One last concert - July 3rd in Quebec City

VAN HALEN at Quebec City’s Summer Festival on July 3rd

The Festival today unveiled its final surprise: rounding out its most surprising program of events for 2008 will be rock legends Van Halen! The most popular American rock group of the late 70s and early 80s will be giving a show in Québec City on July 3!

Festival to Get Off to an Electrifying Start With Van Halen

Quebec City, June 5, 2008 - The Quebec City Summer Festival, in conjunction
with the Société du 400e anniversaire de Quebec, today pulled the last –
and certainly not least — rabbit out of its hat! None other than hard rock
legend VAN HALEN (with more than 80 million albums sold worldwide) was
selected to kick off the festivities on July 3, on the Scene Bell stage.

David Lee Roth and brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen - who announced their
comeback in August 2007 - will bring the house down with hits such as “You
Really Got Me,” “Runnin’ With the Devil,” “Dance the Night Away,” “Panama,”
“Hot for Teacher” and “Jump.” A new recruit, Wolfgang Van Halen,17-year-old
son of Eddie, replaces Michael Anthony on bass, breathing new life into the
four-piece.

As the New York Times captioned its October 5, 2007 review: “A Joyful
Reunion, Full of Wide Smiles and High Kicks”.

The Quebec City Summer Festival is presented by Bell in collaboration with
Molson Dry.

Let me say this! As an avid Van Halen and David Lee Roth freak! This tour has kicked ass!

I saw the show in Atlanta, Indy, Charlotte, St. Louis and Cincinnati. Not one show let me down. Atlanta was special b/c that is where the sound went out during Eddie’s solo, and then he used one of Alex’s drumsticks to finish the solo and it was awesome.

Sammy Hagar should just retire his ass, b/c after this tour there will not be a need for him anymore.

I saw VH in the original days with Michael and I have to say that Wolfie played as good if not better. Who needs Michael Anthony’s stupid immature bass solo’s with Jack Daniels anyway.

David, Eddie, Alex and Wolfie I want to thank you for making my dreams come true. VH with DLR once again. There will never, I mean NEVER be another show that compared to these.

  2. JIm says:

Thumbs up to that man! I just saw them in Manchester.
They are in top form if you ask me. Great.
Sammy can stick with his tequila, and Mike……..

  3. Rick berdeski says:

Hey Eddie, Alex, Wolfie, and Diamond Dave,

Thanks guys for another great year of Van Halen down our throats. My son was born Feb.29th 2008 his name is Halen Thomas Berdeski. Thanks for being responsible for giving my child the coolest name on the planet.

    Give us a cd soon.

    Rock on VH rock on!!!

  4. SCOTT HUGHES says:

Yea I too saw the tour in Toronto and Atlanta and found both shows to be awesome, though I had never seen VH with Roth, as I was too young at the time to go to shows with Roth, hopefully the band has an exciting future ahead and they make at least another album

  5. Brian Cottingham says:

What a tour. I saw VH July 3 and 4th on the 84 tour. They were every bit as good now if not better. I saw them in Indy and in Chicago this time around. I have to say you guys are outstanding live with uncle Dave as the front man once again. Please don’t let us down and keep the bus running. I have been a huge fan forever and we need a cd from the best rock and roll band ever Van Halen. Thanks for the great times fellas.

  6. Tony Duran says:

Well, i can certainly echo what’s been said about the band and this tour in particular. I am a huge DLR-Van Halen fan since waaaaayy back and vowed never to see them with Hagar. I have seen them on the Women and Children First, Fair Warning, $1million US festival and twice on 1984!

THis tour i made it a point to see them as much as I could. Just living the dream as though it may never happen again! What i can say after stops in Greensboro, Phoenix, San Diego, San Jose, Las Vegas x2, Jacksonsville, Tampa, and Ft. Lauderdale and lastly in Las Vegas again, then didn’t disappoint one bit! My highlight was second night of 07 tour in Greensboro b/c they were ELECTRIC and INTENSE. Night after night they brought it!!

    GIVE US NEW MUSIC PLEASE!!
    Tony from New Mexico

  7. Tubtanic says:

Van Halen played in front of over 90,000 people in Quebec city. Why is there not a single article, on this site, concerning the massive crowd? When was the last time VH played to 90,000 people?

  8. dave says:

The Quebec City show was great and the band really seemed to have a good time. Their playing was tight and David Lee Roth was very entertaining.

  9. David says:

I saw them in philly and in Atlantic city, I hope they come out with a new cd that would be AWESOME

  10. Steve says:

I’ve been lucky to see them open for Black Sabbath in 1978, Headline here in London, Ontario, Canada in 1979 and 1980! Also in Toronto in 1984. Roth was amazing on his own too in 1986 to 1990! Glad that Roth pulled this off well this year!
