went with the keyboards that Eddie wanted to play on some albums. Roth didn't mind that his favorite song Jump is all keyboards and went to #1.

To me, Chickenfoot is a dirty version of late 80's rock but more polished in the sense of the musicians in the band. Joe's guitar sounds gritty and nothing like how he usually sounds. Chad is solid and sounds nothing like the Peppers, and Mike is always solid and just does what he does best. Sammy at 62 sings better than he did 25 years ago.

The reason why everybody bashes this new music is because it reminds them of Van Halen and makes them sad that their band is in limbo as usual. It's not Sammy or Chickenfoots fault that Van Halen doesn't want to be a band anymore and make music.

It's Van Halen's fault and the sooner the fans realize that this band is to me done, the sooner these debates will end. I like all the clips and the insight. I like the music because it gives off a good vibe to just relax, have a cold one, shake your ass, and get some pussy!

The same way Van Halen made you feel from 1978-1996. If Van Halen went back and just listened to the fans and did what got them famous, they would be the center of attention again.

But the problem here is that EVERYBODY listens to all these tracks, then bashes them, and then complains it's on the VHND all the time. Don't read it, don't listen to it, and certainly don't comment on any of it. All your doing bashers is making all of us who dig Chickenfoot, knowing you like it too.

It's okay to like Sammy and Chickenfoot. You liked Sammy in Van Halen and we all know it.
