And even though the band carries the name of the two brothers (Alex and Eddie), when you mention Van Halen to me, I think of Dave, Eddie, Alex and Mike. In the early days, when the group name of Mammoth was already taken, the group contemplated calling themselves "Rat Salad," before David Lee Roth suggested calling themselves "Van Halen."
