Here’s a bunch of news from Chickenfoot:
HELLO PEOPLE OF THE FOOT!
We have a few good pieces of news to report hot off the presses! As you know, we are starting to get close to the album release in June, and the first European festival dates. But, here are a few new things that you need to know! We will continue to bring you the latest news direct to your email — thanks for being part of the growing community we are building!

We’ve molted a bit at CHICKENFOOT.US and moved away from the teaser stage into something that makes it easier to keep track of what is going on as we rev the engine towards release date and the first shows. The widget is still front-and-center, and take note of the big link to the OFFICIAL FAN CLUB, which we’ll tell you more about in a moment.
Starting next week, we will open up the site for FREE accounts for fans near and far to step up their participation in the community. Once the shows start we’ll look to you to share your reviews and photos and stories. We’ll get back to you next week about that, but know that everyone on the mailing list (that means you!) will have an account automatically set aside for you. Anyone who upgrades to the Official Fan Club Membership will also have their CHICKENFOOT.US account status upgraded, opening up other features of the site to them, most notably ticket presales.

We’re happy to announce that the OFFICIAL Chickenfoot Fan Club has opened its doors for early registration. Like many other fan clubs, this will be the only way to get access to those early PRESALE TICKET packages for the upcoming US TOUR DATES that will be announced very very soon. The annual membership also comes with a swanky EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRT and an ONGOING 10% DISCOUNT for anything you should wish to purchase from the store (which will be opening for business soon).
How will the presales work? Glad you asked. As we said above, next week we will be opening up CHICKENFOOT.US for everyone to have their own account. When you purchase a Fanclub membership, your account will get supercharged and become your gateway to the ticket presales.
Whenever NEW tour dates are announced (not *yet*, hold your horses), fan club members simply need to:
1. Log into their account on CHICKENFOOT.US
2. Click on the TOUR link to go to the tour section
3. Make note of their unique CODE that will appear on the page.
4. Click on the purchase link that will be displayed, and then enter their code on the ticketing page (Ticketmaster, etc).
* Anyone who purchases a Fanclub membership NOW (before the CHICKENFOOT.US accounts are available) will also automatically have an account created and enabled for them.

A “fan club” for chickenfoot huh?
Shouldnt a group have a fan club once they have established themselves as a GROUP first? Sure I’m not a fan but get real here. What happends if the album doesnt sell well? What happens to the fan club?
doesnt make much sense.
I keep picturing all these fans getting a box in the mail saying “Chickenfoot fan club” and opening it and seeing a bunch of feathers….

I just read the chikenfoot interview in the newest Guitar World magazine, and I have to say, these guys seem like they are genuinely enjoying the gift of playing again!! I SAY MORE POWER TO THEM!!! Bottom line is that if 4 incredible musicians are so excited about what they are creating together, and having a good time doing it, then the music is going to come out killer!!
It isn’t new VanHalen, unfortunately, but you can bet that the influence will be there. Plus, it will be great to see Mikey get some well deserved attention, and to hear his signature voice on completely new tunes!!!If Vh hadn’t have given him the boot, he probably would still be there…..waiting to do something, but he chose to move on and be his regular positive self, doing what he loves and does best!!
I am as big of a VH fan as anyone, but I also love other stuff too, and I for one am stoked about this project!!! There is alot of crap out there right now, and it will be good to hear some good ‘ol dashboard poundin’ music again!!!
As far as all the people complaining about the CF updates on VHND,I didn’t see people complaining on all the Roth updates years ago before he was back in the band. I think it is great to see what past alumni are doing……just like I did when Dave was on his own!!! Comon’ guy’s, it should all be a celebration that we have the luxury to remain updated on ALL THINGS VH!!!

sounds like phil is takin it personal that VH hasnt put out any new songs for him. wahhhhh…. get over it phil. contrary to popular belief a true muscian doesnt write shit for people. they do it when inspired or when they just feel like it.and they do it for themself. and when your good enough you sell shit like shoes guitar etc…and you dont have to write crap just to make a buck. and im sure your gonna say it’s all about the bucks to ed. if tht were the case dont you think he would put out some of that invaluble shit in the vaults? bootlegs, videos and or any three chord shuffle they could put there name on and sell it. bottom line is like most genius ed is probaly a little or alot exsentric (sp) and hard to get along with and a bit moody and a bit of a alcoholic and a bit of a addict and a whole lot “f” up. so all you can do is hope they get there shit together and put some new tunes out and listen to the hundreds of gems they have already put out, and stop bashin em for what they havent done for you lately. i guess you can but i guess that means your not a fan and should be on redrocker.com and not vhnd,

Why should you have to be a cf-fanclub member to get presale tickets? 40 dollars? Wow, I thought these guys were not doing this for the money. I would expect tickets to go for 10 dollars. These guys just want to have fun, right?
But wait a minute, 40 dollars to be the one of the first to get your tickets. They must be really cheap.
I can try and force myself to think that this is am supergroup with real great new music. But who am I kiddin’?

@Erick - Just because you love your job doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get paid to do it.
These guys are marketing themselves so they can get as much exposure as possible. The records business isn’t what it used to be, and these guys aren’t the kind of band the label is going to put a lot of weight behind.
I say more power to them. Whatever they have to do to get enough exposure to make this a success, great. I hope they sell a ton of records and concert tickets and stick with it for a second album.

When can we stop all the hate and comparison BS? VH was good with Roth, with Hagar, etc. If you like one better than the other, good for you. Let’s all celebrate any bone crushing rock and roll no matter who plays guitar or who sings. This Roth vs. Hagar war is about like peace between the Palestinians and Israelis. Can’t we all just get along? I’ll buy the Chickenfoot album. I’ll buy the next Van Halen w/ Roth. Isn’t 23 years of this lead singer hate enough? Grow up dudes.

I have every Van Halen album like most fans do . And 5150 is good album I just prefer Dave &Eddie together . Also I’ll buy the Chickenfoot album too! But I hate when people compare Hagar To Roth ! Without Roth there would be no Van Hagar so don’t give Hagar equal credit! Roth had 6 great albums , Hagar maybe 1 1/2 .

Haha are you drunk on Cabo Wabo tequila Kolby? The 04 Van Hagar tour was a nightmare! It’s the worst I’ve ever seen Ed play live and Sam didn’t sound all that great either. I’m surprised Hagar even agreed to do a reunion Tour with Ed being in the condition he was in at the time. Hagar wasn’t too far behind either, stumbling around the stage buzzed in his XXL bright red & yellow outfits and out of breath sometimes. Yeah, I can see why you thought this tour was good.

Forming a new band is the first good move musically that Sammy has done since joining Van Halen back in 85’. God knows his solo career isn’t relevant anymore. I’ve heard the sound clips of Chickenfoot and they’re ok. It might actually be the first time I’d ever shell out money to see Hagar live again since the 04 Slop Tour! One thing is for sure…Satriani always brings it live!

Jesus, how musically ignorant can you possibly be?! Ed is probably the most innovative electric guitarist of all time (yes, even more than Hendrix), inventing a whole new vocabulary for the guitar when everyone thought every avenue had already been explored and showing the world a whole new way to play six strings. And along with Hendrix he is without doubt the most influential electric guitarist of all time. And you think we wouldn’t have heard of him if it wasn’t for the clown?
Because Van Halen is centered around the genius of Edward I always assumed that VH fans would understand what’s going on. Obviously not.

whats funny is the, sammybashers complaining about van halen FANS dedicating a FAN site dedicated to van halen AND former VH alumni , and somehow the vh/vh-family fans who build the site and mantaine it are being told what to cover and what to exclude. like a sammy-hater has the authority to lecture a vh-fan on what to put on thier website!! its hilarious arrogance. get over it, sam was in van halen from 85-96 and 04. mike was in van halen from 76-04. like it or not they will always be peripherally associated with van halen , and if van halen fans want to cover thier career they CAN.

Nothing on here but a bunch of haters is seems. Face it people, Van Halen is done and has been for a long time. I doubt Ed has the brain cells left to write truly great music any longer. The 2004 tour with Sammy never should have happened. The show I went to was shit and the low point was Ed plastered out of his mind, wallowing around on the floor in front of a speaker bank using his guitar to illicit feedback. Oh, boy! Sammy sounded like he really didn’t want to even be on the stage. Total shit performance. People were actually booing Ed’s solo ‘effort’ if you could call it that.
As for the comments about Sammy’s ’shitty little tequila business’, if you knew anything at all about tequila you would know that Cabo Wabo tequilas are top notch and rated one of the top tequila brands in the world and Cabo Uno was rated the best when it came out in 2007. Hagar sold 80% of the business to Sky Vodka for $80 million a couple of years ago. Not bad for a ’shitty little tequila business’. Let’s see you do better.
Lastly, for those who think they know good lyrics, until you write your own lyrics and music, sell tens of millions of albums, and tour faithfully in front of sell out crowds I hardly think you are qualified to judge anyone elses song writing ability.
