Jeremy,

Wow you're really down playing classic Van Halen and you sound like a DLR hater? I like both eras of Van Halen but personally I prefer the Roth era over Sammy.

Here are some album figures:
Van Halen...10? million
Van Halen II...5 million
Women and Children First...3 million
Fair Warning... 2 million
Diver Down...4 million
1984...10 million
5150...6 million
OU812...4 million
For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge...3 million
Right Here, Right Now ....2 million
Balance...3 million

VAN HALEN...34 million
Van Hagar...18 million

Hell even David Lee Roth's solo career is more successful than Hagar's!

Solo Platinum records:
David Lee Roth: 3
Sammy Hagar: 2

Sammy Hagar NEVER had an album go Platinum (not solo or in Montrose) before or after he was in Van Halen. Dave had 3 solo Platinum albums and 1 gold after he left Van Halen.

When Sammy joined VH, he had no platinum records, Dave had 6 multi-platinum with VH at the time. Without VH, the Cabo Wabo clown never has a Platinum record and dies out in the 80's like Rick Springfield. Don't be so quick to down play the Roth era man! Long live the mighty Van Halen!!

LINE6GUY,

THRILLER WAS RELEASED IN 1982, AND 1984 WAS RELEASED IN 1983. YES I KNOW IT WAS THE FIRST OF THE YEAR, BUT IF IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM, IT WOULD'VE WENT #1.

PYROMANIA WAS A GREAT ALBUM TOO!

MY POINT IS THAT DAVE WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH TO MAKE A #1 ALBUM.

JUMP WAS JUST THE SONG AT THE RIGHT TIME AND THAT WAS HOW ALL MUSIC WAS IN 1983.

EXCEPT FOR METALLICA'S KILL EM' ALL!

I love Vanhalen........I really like what I have heard from Chickenfoot so far........I now can have the best af "all worlds", because, as a lover of music, I don't have to foresake good listening, just because it wasn't created by someone who knocked me off my chair 31 years ago.
Comon' guys, I would love to hear new VanHalen, but it aint gonna happen any time soon. I am thrilled to pieces that I will have "something" close, to tide me over until the day I hopefully have the new VH album in my hands!! It sure beats the hell out of having to listen to any of the other crap that is out there presently!!!

Jeremy,

I for one am happy for Mikey that he's back in a band, jamming with his buddy Hagar and making music again. It was totally wrong the way Ed just dumped him from Van Halen and didn't even let him be a part of the 07/08 Tour with Roth!!

BTW, that #1 VH single(Jump) would of went along with a #1 VH album(1984) but there just happen to be this little album out called Thriller at that time!

"Jeremy spoke in...claaaaass today."
