Not as good as Waiting for the Punchline, but it's still a good album. As Magnesium Jake said: it often sounds like a combination of Waiting... and III sides.

... Why do I sometimes feel guilty for liking VHIII ? And absolutely adoring "How Many Say I"? Maybe I'm just too young (= 17.)

Anyway, looking forward to getting this album.

Damn! that new drummer Kevin Figueiredo kicks ass. Great to have these guys back and don't hold out for another 13 years now guys, get a followup to Saudades de Rock out in about 3 years time. That would be insane to break this band up again. This is a very impressive rock album and needs a followup for sure. Saw them live to and they totally rocked my world.

This should help some VH fans get by why we wait for a new VH album with Roth. Thanks Extreme!

Holy crap, this CD rocks. Especially Comfortably Numb, Run, and Learn to Love.

Definitely purchase worthy.

First off, in my opinion the new Extreme album rocks. I gave it two full listens and as a big fan of Extreme I'm actually a little disappointed that they didn't have more songs like "Star" on their as this showcases their voices, and their playing ala III Sides. But the album rocks and should be purchased by rock fans, think "Waiting For the Punchline" with a little dab of "III Sides" and you've got it.

Also, I am a huge fan of Van Halen, with Dave first and foremost, but also with Sammy and Gary. All three versions had unique sounds to them but I must admit that I feel Gary was much better than Sammy. I wish the second album from the Gary lead group saw the light of day because we all would be impressed with the depth of the songwriting and the new, fresh direction they were taking. This won't happen though because Warner Bros. sucks and want's to pigeon hole the band.

Well at least we have a new Extreme disc and maybe with a little luck Ed and Dave will make it happen with VH one more time---

R.U.C.RE.US?

Did you listen to more then just the first song??? I mean that has a Queen sound but after that it all pretty much Rock. The album sounds nothing like III sides.

No Rock Opera at all. Not sure at all what you are talking about. Either you did not listen beyond the first song or you are, even though you say you are not, biased against the band.

Again the song STAR, yes does sound like Queen.

Comfortably Dumb = Funk Rock
Learn to Love = Led Zep style riffs and great rock
Take Us Alive = Led Zep/Elvis Rockabilly
Run = Funk meets David Bowie
Last Hour = Blues/Rock
Flower Man = punkish Rock
King Of the Ladies = Funky/Hip Hop Rock
Ghost = Great Ballad
Slide = Straight up FUNK!
Interface = Another Ballad
Sunrise = Melodic Rock (Van Hagar)
Peace = Another Great Ballad

Some of Extremes Harmonies do sound like Queen but there is no Queen like sone except for Star.

Great ROCK album. 9 out of 10.
