David Lee Roth “Trippin’ With The Beatles”
With the torrential flood of remixes and mash-ups hitting the internet daily at an alarming rate, it is surprising that no one has thought of this idea before: Combining the Beatles’ original version of “Tomorrow Never Knows” with the interpretation offered by David Lee Roth on his own Diamond Dave album. Throw in some samples of Roth’s isolated vocal from “Runnin’ With The Devil” along with some heady video effects involving some images of the artists and you get…this.
Thanks to larrydavideo, the same fellow that created the wonderfully inspired “Runnin’ With The Beatles” & “Runnin’ with Stevie Wonder” videos last year.

The video imagry was pretty cool in and of itself. Mixing Dave and the Beatles was haaaarsh. Hate to say it, the Beatles do it better.

These mash ups as they call them just seem plain wrong, although they can be a bit of fun for a few moments. It would be more entertaining to me if it were meant to be serious and not funny and they actually worked somehow. Otherwise it’s like a joke that just goes on and on and gets old. This one had a cool sound to it to some degree but the RWTD soundbites just didn’t work well. But then I suppose that it wasn’t meant to sound pleasing, but meant to be funny.
WTF… It needs to be heard over and over: “We are waiting for new music guys!” Sad that we have to scrounge the web for stuff like this to hold us over. Still, I want to say thanks to VHND for any and all VH related stuff like this. Cheers…
