I think that Eddie could have grown a lot more as a musician if he would’ve done more oftenly these kind of colaborations with excelent players as Steve.

This has kind of a live vibe to it, like from Paul Schaeffer’s “Late Nite” (with David Letterman) orchestra. It actually reminds me of the time Eddie performed “Panama” with them. I’m not real crazy about this, but it’s O.K.

Amazing…something by Edward that I don’t like. But then I’m not too fond of people “modernizing” or “jazzing up” classic Christmas tunes. Most of them suck.

Wow how bad was that it would tast good on my Pizza .

The reason there are no words is because Eddie couldn’t figure out which singer he liked that day.

I heard this on KLOS in LA about six years ago. I believe that Eddie performed without Al or Mike since it was Lukather’s album. I hope he got paid for this unlike his contribution to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album.

I bought the album a couple years back and it is now one of my favorites at the holidays.

It’s from Lukather’s album “Santamental”, from 2003. Here’s a quote from Lukather about it: “Ed and I have been friends for 24 years or so. I got him out of seclusion to come rip on one of the Xmas tunes.” Van Halen joins Lukather on a rendition of the standard Joy to the world that Lukather tells will sound a bit different than what most people are used to: “I did a version of Joy to the world that sounds like it’s Hot for teacher or Space boogie. It’s that tempo, that groove, and we re-arranged the voicings around the melody. Me and him go back and forth on some solos.”

It´s Ok…But i prefer the Craig Parker Adams songs!!
It´s more EVH type of sound!!! hahahha…
Eddie is the KING!!! but i think he really got to listen another guys like Satriani ( sorry die hard fans!)…just to open his mind and reinventing himself…
Sometimes he just repeat his “trademark” tricks: tapping over and over again…and “abusing” the tremolo…There is nothing really new happening…
C´mon Eddie You got the gift!! Give us something new!! I miss a new “mojo” in your style!!
But, STIL, Eddie Van Halen is the KING!!
