You will love this! Someone has created a Van Halen video game that you can play right on your computer. It’s a variation on the classic Asteroids, done in an endearing version that features David Lee Roth & Van Halen imagery and sound. It’s called the “Diamond Dave Edition” of “Assteroidz”. Enjoy!

Since we’re checking out old blended with new technology (which is REALLY COOL- loved Asteroids game), here’s an idea for the new Van Halen album;

Since DVD’s are available that allow you to choose viewing widescreen or standard cropped formats on the same disc, why not have Eddie and the boys write and record the music and put out an audio DVD album that let’s you choose David Lee Roth as the singer or Sammy Hagar singing over the same music?

It’s totally do-able with today’s technology; The band YES did a tour with both Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin. As a joke they could even include an 3rd option where you hear BOTH singers singing the new album together and rapping taunts at each other. It would be great fun not to mention an artistic and commercial success!!! Then Ed could fire them both.

I was listening to KBG’s morning show (Dave, Shelly & Chainsaw) in San Diego and heard about this on Thursday when they were playing the game and put it on there web site I went there got the game and have been playing ever since. I enjoy stuff like this.

I love that everytime you fire a laser Dave goes “Whoo!” Great game. Scored 30200! And as for the question “Where is the rest of the band?” With Dave he took center stage so it’s kinda fitting that there is no other mention of Alex or Mike.

Frikkin’ hilarious, by the way!! I love the Sammy head wailin’ “55!!”. Cracks me up. As far as everyone wondering where the rest of the band is…uh, you know it does say it’s a beta of version 1. Unless the guy gets really bored or is just too busy, I’m sure there will be a newer version with more stuff. There maybe could be one where you can choose between Dave or Sammy or maybe a two player version with Dave & Sammy as playable and Gary Cherone heads come out to blast away. Album covers could also be added into the mix for “asteroids” to blow up. etc, etc…
