    Hey guys,
Anyone ever tried this? I’m thinking of buying. Got a lot of SD’s in my guitars. I’m hoping this will give me ‘the sound’.

  • Karl

It will take a lot more than one pickup to give you ‘the sound’.

What I can’t figure out is the wire. It looks like it has a connector on the end instead of the 4-wire conductor.

    I know Karl, I know

I’ve got a Steve Vai humbucker in my Strat at the moment. Might swap it out for one of these just out of interest.

So this isn’t the PAF replica right? This is the Frankenstrat pickup after the Floyd Rose Was installed? This one compensated for the tone differences from standard trem to Floyd Rose trem?

  • EDWARDisTHEbest

    Nate,
It’s essentially a duplicate of whatever pup is currently in Franky, minus the wear and tear.

Also I’m surprised, that’s really not too crazy of a price as far as artist merch. goes

I know its kinda asking a lot …but if you can find an early( 83′ or older ) PAF Pumbucker…you can find them if you look , Even if the pickup is a Di Marzio or a EMG it’s ok because the older ones have loose copper ( Time and heat loosens the wire )and aged wire…The older the better because the copper in the pickups eventually gets oxidized and it mellows the tone

Do we have to dip this in wax?
