Notice the word “FUN” being used over and over again – that’s what good rock music should be and Chickenfoot delivers it right to your speakers!!! So for all you haters out there before you start the drama go out and have ya some “FUN” – you might just like it!!!!!

  • Kayser Sozay

This is pretty cool. I appreciate hearing the band members give their take I each song. Better than liner notes.

  • K. Reyoch

The cocktail that is these four seems to be generating serious personality fun and quality musical mayhem. Can’t wait for the CD. Can’t wait for the show.

  • Mark

This is lame… Do I feel compelled to listen to these goofballs? No way…

  • Top Jimmy

Dave isn’t that great without EVH.
Sam isn’t that great without EVH.

    BUT…

Sam is better with Joe Satriani than Dave was with Steve Vai.

10 more days of this shit. Chickenfoot just played in Toronto, average review. People got bored of the silly shit on stage. Some of the songs got carried away…….nice way of saying nice try boys but NOT!

  • I’ll pay you for it wtf

There’s always some dickhead that has to make a negative comment in every posting. Every frickin time. It’s like a race. I wonder who will sign up to be dickhead when the 3rd song is added? Who will it be? I can’t stand the suspense! Dickhead.

Thanks Eddie for sobering up and kicking those dorks out of Van Halen!!!

“Chickenfoot takes the super out of supergroup
    By Steve Newton

Don’t get me wrong: unlike most music critics, I’ve got nothing against Sammy Hagar. He used to seriously rock my teenaged world with Montrose in the ’70s, then I thoroughly enjoyed his early solo albums (before he decided he couldn’t drive 55), and I even liked a couple of tracks from his mid-’80s stint with Van Halen (“Finish What Ya Started”, “Dreams”.). I always thought he had a great rock ‘n’ roll voice.

But enough is enough. Judging by last night’s concert at the Commodore with his new “supergroup”, Chickenfoot, it’s definitely time for Hagar to grab himself a bottle of that premium tequila he so proudly promotes and head off into the Cabo sunset.

The quartet—which includes guitar hero Joe Satriani, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith—showcased all the songs from its upcoming self-titled CD, and there didn’t seem to be a strong one in the bunch. They sounded forced, formulaic, and extremely safe; most of them came off as substandard rejects from Van Halen’s OU812 sessions. Hagar tried hard to make it seem like he was having the time of his life trotting out these tedious odes to the endless party, but come on, pal. you’re 61. Isn’t it time you branched out from songs about your “Sexy Little Thing”? Your new tunes make Nickelback seem edgy.

And Satriani is just wasted in this group. The guy’s a real artist on guitar, as he’s proven via a dozen instrumental albums, so to see him up there grinding through vapid, contrived arrangements is just sad. I predict he’s going to get fed up with this misstep of a “supergroup” very soon and go back to being an adventurous axeman of the highest order, the type who’d much rather trade licks with a virtuosic bassist like Stu Hamm than the lowly Michael Anthony.

I got much more of a buzz from the night’s opening act, Vancouver’s Rich Hope and His Evil Doers. Hope only has one evil doer, actually, ace drummer Adrian “Mad” Mack, but between the two of them they churn out the type of raw, honest, gutbucket rock ‘n’ roll that Sammy Hagar now seems truly incapable of.”

that song sounds like a lost track from 5150

  • kerndawg

I say you guys need to start pushing rock n roll b/c if you dont, pretty soon it will be nothing but hip hop and rap. Get the young ones to listen to this and the old stuff. The young kids dont know VH but they know lil wayne pot head!

  • phil

scar, you should know better by now. the haters have all said there is no fun allowed, remember? we can’t have fun music and fun discussions. only hate and bitter comments are allowed….

  • SCAR

Rick you forgot to have ya some fun eh? Well roll yourself a fatty ok dickhead!!! As for Steve Newton, that fucking idiot has a nasty speech impediment…his foot!!!!

  • SCAR

Phil you are 100% right!!! I hope they don’t call the fun police on us!!!!

  • paulie

i don’t know about everybody else, but i’ve personally seen enough Chickenfoot on this site…

  • Dan

Look at the bright side, the haters are out numbered by those that are getting excited about Chickenfoot. So, let them have their little rant and pout. I say the numbers prove there are more people having fun with this than the wet blankets trying to rain on the CF parade.

  • Johnny

Any fool can condemn, criticize, and ridicule and most fools do!!!

  • Matt from Australia

I’m boycotting the VHND for the next 12 days!!

  • Remember the Prom Queen

Good, funky, tight rock ‘n’ roll! If I ever get too old to enjoy this kind of music, well… just put me out of my misery!

This band is superb, all of them are great musicians.I like Chickenfoot and I’m glad I’ve found this amazing site of yours.Great info. :)

  • Top Jimmy

    stew:

don’t get me wrong, i love dave but “eat ‘em and smile” & “skyscraper” are 80′s cheese. they don’t stand up at all today the way the VH albums did. which is partly because steve vai isn’t a rocker like EVH. he’s a widdly-widdly guitar freak genius but at his heart is not rock and roll like eddie. he didn’t have the songwriting/riff writing chops that EVH had which in turn doesn’t make dave shine as much as he did when he was in van halen.
