This was great! I don’t know how you got these- but they are great. VH forever!
December 4th, 2008 at 10:28 am
Man, this is really cool! Another neat one would be isolating just Eddie’s guitar.
December 4th, 2008 at 11:27 am
Interesting…Perhaps this could be of good use for ‘Guitaraoke’?…has anyone invented that one yet?…
David Lee Roth definitely has one of the best rock voices ever, but without Eddie’s guitar (or Eddie without Dave’s vocals)…well, it just sounds kind of neutered or something. The sum of all parts of Van Halen will never be equaled or surpassed by one single member. They belong together (In a totally platonic sense that is…).
God, I hope they (at least some combination involving Alex, Dave, and Eddie) are gonna do a new album some time this century. I would like nothing better than for Michael Anthony to be brought back into the fold, but I have nothing against Wolfie being in the lineup.

Sounds good!
Van Halen 1976-1984 is the greatest band ever!!!
December 4th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
This just anchors again why this is the BEST LIVE BAND ON THE LAND!!! VH-KA!!!!
December 4th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
That was cool!! Thanks for posting that! More please!
December 4th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
It would be nice if they let Michael Anthony to return.. But two things prevent that… Mike is having alot of fun hanging out with Sammy & the Wabo’s.. Plus Eddie needs to get his head out of his ass !!!!!!!!
December 5th, 2008 at 12:02 am
yes. Eddie needs to get his head out of his ass but Eddie is Eddie.?p s but it is cool.it is all love.yes
December 5th, 2008 at 1:16 am
Would be cool to here all 4 members seperate, then be able to combine any/all parts.
December 5th, 2008 at 4:55 am

Now we have everything but the bass. Maybe Ed can use these separated tracks to remix it with Wolfgang on bass. LMAO

Dave is clearly the best “frontman” of Van Halen. But not the best vocal talent!..Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather see a Roth lead Halen show..hands down. But a better singer than Hagar? I think not…..

DAVE VS. SAMMY:
1. Who would you rather hang out with, Dave or Sammy?…
Personally, I don’t think I could stand being around Dave for more than 10 minutes, so Sammy gets this one in my book.
2. Who would win in a head to head fight between Dave and Sammy?…
Tossup really, Dave’s got the martial arts and Sammy has his boxing.
3. Who has the better solo career?…
No contest here, Sammy has the greater body of solo work.
4. Who would be the most likely to win “Dancing with the Stars”?…
Hands down this has got to be Dave, ever seen Sammy on stage?
5. Who would win a drinking contest between Dave and Sammy?…
Dave likes Jack, Sammy likes Tequila…but Sammy would win this one because prior to the contest, Dave will have already gotten stoned on weed.
6. Who was the biggest ass when they split from Van Halen, Dave or Sammy?…
…and the answer is…EDDIE!
7. Who was the worst lead singer in any Van Halen lineup?…
…and the answer is…Eddie…”How Many Say…AYE? heh, heh
8. Who would most likely be caught wearing women’s underwear, Dave or Sammy?
C’mon, we all know this would be Dave!
9. Who would you want around in the event of an emergency, Dave or Sammy?
Well, Dave has the experience as a Paramedic/EMT and has no problem training a shotgun on a criminal until police arrive!
10. O.K.,…Who is the better singer, Dave or Sammy?
Both guys have great chops, in my opinion though Dave’s voice is more distinctive, and has more range and inflections. I’ve heard other singers who sound like, or at least come really close to sounding like Sammy, but I’ve never heard anyone quite like Dave. In my opinion, the body of work that the David Lee Roth era Van Halen put out is far more superior than the “Van Hagar” era. Of course I like them both, but I listen to ‘Classic Van Halen” a whole lot more than Van Hagar.
December 5th, 2008 at 11:46 pm
OH WOW MAN! how did you get that? Are you an assistant with an old enginner who was present at these historic recordings? Man! this just proves how much funk, feel, blues growl and original Dave is!!! That’s the sound of classic Van Halen!!! PERIOD, CASE CLOSED!!!
And please for all you Sammy lovers out there always trying to shove down everybody’s throats about Van Halen being more successful in the Hagar era than the Roth era, yeah that’s right Sammy had everthing going for him, Dave started the wave and Sammy’s been riding ever since!! But at least Sammy got ‘wipedout’ when the 2007/08 Van Halen tour kicked ass!!!

That is so cool! Diamond Dave has the greatest voice…
December 6th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Okay, like most times, some of you appear to be idiots. This us and them bone-headed mentality that most retards on this planet buy into, has no place in the Halenite world that us true fans live in. THERE IS NO BETTER THAN!!!. Dave, Sammy, Gary all made some outstanding contributions to the VH’s catalogue, which are simply DIFFERENT from one another…that’s it, morons, just different!!!
Second, this whole thing with folks only being able to hang around Dave for limited periods of time is a reflection on some of you dipshits who apparently cannot handle being around one of the coolest, most artistic, the Andy Worhaul of rock, babe attracting guys around. Hell, I’m Palestinian and Dave is Jewish and I’d hang out with him ANYTIME. I’ve heard you boneheads speak of this idiocy and I have even heard Mike, Sammy, Al, and Ed make such comments. If any of those guys would just shut the hell up and stick it out with this guy and each other, at least for the sake of rock-n-roll sanctity, and the fans, we would have had several more albums to listen to as well as a couple more tours. Hell, can you imagine a tour line up of both Sam and Dave with Ed, Al, and Mikey? Us fans DESERVE that, and thus should demand it from those guys!!!
December 6th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Wow, dude!! Feel better!? This is all just part of the Van Halen world we chose to create!!! At least we’re still TALKING!!!! Van Halen hasn’t put anything out in 5 years, and beyond that, who can remember? But these tracks recently posted did for me what ALL VH tracks have done in the past. Make me stop and listen…..and listen….and listen….and listen again!!! Thank you GOD for making ALL these bruthas!!!
December 7th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
This most likely came from the new guitar hero, because you can faintly hear Eddie in the background in some parts, and thats how they isolated the guitar and drum tracks that were posted (or at least the drums, because you could faintly hear guitar in there. im not positive about the guitar).
And Kenny, the Guitar Hero version is remixed with Wolfie’s bass-ing.
December 7th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
These are great !! Amazing how the sum of the parts make a great song !!!

Hey Amad, the only “DIPSHIT” around here is someone who doesn’t read a post in it’s entirety and not understand what a joke is. Then they resort to calling other Van Halen fans names for expressing their opinions. Now that is pretty brave and bold of you to do tucked away somewhere in the comfort of your anonymity…pretty sophomoric as well. I don’t know why you even brought up the issue of religious preference? You are right in wanting several more albums and tours from these guys, obviously that’s what all of us want or we wouldn’t frequent this site. The only people who should “shut the hell up” is people who don’t think before they speak!
December 8th, 2008 at 10:43 am
First, much of what I commented on is not a joke, for people have been expressing those views for years. Of course, you and others could be joking, but overall, it has not simply been a joke. Second, my name calling did not come as a result of VH fan expressing their opinions. No, genius, it came as a result of the content of those opinions, which I have a right to do just as much as anyone else. Third, I did not have anonymity in mind while expressing my views. I have no problem expressing such views to folks in person - and religion was not mentioned at all, rather, ethnicity was because of the fact of the current conflict between the two ethnicities - my mentioning of the two was merely used as an analogy in light of the content of my post, genius. Try doing some of the very “thinking” prior to posting just like you suggested to me…asshole. I have read posts and opinions about VH for years and have never commented. I just started recently. For that matter, my comments did not warrant your rudeness. I, for the most part, spoke in general, and thus contributed to the discussion. You, on the other hand, appear to want this to be personal. This is not personal, sir. I made good points. Find someone else to hash out whatever personal issues you might have. If I am offbased, I apologize. However, if not, go fly yourself a kite and jam to some Menudo or something.
