I am just going to say one thing. If you think that Van Halen was better with Hagar, then you are not a true fan! Sammy Hagar screwed the band up. He had no charisma, and I agree with Steve: Sammy Hagar's whiny voice pales in comparison to that of Diamond Dave. Oh and one last thing, Dave's solo career was kick-ass. If you disagree, then I strongly suggest you to go buy Skyscraper or Crazy From the Heat (both are solo albums).

Ok, I'd love to do this even though I can't sing because it would be the closest hope of maybe meeting da king, DLR! OK, but seriously, tribute band? There is already the closest thing to the real, ATOMIC PUNKS. Saw them last summer and was blown away by the singers likeness to DLR, nobody can top him. I've seen the contestant wanna be's on the real tv website and well, . . .he he . . Good Luck!

I'm a Van Halen Fan during the Roth era, for the songs rocked more, and were simpliy more creative! If you ever looked at my myspace page, you'd you who i was! I also played all the guitar on that page too, Eddie is just as much my hero as Dave is! Eddie lost his greatness after Dave left VH.

Ok, Steve. I have to question whether you're a Dave fan, a Van Halen fan, or the Official DLR PR Representative. When you pull your nose out of Dave's ass let us know! You're getting laughable!!!

I’d love to hear the critics, of Roth, to actually try to sing his songs, and do it the way he sang! His approach to singing is powerful, rich in tone, and just as electrifying as Eddie’s guitaring! Roth blended technic with attitude, humor, and personality. He wouldn’t really be Diamond Dave if he didn’t!
People are getting confused, and when they hear Roth adding a more human side to the singing approach, they just are thinking he lacks the ability to sing, not realising this is all done intentionally! He added this side more and more after the first album, for he knew it was selling his persona better! The first few albums show his true potential, especially their first!

Steve we get it....you look like DLR and sing (probably) like him. Awesome. Except for the last part! Your lead guitarist better be half as good as Eddie, nay just as good as Eddie if you want a "career" out of it! Seriously though, I just dig VH, man! I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm an EVH fan. I don't care who sings. But I do like me some Sammy. Music (it doesn't matter who's) in general went "pop" in the 80s. And then in the 90's it came back to rock. Like you said, Steve, "Balance" was Awesome. No, I didn't see VH and Dave in their prime, but I did see the Retro Tour last year. That too, was Awesome. The Sammy Retro Tour I saw in 04, unfortunately, I can't say the same. And I'm a Sammy Fan!! I saw it twice and therefore went to 2 kick ass parties, but Eddie was too sloppy, and quite frankly, my boy Sammy was a little flat. I say another Sam and Dave tour!!! That was fun! Only now I guess Dave's band this time would actually be VH.
